How come so many posts

There are many posts, why do some people answer posts that they know nothing about, example,I am not sure,I do not know, the poster admits he does not know the answer,do not say anything. I notice it is the same 10 or 15 people who always make these negative answers.

Yea, I think some here are posting addicts. But maybe we need them. Like the people at a party who fill the air with chatter when it is uncomfortably silent?

Trish Crocker 07-30-2011 08:15 PM

I think one of the main reasons that people post is the same reason we converse...it's a connection to others and a way to get to know each other. If we waited to post when we had "THE ANSWER" it would get pretty boring..it's fun to discover each others personalities. If you really want to see inane chatter, check out your facebook or twitter pages..at least here there is a reason, we are all interested in TV and getting to know each other.

Hey Bill, great minds think alike, don't they?

JimPete 07-30-2011 08:41 PM

GracieGirl, you have become TOTV celeb. You should hold a meet and greet for those of us who would like to meet.

You too Bill. Boobear and I have always enjoyed your post.

I wish. Boobear and I will be down for a visit Aug 21, just a week. We have dibs on a lot in St. James and hope to start building early next year. Still we would like to meet some of the celebs on TOTV.

Jim

Some folks just like to talk, a lot. After awhile I just click past some posts knowing that they're probably just being chatty. With other posters I read every word, often more than once.

Pls excuse me, I am hijacking the thread for a moment.

Jim: just curious...which lot in St James is yours? Our lot is 41, on Yankee Clipper Run; closing is 22 days away. We made a w/end run up to TV from SoFla to check on progress and to try to take care of a few move-in related issues.

Yes, I know. A pm would've been more appropriate but I presume that wannabes, soon-to-be and others in my situation can live vicariously through the post while frogs and snowbird owners can relate.

:agree: And my father has all the answers (or at least he thinks he does...) :).

I send up a cheer when I hear someone has found their home in TV. I do live vicariously through your posts. Thank you for posting the good news about your upcoming closing. :mademyday:

Most of the time the . is the only to delete a posting. Sometimes we respond to a post and decide that what we are saying is wrong, harsh or not in the TOTV atmosphere of good taste. Since we are not allowed to delete our own posts so we use a . to basically delete the post.

It is also used to "bump" a post. That gets an old post back into the mix.

Lonely?

Perhaps those people (maybe I am one of 'em?) are just lonely, and the interaction with TOTV is their way of having a "family" to chat with.

chuckster 07-31-2011 06:45 AM

FYI - The dot is used when someone posted something and then decided to delete it. Since we can't delete the entie post we just put a dot.

Whoops just realized Z already mentioned this.

Make believe I put a dot here:)

One thing I do know is that I do know nothing. :)

IMHO - If every post on this forum was an eloquent answer to every question that someone had, there would be a lot less posting.

As a wannabee, I do not claim or pretend to know answers to questions that I have not experienced myself. I will try to make pertinent information available to a question that someone needs answers to or point them in the right direction.

It is fun to get to know each other and to see if you are like minded to establish friendships. By getting to know some of the members, one can form an opinion on who can best answer their questions or who they want to develop friendships with. I enjoy the good natured people and very knowledgeable members on this forum and it helps me to feel connected to TV until that great day comes when I become a frog.

As Pturner says, "It is ribbitting". :D

TOTV ROCKS!!!!!

Keep in mind that, as we used to say in EST, you don't know what you don't know. And if someone else doesn't know what they don't know, maybe, together, we do know.

chacam 08-03-2011 07:48 AM

There are those who post everything about nothing and nothing about everything. Just a waste of bandwidth as is this post !

Pturner 08-03-2011 07:55 AM

Because chatting with my TOTV friends is ribbiting.:D And you meet the nicest people...

LI SNOWBIRD 08-03-2011 08:12 AM

Oh my gosh

I haven't heard of EST in years. I kinda thought it was forgotten- thanks for the memory jog. Maybe I wouldn't have needed it if I I had been ESTed .:22yikes:
