When do NEW Golf Carts arrive?
 

I want to buy a cart before I move to TV. Are carts like cars? Do the new models arrive in August or September like cars or is there another time of the year for carts?

I can tell you that The Villages cart shop is having a huge 2011 clearance sale right now. We just bought ours on this sale, so I guess the new ones must be coming soon, if not already here.

what are the price ranges?
2 seater basic cart?
those fancy 2 seat mustangs/trucks/suv's?

I was very surprised at how expensive new golf carts can be! Seems the basic (who wants basic?), Village ready, Yamaha gas will run you about $7,000 to $8,000. We were told new electrics were at least that and sometimes more. The Yesteryears seem to start around $17,000 to $19,000. Of course, like a car, there are numerous options to consider!:gc:

We ordered 2 carts from TV Golf Carts when we were down a few weeks ago.2 seater and a 4 seater 2011 Yamahas. Took advantage of all the discounts to add "things" like the Curtis Cab, ultimate seats, electric outlet, in dash fuel gauge, easybreezy a/C. Custom colors and fabrics, free upfgraded locking dash and other things. They will be ready when we move in October.

I don't know exactly when the model year switch is, but we bought our 2011 Yamaha last year in November, the day before the Golf Cart Parade.

Hedoman, Once you start driving your cart after you move, please post how you like your Curtis Cab. I've heard mostly good things about them, but it's always good to get a lot of opinions as I don't believe the Curtis Cab is an inexpensive option.

What is easybreezy A/C? Are you getting that because of the Curtis Cab enclosure to keep you cooler?

We test drove the Curtis Cab and loved it. Rather than pull over and "zipup" when a windy rain hits you all we had to do was just pull the doors shut. Got the AC for when the doors are shut as it will get hot in there (I noticed EVERYBODY driving with flaps up getting soaked in a deluge probably due to the heat). One day we did the entire TV north to south and the old section, over 45 miles in a golf cart, That's when I wish I had the "ultimate seats" as they are comfortable beyond belief

hedoman, I know the "zipup" experience in a golf cart from renting in TV last month. I will be back in TV renting again in October, but if the Weather Channel is right, TV usually only gets little over 2 inches of rain on average in October so maybe/hopefully no need to zipup in October. I really like the idea of the Curtis Cab so someday if I do purchase in TV, the Curtis Cab or the Mee Cab will definitely be consideration when buying a golf cart.

Does anyone know all the discounts the Villages cart shop is having right now on their 2011 Yamaha Golf Cars?

Are the curtis cab doors a problem when parking? It seems they would be, because parking head in to curb or rear in , carts are usually parked fairly close to each other. Think you would need to open before parking. :smiley:

To me it looks like the Curtis Cab doors slide back and forth like the rear door of a mini-van, but this is best answered by someone who owns a golf cart with Curtis Cab doors.

Curtis Cab doors open out a few inches and pretty much slide straight back. If there is enough room to get my butt out of the cart then there is ample room to keep the doors slid open or closed.

The Villages Yamaha Golf Car Store - Sale????
 

My sister is in The Villages visiting and went in last evening with my Mom to look at new 2011 Tomberlin and Yamaha electric golf carts to replace my parents existing older Club Car.

They quoted prices in the mid $8K range for each, with moderate accessories, and said there were no sales or discounts whatsoever - 'because if we sell it to you for less, then all those people that paid more will come in and be mad and demand a refund.'

This sounds like pure bunk. What clearance sale? It was referenced in this string - are there local ads or similar? I can't find a website for The Villages store. What discounts - I read in another string a minimum of $400 off just for being a Villager?

Any advice is appreciated.
