Calculate Your Life Expectancy

This is neat! Be honest, take note, then go back and change the things that you can control and see the difference. It's a real eye opener!

This is a calculator that estimates your life expectancy.
It was developed by Northwestern Mutual Life.
It's interesting that there are only 13 questions.
Yet, they can predict how long you're likely to live .

OK, according to this calculator I'm living to 91. Hope my money lasts that long, and at least 30 of those years better be spent in TV!

Debfrommaine 08-07-2011 07:17 AM

That was cool - estimate 97 years!!! Lots more time left here in TV.

wendyquat 08-07-2011 07:56 AM

Ooops, 94 here! Money will never last that long! Oh well, maybe I can hang out in one of the tunnels here in TV!:highfive:

Larry Wilson 08-07-2011 08:03 AM

Thanks Indy. I got 97 and it sure perked up my day!

2BNTV 08-07-2011 08:16 AM

Indy-Guy:

Thank you so very much for posting this. I got a 93.

The exect age that my mom passed away at.

As they say in sports,"I'm signing up for this deal right now". :)

Bill-n-Brillo 08-07-2011 09:05 AM

Mine said 55.......and I'm 58!!! :22yikes:

:1rotfl:

93

I got 93. My mom is 85, dad was 86, my grandmothers where 86 and 93 and I have a second cousin who just passed away well into her 90's.

I think my odds of living a long time are good. Now I just need to get to the Villages.

Ditto

momesu 08-07-2011 01:05 PM

Hmmm...I got 95. Not sure whether that is good or not. I've judged my money to last till 90 with a comfortable life style......I don't really want to give up moving to TV just so I can live to be 95 with enough money. Maybe I to will just move into one of the cart tunnels when money runs out....oh an money lasting to 90 was before markets crashed last week and probably tomorrow....:cryin2:

Wow. 91. Can I get that in writing?

villagegolfer 08-07-2011 02:06 PM

80 years old. Went back and tried again with no drinking=87. I guess you lose 7 years if you are a drinker of alcohol.

rubicon 08-07-2011 03:48 PM

I note from om posters that their life expectancy ranged from 85 to 97. Mine was 91. Hope when i reac that peak I can remember who you are when we are playing golf :D

Shimpy 08-07-2011 04:19 PM

I guess I can buy some green bananas now.

ajbrown 08-07-2011 04:30 PM

This was a very helpful tool. Originally I was in the high 80s. With the current state of my 401k, Social Sec, etc. I simply cannot afford that. It appears that not wearing my seat belt, upping my drinking and taking up smoking gets me back to a place where I will not run out of money. It may even be more fun :D

Reminds me of the joke, "I'll never forget what's his name". :)

:BigApplause: I love it. I'd suggest keep on wearing the seat belt, forget smoking but up the drinking and partying. You will not only not outlive your money, but have a blast doing it. Go for it!

Wasn't it Frank Sinatra who said "I feel sorry for people who don't drink. They wake up in the morning and that is the best they are going to feel all day."

Longevity partially based on heredity

On the long lived side...my dad is 81, and he's still going pretty strong...his 2 older brothers are 91 and 89. My paternal grandparents lived to be 93 and 91,

On the short lived side...my mom passed away at 67 (lots of health issues, but her ultimate cause of death was congestive heart failure). Her father died at 47 (cancer). Her mom died at 72. My mom's sisters died at 22 (kidney failure) and 74 (cancer).

So I guess for me it's a crap shoot ... :(

Pturner 08-07-2011 07:49 PM

OMG. Mine said 99. I need to get back to climbing the corporate ladder in a high-pressure job.

No wait. If I do, my life expectancy will nosedive and I won't need a high pressure job.

Any more room under those tunnels?

99 is just too old, have a couple drinks and relax.

chloe52 08-10-2011 05:23 PM

Wow. I should live to 89!

pivo 08-10-2011 08:55 PM

I'm a wannabee and was nervous taking this test as figuring maybe I wouldn't make it down to tv as my house is still on the market, But I got a 92 and now my blood pressure is down and stress is gone.
I can't wait to come down and be part of you fine people

escapequeen 08-26-2011 08:54 PM

86! gosh I hope so. Lots of time to enjoy family and the Villages. :a040:

KatzPajamas 09-11-2011 11:29 PM

94! At the rate I am shrinking, I will be able to sit in a high chair and car seat!

brightlife60 09-28-2011 06:17 PM

i got a 95....not too shabby!

Villages PL 10-03-2011 12:34 PM

I got 99! That would give me another 29 years. It seems like a long time but the years go by fast.

The world's longest lived person, Jeanne Calment, lived to be 122 and 164 days. That means I would have to live about another 52 1/2 years to break the world's longevity record. What the heck, I think I'll go for it! :loco:

Training begins right after lunch and I plan on going the distance. :boxing2:
