Where are you Gracie
 

I'm wondering where our GG is. Her last massage said she was thinking of swiching to Facebook. NO NO NO We need your positive energy and I enjoy your notes and witty sense of humor. Please don't make me have to join Facebook to get my GG fix. :shrug:

My understanding is that Gracie is in TV and having her new home built so she may be out an about overseeing the project.

I assume that she is very busy at the moment.

Can anyone else shed some light?

I seem to recall that in her post regarding the Russ_Boston Out thread, Gracie implied that she might go low-key on TOTV for awhile (lurking, perhaps) maybe attend to her facebook.

There was no doubt that she was turned off by the meanness spewed in several recent threads. I am guessing that she isn't the only one who feels that way.

She sold her home up north and is building her new one in TV.

We need to send the girl's posse after GG. :police:

I heard that she was spotted yesterday on the roof of her new home with hammer in hand. Must be that they're not going fast enough for her and she's helping to speed up the process!

Why is it that the bullies win? Surely she knows that many many love her posts and maybe just a few are outspoken and bullies who voiced their opinion. Hopefully she will be back soon....we need her!

To me, TOTV has been such a warm and welcoming place, where lively debate and disagreement take place but people are mostly nice to each other in the open Forums, if not always in the opt-in Poli forum, although there are some good people there.

Please, please everyone: posting comments that simply put someone down is not nice. Not naming who is being dissed-- but making it very clear who by coded reference-- doesn't make it any nicer.

Similarly, putting down an entire class of posters (i.e., frequent posters or long-time posters or new posters), is another form of bigotry, is it not? We can't all be that bad.

Let's express our opinions about topics, without making unkind remarks about each other. This is what has always separated TOTV from other discussion boards. We can do this.

My squirt gun is aimed at the reset button. Please help me push it. The codes are:

1. Start fresh
2. Forgive and forget. (Give those of us you dislike a second chance.)
3. If you've left: return, forgive, reset. (Russ? GG? Others?) Please help us squirt down the code words on the reset button.

Thank you...by the way, since I'm new here, I really don't direct anything at any individual or group...honest. I just don't want to see newly acquired friends feeling bad, no matter who is behind it. Heck, I don't even know ANYONE so, obviously, I don't have opinions about anyone. If it at all seemed like I was referencing someone, I wasn't and I apologize. My message to Gracie was just a generic statement, meant to get a humorous response. I hope all of you have a great day, and keep me in mind as I clean, clean, clean..with my ABBA CD playing (loudly) in the background, getting ready to get the house on the market. One other thing I don't understand. People complain because every post isn't informative or spell-binding, but this particular forum seems to me to just be a chance to get to know each other. When there are complaints about "the same people", I don't get it...just because some individuals post more, this isn't preventing anyone else from joining in. There are tons of other forums if I need questions answered. I enjoy learning the personalities of everyone on here. Just as in every other part of our lives, there are some people that are more open, sharing and caring...others are quieter and contribute less often but are still wonderful. It's all part of communicating and I, for one, am glad that everyone is different.

Excellent post! If they gave reps here I'd give you one. As I said in another thread, Discuss or debate the TOPIC- Respectfully, not the poster.

life is so short, and we are so blessed. We lose that perspective at times, but the truth is when compared to other countries, other times, etc....we are truly the blessed of the blessed- 99% of the stuff we get ruffled about is nothing.

BUT- I do not want to get off topic...this is about GRACIE....Gracie..Where AAAARRRRREEEEE youuuuuuu.....??? I hope all is well.

For what it's worth, I must have missed all of these mean posts folks are talking about....glad I did.....I've been too busy working on selling my house so I can be down there forever soon....

Folks,
I know this might be off topic, and if the moderator wants to delete it that of course is fine....but I see this forum as a big party room full of wonderful people.
We are all different. There will always be folks whom we really like a lot, and there will always be a few folks who are not our favorite people.

Just like in a BIG PARTY, if there is someone you do not wish to speak to, you can choose not to. You can walk away, go "Get some air", or just stay busy with folks you like more.

If there is someone here that you REALLY do not like, you need to know that this forum has an "Ignore" feature. You can place that person on your "Ignore list", and you will not see any of their posts.

Now here I've never seen the need for me to do this, but for a few of you, if one or two folks get you so upset that it spoils the forum for you....it is better to USE that ignore list, then to leave the "Party".

Anyway, sorry to go off topic. I know it is about Gracie.....but it seems that this "meanie" topic is overshadowing some threads, and many folks simply do not know all of the "tools" here on the forum that might make them like the forum better.

The best way to counter the negative posts is by posting more positive posts. When someone post something that is doubtful, counter it with a good post. Everybody just post 20 to 1 and then the negative posters will not get the reaction they desire.
Avoiding them means they are not recognized. It means they are not sanctioned, they are void.
Eventually, their light will fade and they will either go away or try to fit in.
Either way, TOTV wins.
