Satire
Huh, I hope you realize that my heading was satire?
Many people voted for The Annointed One because he said he would end the war and he didn't. The "War" could go on after we are dead and buried. |

Don't missunderstand. There I have issues with BOTH sides!!! I did not vote for McCain because I didn't think Sarah would be a good president and Mr. McCain was in his 70's. |

Here are quotes from two republican candidates " I listen to the voice of God" , really? Do you good cellular service or do you think you are just very special ? :D |
I voted for mcCain because I believe and still do that he would have better managed these two wars, our foreign policy and eventually bring closure faster and in a better mannere than Dems. On the economic side is there anyone who still believes that Obama is better at fixing the economy then McCain? McCain's commitment, and love for this country and his stic-to-itive=-ness was greatly needed.

Rubicon,
If the Republican ticket in 2008 was McCain (Huckabee, Romney) they would have won. It was putting Sarah Palin on as the VP candidate that lost the election for Republicans. She and her family (not bashing here) were too much baggage for voters to want a heartbeat from being President. Put up someone like Romney with Huckabee as VP candidate and Republicans can win in 2012. Put up Bachmann or Paul and middle of the road to moderate right voters will vote for the Democrat candidates. |

I am greatly concerned that the right GOP candidates get chosen because as I stated elesewhere journalist and voters are too easily distracted with nonsens and not focusing on substantive issues. I for one am going to work hard to remain reticent concerning candidates incosequential gaffes and stay focused on whether they are making sense on plans to fix the country

The talk about war is true, but let us not forget the never ending and continuing failed international policy from day one of this presidency !

Bucco,
Who would be on your dream ticket for President and VP and why? |

VP is almost always a political thing....getting votes or at least it always has been.....serves no purpose at this point to even discuss that. I like Romney simply because he has ALL the qualifications for the job...no guarantee of success but he has it all. And I ignore al those who bring up any warts about anyone......ALL in public office for any length of time...or in business for any length of time...have decisions they made in good faith that they would love to have back. Times change..situations change and thus far he would be my choice. A number of young folks in the Rep party who may grow over years into viable candidates but not now.....which leads me to the question...are there any YOUNG DEMOCRATS around worth watching. I cant think of many...they pretty much are the old tried and true at this point anyway |

Follow The Money (Again)
Quote:
D'ya think all the lobbyists for the defense contractors have a greater say over whether the country goes or remains at war than whoever might have been elected POTUS? What does it say when 70-80% of Americans want the wars to stop, but the elected representatives figure out reasons to keep them going? I think I've said it several times before...Follow the Money! |

Obviously, not many did their homework or we wouldn't be stuck with the most incompetent president in history, barring none. |

Just read this forum....we are incensed that a young woman who is not running for office walked off a talk show.....it is headlines on CNN and elsewhere and discussed ad nauseam....YET We have a man who is nominated for President of the United States associatons revealed and just tossed aside as if nothing...we hear of a 20 year relationship with man he called him mentor simply shrugged off after one bad press day...I recall Romney having a full blown press conference to respond to his Mormonism.. This past election was a figmant of the press and I hope that WE have learned our lesson and stop being simply sheep to the media ! |
You Have That Right

By the way, the upcoming 2012 campaign might be a flip-flop from 2008. All the political strategists that I've heard recently have said whoever the GOP candidate is, the only way Obama can win is with a bitterly negative campaign strategy. They opine that with $1 billion to spend, we'll be inundated with negative ads. That's too bad. I'm guessing whatever Congress we wind up with on January 20, 2013 will be even more fractured and partisan than now...if that's possible. |

Not going to happen, Bucco. Millions have been added to the welfare and food stamp rolls. Jobs are scarce or non existent. There is no real plan to help small business which powers this Nation. Citizens now are the least educated in history thanks to government schools and their agenda's.
Younger people do not get involved except in cult heros. How do you think Barack Hussein Obama got the votes? Worthless slogans like "Hope and Change" can get the votes. How pathetic is that? We have no real hope and it has changed for the worst. It was all out there about Obama's past and the media suppressed the information. Slogans win elections...how's that for our future? |
Well, Village Golfer, you called it yourself without help from anyone. You said millions have been added to welfare and food stamp rolls. Younger people vote for cult figures. They do not want to vote for old white guys or reactionary right wing figures. Young people always vote liberal.
If millions have been added to welfare and food stamp rolls, who do you think they will vote for? You know there will be a massive get out and vote drive for them. The Democrats have the way of winning here. |

Village Golfer,
Once again, you have me mixed up with another person. I am BuggyOne. I guess you cannot refute the facts I made about a Democrat victory. No, our country will not be destroyed by another Democrat victory. It was almost destroyed by Richard Milhouse Nixon and most recently by George Walker Bush. It is the current Republicans who are hell-bent on destroying the country because they do not like being led by someone who does not look like themselves or has a name different than the norm. |
