Low Approval Numbers for Obama
The latest Quinnipiac Poll shows that 52% of voters disapprove of the job that President Obama is doing right now. That does not look impressive for the President. However, 69% of voters say they like him as a person while only 13% do not like him as a person.
Mitt Romney is perceived by voters as someone who do a better job on the economy than Obama, with 46 percent saying so, compared to 42 percent who say Obama would do a better job. Voters also stated that the economy is not the only factor they consider when voting. Romney and Obama would theortically tie in a head-to-head vote with nothing else to consider. This is why it is very important to choose a Republican VP candidate who is not an extremeist like Palin was for McCain. Obama and Perry virtually tie in how voters feel they would handle the economy, with 43 percent saying Obama would do a better job, and 41 percent saying Perry would. Though voters may fault Obama for failing to fix the economy, most do not blame him for the current economic climate. 53 percent blame the current condition of the economy on former President George W. Bush, while just 32 percent blame it on Obama. |
Top 10
To help Democrats out, here are ten more things they can blame George Bush for.
10. Kenny Rogers' horrific facelift. 9. The Montauk Monster and the rash of Chupacabra sightings. 8. Sanjaya. He was a Republican operative. 7. Homeless puppies. 6. The rise of Hannah Montana, the Cheetah Girls, and the Jonas Brothers. 5. The cancellation of Battlestar Galactica. 4. The disappointment of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. 3. The fall of the New York Yankees. Bush did own the Texas Rangers after all. 2. The Dharma Initiative was Cheney's idea. 1. Rosie O'Donnell, Doogie Houser, that dude from Grey's Anatomy and at least one Teletubbie going gay. Once Barack Obama's candidacy implodes and he is not elected, you can blame Bush and the Republicans for that too. |
If Perry runs against him, Obama will have one more vote and that is mine. I would rather see the economy stay down that freaky Perry in the WH.
|
I still would like to, even love to, hear what in the world makes Gov. Rick Perry "freaky".
The most business successful governor in the country, who's policies accounted for half the job growth in the country for the last 10 years. Rick Perry is a man who grew up on a ranch and in cotton fields, was an Eagle Scout with the Boys Scouts of America, graduated Texas A&M with a degree in animal science, joined the military and served with distinction and came home and married his childhood sweetheart and has been with her ever since. Where's the freaky? http://www.rickperryme.com/2011/07/w...ief-biography/ http://www.infoplease.com/biography/var/rickperry.html He must be more awesome than I think to scare so many leftists into slandering him to try to destroy his campaign chance. |
I 'm heartened by the fact that 53% of the people know that 2 unfunded wars, a unfunded presription plan, and tax cuts for the wealthiest probably were not good ideas and are not defensible hence the villager smart remarks. And by the way could someone ask Boehner where the jobs the the Repubs promised are.

Texas' job growth is an interesting study. Yes, there were more jobs, but the unemployment rate also went up. What that means is that there were more people coming into Texas than into other states. Perry would have a better claim to crow about if the unemployment rate at least stayed the same while creating more jobs.

Gov Perry is a nice man, except for being for open borders, big spending and is the most loved RINO running. We have to do better than this person.
Do some checking on his performance and stop listening to his mouth. Talk is cheap, actions are what count. Another vote for the "O" if the "P" is the RINO of the GOP. Let's get a real "R" and not a "D" acting like an "R." |
I have heard that a huge percentage of Texas's jobs are minimum wage positions. That is not going to keep a family of four taken care of in rent, food, transportation, and all the necessary expenses.
Once again, if around 90% of African-Americans, most Hispanics, most people under 30, students, and adult white Democrats have a choice of Rick Perry or Mitt Romney WITH a VP candidate such as Sarah Palin, Marco Rubio, Michelle Bachmann or some other extremist, there is NO WAY that they are NOT going to vote for the Democrat ticket. |
If the Vice President candidate made such a difference Joe "Gaffe- a- minute-Biden" would have made McCain the President. That is just plain silly.
|
From thes posts its pretty clear that voters are fed up with ineffective leaders. After three years Obama has had every opportunity to get us on track and he has not done so. In fact from almost every measure it has gotten worse. If he were the leader in Japan he would have bowed, apolgized for his failures and vacated long ago.

Rubicon,
I see and appreciate your viewpoint - but the text of my last posting tells it as it will happen: "Once again, if around 90% of African-Americans, most Hispanics, most people under 30, students, and adult white Democrats have a choice of Rick Perry or Mitt Romney WITH a VP candidate such as Sarah Palin, Marco Rubio, Michelle Bachmann or some other extremist, there is NO WAY that they are NOT going to vote for the Democrat ticket." |

You're too far removed from the youth, I think. I could be wrong, but I doubt it in this case. Obama's losing "them" fast. |

Richie,
I am not saying 100% of the under-30 crowd are going for Republicans. I would like to congratulate you on having a school teacher in your family. No, I do not think I am out of touch with the youths. Unfortunately, I see them at the Christian Food Pantry in Lady Lake getting a supply of groceries. The Food Pantry is not for the chronically unemployed but is a hand-up. No government money is taken there. I am quite sure those people are not going to vote for an extremist who will cut their small benefits any further. |

But it's still better if we try to get people back to work and off the dole. It's good for their, and our, soul. An environment for job growth is the single biggest favor we can do for the youth and the poor of this country. The ultimate goal should be for each person to enjoy self sufficiency. |

I think a lot of people viewing the president as their "savior" is a big part of the problem. Totally unrealistic, and idolatrous toward their Creator. |

Just a couple of quick things here. No, I am not to be applauded for volunteer work at the Christian Food Pantry. Just giving back a little that I have been so fortunate to receive. However, if anyone wants to donate non-perishable food or a check, the Food Pantry would be happy to accept it.
As I said in the previous post, the idea is not to sustain the clients long-term. Hopefully, they will find jobs that will pay them enough to take care of living expenses. No government money is being used for this project. The idea of the Food Pantry is a short term hand-up. ILOVETV - Our Food Pantry is non-political completely. "I'm pretty sure that the mission of most "Christian" food pantries is to remind people that Obama, nor any president, is not able to solve all their problems. Only God can do that." The mission of the Food Pantry is to help people have enough food to serve their families. It is 100% non-political. |

Well, if the youth around my daughters is any indication, Obama is still pretty safe.
Paraphrasing a lot of what I hear is "Well, Obama is disappointing, but there's no way I'd go back to the Republicans since they've declared war on me". The last part of that statement meaning how the GOP *in their eyes* wants to dismantle the government and put all their corporate cronies in charge. For example, my 23-year-old daughter pretty much NEEDS public transportation to get to her job. Certainly during the winter when even biking would not be an alternative. Yet the GOP hates mass transit. Now, she lives inthe Philadelphia area so she still has the public transit option. My younger daughter still lives here in NH and doesn't have that option. Believe me, I'm teaching her all I can about taking care of a car to make it last as long as possible. It's the only way she can get to work and college. |
I don't think that VillageGolfer understood my last posting about the Christian Food Pantry.
Neither ILOVETV nor I was comparing Obama to God. Sorry if the message was unclear to you. The Christian Food Pantry is 100% non-political. |

It would be nice, and I hope it does or can occur, where these same people can be afforded council and provided some inspiration and the tools on how to take their lives back in their own hands. It is far more rewarding to know you have made your own way. But, we sometimes need a hand to accomplish this. Sometimes I think charitable organizations, and I don't mean the one you volunteer with by any means, help to proliferate the problem by making it too easy and too comfortable to bother struggling any more. It's a real dilemma. |
Funny how Bugsy knows what I post when I am on his ignore list.:ohdear:

I've Hesitated To Reply
But finally I will with regard to Rick Perry. It's scary that someone who makes such dangerous statements and makes unsubstantiated promises can be so popular among about 30% of the electorate. What has Perry said?
--The practice of monetary policy by the Fed chairman is "treasonous". He offers no alternative, but it sounds good to partisans. --"Social Security is an attack on core American values." Again he offers no alternative to what has been a successful, albeit not financially, program for decades. What would he do, cancel the whole program? He never explains. --"Marriage is only between a man and a woman." OK, I believe that myself. But what do you do about all the Americans who are gay or lesbian and who aren't going to change? Should they be treated as lepers? Again, no alternatives from Mr. Perry. --And his claims that he's created so many jobs? Most analyses that I've seen show that about have the jobs created in Texas are government jobs, and another significant proportion are minimum wage jobs. At the same time, Perry has presided over a state that is one of the largest recipients of federal funding and whose state budget is badly in deficit, and like the federal government survives on the issuance of state debt. Remember that 30% of the electorate that support Perry. His problem--the problem of the GOP--is that he's aggravated or frightened such large blocks of voters, that he's unelectable in a General Election. He's gotta get more than 50% and his crazy and unsupported statements and campaigning almost guarantee that can't happen. If the GOP doesn't come up with a candidate who can be supported by more than only the extreme right wing religious and fiscal fringe of the party, they're guaranteeing the re-election of Barack Obama. I sure hope someone comes to their senses--and soon! |
VillageGolfer,

Social Security will have to be dealt with and, if I remember, you were kvetching about it yourself rather voraciously in the past , and now you want to castigate Gov. Perry for talking about it? Really? Gov. Perry, like most Christians (I'm not one of those) thinks that "marriage" should be between a man and a woman exclusively. You think the same way and somehow Gov. Perry is the neanderthal. What's your solution to this problem that you and Gov. Perry share? You want them to be lepers" Gov. Perry's policy's have accounted for 50% of the job growth in the U.S. for the last 10 yrs. Who has a better record, regardless of the Democrat talking points you've proffered. Texas has become the "go to" state if you're trying to work instead giving up and going on the dole. Hence, it's unemployment rate doesn't drop much, but growth cannot be denied. What you saying about Gov. Perry in your last paragraph are the same Democrat talking points they threw against the wall when it came to Gov. Ronald Reagan. It will fail again. |
Darn, Richie, your the man!!!!:crap2:

Well, no.................she doesn't know Texas has the highest job growth, but she's darn sure they have bad working conditions and bad education and gee, why don't you listen to this genius yourself.....she's sure is a credit to the administration. Yep, another idealist that really has no clue in the real world. Only 8% of B. Hussein Obama's administration has any private sector experience. All left-wing government hackers.
