That is what my husband said when I told him we are picking up one of my friends at 3:45 a.m. and heading to the square for the show.

I think this is the second time Fox news has broadcast from here.

Guest 09-15-2011 06:11 AM

I will be there bright and early, what a great thrill to watch Fox and Friends from Sumpter Landing. It will be a great time.

Guest 09-15-2011 12:51 PM

LOL, does Alfred E. know more then Martha?

Guest 09-15-2011 04:30 PM

Let's keep the discussion to the topic of a show being broadcast from the Villages and not stray into politics.

Guest 09-16-2011 07:41 AM

:bigbow:Yep! See what I mean...!

Guest 09-16-2011 07:47 AM

I think it is a great show with wonderful personalities.

Absolutely, and thank you for sticking to the topic! :coolsmiley:

Now if only we could get Jon Stewart's Daily Show here in TV . . . that would really make it "fair and balanced"

I am curious as to how praise of the show is "on topic" while criticism is not? IMHO if you choose to get your "news" from either Fox news OR MSNBC, you are learning little, and simply feeding your biases.

Right after Bill Mahrer's show at the Savannah Center.

It's simple in that the praise was clearly about Fox & Friends, which was the topic of the thread, whereas the critics have been directing their criticisms toward the Sun which wasn't even mentioned in the topic and DEFINITELY NOT the focus of the topic of this thread!

As for the second part of your post, what does that statement have to do with anything I said in my post? I can't for the life of me think of any justifyable reason why you would even make such a comment? Fox & Friends is an entertainment program and not a news program any more than say Jon Stewart's show or Bill Mahrer's show is! And I made absolutely no mention of, attracks on or comments about either FoxNEWS or MSNBC!

bobcat1....they all are. There are always a few who need their daily fix of putting the R pegs and the D pegs in a certain hole.

Those of us without such a manacle enjoy more there is to offer.

I might agree with that but then again if you only watch CNN or network news you are in the same boat except with a different oar. And if you can't see and realize that then you are biased as well.

CNN and Network news are largely unbiased in my opinion, though there can be rare exceptions. The extreme right has long labled them as the "liberal media", in an attempt to legitimize thier biased viewpoint, and discredit any negative news that may come from those sources. It is one of the successful strategies promoted by unelected puppet masters such as Carl Rove and Roger Ailes. That's my opinion and I don't expect many will agree with me -- so be it.

Anyways.......

I'm just thrilled I will get to see TV on TV! Since we haven't made it out to TV yet, and my husband has a lot of questions still, this should be good for us to get motivated and on that plane to TV. I (almost) don't care who's broadcasting, could be The Cartoon Network!

You might feel like your in a "Looney Toon" skit because you will feel wonderfully wacky after your visit. :D

Don't forget to bring your checkbook. :)

Liberals seemed to have been conditioned (in a kind of a Pavlov reaction) to immediately foam at the mouth, stiffen with anger, bulge their eyes and sometimes scream, or at least to mockingly laugh uncontrollably, whenever the stimulus of anyone mentioning FOX Network, for any reason, presents itself.

It's sad but someday, with extensive therapy, there might hope for remission.

Guest 09-16-2011 05:36 PM

:sad:If Fox news is as unbiased as Some say, where are the Liberals ? I see that they are going to interview Ollie North, I have the greatest respect for him as I too served in the Marines, but if you ever read his column or his books , boy what a liberal. As for Gov. Scott I am sure the teachers and other union members cannot wait to see him here in our backyard in our square, which is being disrupted as per parking and entertainment this weekend. Gosh did I say Liberals, I mean conseratives, What does it take to get unb iased speakers here.:0000000000luvmyhors

I don't know; maybe Foreigner who's going to perform with The Villages High School Choir in a promised soaring rendition of "I want to know what love is". A few of them are probably of the liberal persuasion.

I've never had a problem with Fox News because I never watch that channel. I grew up watching Huntley/Brinkley and still to this day I'll watch NBC for my news. For some reason I don't need to watch news channels all day, but sports channels, that's a different story.

Imagine if the developer of TV was person more like say, Art Rooney the owner of the Steelers, and he invited MSNBC or CNN morning news channels here. I believe the Republicans and especially the Tea Party fanatics would be out there Monday morning with all their signs and protests even more so than you're seeing from a few out-spoken democrats or independents. The Pendulum swings both ways.

Humor, it's good to sometimes recognise...........humor.

Not sure it is a good thing to have the television exposure no matter which network is doing it. How long will it be a "bubble" with mass exposure? Just wondering. :ohdear:

So am I gonna need to pack my boxing gloves to live in TV....:boxing2:...I certainly hope not. If it is truly paradise I hope to be able to listen to one and all and also speak to one and all without fear of being put down....I know I'm very naive........:icon_wink:
