NJ Gov. Chris Christie reconsidering Presidential candidacy
It seems the governor of N.J., Governor Chris (I won't run, I'm not ready, stop asking me) Christie is reconsidering entering the Republican Primary for President, after repeated appeals from several leading Republican donors and fundraisers.
Evidently he thinking about it after meetings in the past week with several notable Republican billionaires. According to a source of Newsmax familiar with the meeting, it was suggested that Gov. Christie seemed inclined to enter the race but that he needed more time. Gov. Christie has promised to make a decision "within two weeks," the source said. So, this race may get even more interesting. http://www.newsmax.com/Headline/Chri...9/23/id/412133 |
Geez, I Hope So...
Would he run as a Republican or as an independent?
Seems to me he might be better off letting that gang of 11 beat themselves up with some of the goofy stuff they're saying, and just go his own way as an independent. The big question is whether he'd be able to get on the state ballots as an independent. While he wouldn't get money from the GOP national committee, my guess is that that money would flood in. I know I'd make a contribution. Then he wouldn't be beholden to the various powerful factions in the GOP. That would be a very good thing, I think. Then again, I'm no political consultant. |
I agree 100% with VK.

Any Republican would be a fool, IMHO, to run as a third party candidate and Gov. Christie is no fool. |
He is fat.
That will eliminate him from consideration by all those "tolerant" folks that can't stand his straight talk on the effectiveness of being solvent instead of insolvent. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aw0aBkt8CPA[/ame] |

He's a fiscal conservative, a social moderate, coupled with a few liberal ideas besides. He can definitely grab Obama votes, and if he does wind up the Republican candidate, what else can we Republicans do but vote for him. We can worry about his "less than conservative" qualities later; maybe after he "cuts the government fat", so to speak. I'm not endorsing, but merely speculating. |
Good Company

John Adams was no slouch as a POTUS, and he was kinda tubby, often pictured with a double chin and a protruding gut.So Christie would be in good company as far as his avoirdupois is concerned. As far as your endorsement is concerned, Richie, c'mon get on the bandwagon with me. I'll endorse Christie in a nanosecond. He's light years better and more electable than all but one of the current GOP candidates. How long do the think it would take Christie to stick a flamethrower in an appropriate place in some of the word-parsing, negative, obstructionist, unproductive members of Congress? |

http://www.app.com/comments/article/...-save-hospital app article doesn't sound like much more than the gov being his bully self with the unions [not state unions] - but the links froom the post in the comments section off the article make me wonder why the gov is going to spend $5 - $11 million of state revenue to save a hospital that is being sold. some of the players seem a bit cozy, too. maybe i missed something somewhere? |

If people like my sister in law voted for Obama because he "talks good" I can see people not voting for Christie because he is fat.
Heck, I can see guys voting for the thin woman and not the fat female. |

Did not take long for Christie to take advantage of the perks of his job
"two trips on a State Police helicopter to get to his son's baseball games." Good Luck - Christie - just think what you could do if you were the president Nice try, Christie - did not think anyone was watching |

or better yet....

It's ILLEGIAL, but he continues to get away with it. Nice try, Obama - did not think anyone was watching. Of course you did, and that's the point. |
Until such times that ALL potical campaignes are PUBLIC financed, say to only 100K each candidate then there will be abuse of the system. Make it an even playing field then watch and see who really wants to run for public office. Money talks, really loud and the more you can get the louder your message that seems to be more and more BS.

If the usual rhetoric that goes something like because Obama is black he will carry the black vote(s)...again.
Does that mean because Christie is lebeled "fat" and over 40% of Americans are obese, that he will carry the vote of the obese/fat folks? Will create a new dilema for the obese or fat blacks. For those who look for possible racist tones....there are none intended here. Just stating parameters for voting blocks by categories just like they do every single day in the media. No more racist than the commentary about Obama carrying the black vote. None intended, but I am sure the twisters can find something to work on. btk |
Interesting, does this mean that 90% of the unstable people voted for Pelosi?

"... voting for the worst President in history."
Though her motivation may be questioned, I admire her for getting it right. Worst president in history? In the paper this morning there was a list of presidents with lower ratings then Obama. Both Bushes were on that list, as was Carter. I think it was 17 who had lower ratings. REALITY CHECK! |
:laugh::laugh::laugh:
Lists are a dime a dozen and they change daily. No credit at all. |

He should get in or shut up. I am not sure that we need him. I'm sure, we don't. |

I thinke I'd actually vote for him after he jumped all over the tea party and the way congress is currently treating the disaster relief for those four states..Disgusting spoiled brats....

This image-obsessive culture of ours continues to push us downward into total banality.
Chris Christie possible entrance is welcomed but so would Paul Ryan and Marco Rubio. The reason is there are too many left over candidates campaigning now. Those candidates will fare no better this time around. Rick Perry being as subtle as a train wreck approach is his demise. Romney's insistence his health care plan was good flies in the face of logic given the problems MA. is having. I would have had more respect for him had he admitted it was a mistake. Beside which there is anything he saying that grabs my interest. The presidential 2012 race is one GOP can win and it is only through their own mistakes that it will be lost. The GOP party needs to get its act together |
villagegolfer, must have been that 90% voting for her. She got re-elected.

Check out the people who voted for President Obama AND will vote for him again. They are 90%+ African-Americans, most Hispanics, most Democrats, most under 35 year olds, most college-educated people, most people out of a job, most people who are not in the upper-middle class, so this does not a great number to vote Republican.
Add in the factor that a neo-facist Tea Party favored Republican extremist will drive away the moderate Republican vote either to the Democrat side or just to stay at home - and you have a perfect win for President Obama again. |
