Popular Cocktails of TV

Wonder what kind of cocktails the Froggies are drinking in TV? And at which joints the best are available? Would the first choice be a Dry Martini or Manhattan? Am I bringing northern tastes to the south? Would it be Mohito, Mint Julep, or Sangria? A cool Gin Tonic or Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary from 10 a.m? A Marguarita or Daiquiri? I wouldn't mind a Planter's Punch or Pina Colada under a grass schack. It's always 5 o'clock in TV.:):icon_wink:

villagegolfer 09-24-2011 10:17 AM

One of our Sunday morning golfers brings a Bloody Mary in a thermos. He always plays better after 3 holes.;)

pooh 09-24-2011 10:28 AM

Not all the froggies drink alcoholic beverages. You can drink whatever your heart fancies! Whatever you fancy, enjoy!

Probably would be easier to list the ONES NOT being drunk in TV. Myself I've found TGIF to be very relaxing, great AC, good prices & selection and the foods pretty darn good. For outside I'd have to say Red Sauce or Cody's. This is just my opinion!

:icon_wink:I think this was a message about cocktails, not food
As for me, I've gotten tired of G&T's and Margaritas by Labor Day, back to Scotch & Soda or an icy dry martini.

Guess your right. I usually associate one with the otherr. I'm a rum man myself!

There are 3 holdouts.

The Villages, is a "Drinking community with a golf cart problem."

zcaveman 09-24-2011 11:02 AM

Bloody Marys, Vodka and orange juice, Don Q Silver Rum and coke, Black Russians and Budweiser.

villagegolfer 09-24-2011 11:09 AM

Yuengling Light and an occasional shot.

Oren L Miller 09-24-2011 11:32 AM

Drinks on the house

Sangira or Amaretto and cranberry juice.

TommyT 09-24-2011 12:30 PM

Drinks

White Russians...

keithwand 09-24-2011 12:42 PM

Manhattans (Bourban), Chardonay (because it's hot here), Cabernet and Craft beer in that order.
Glad to hear there are Villagers who appreciate a cocktail(s) every night.
Just be sensible before driving.

brostholder 09-24-2011 12:46 PM

Some of those weird happy hour combinations at the square aren't bad after the third or fourth sip. My preferences are single malt scotches, Guinness, or almost any Belgium beer.

Pat_RI 09-24-2011 12:58 PM

Craft beers? Where are you buying them or which places serve them? Thanks.

Golf-Tinker 09-24-2011 12:59 PM

Dry Rob Roy

Dry Rob Roy, straight with twist and ice on the side. Add a splash of Drambuie to make it a Robert Burns.

krash 09-24-2011 02:46 PM

I thought the official "Village Cocktail" was water with lemon

I don't know Mount Gay Rum. But with lime juice and ice it sounds lovely. I think I'm gonna love living in TV.:a040:

Amaretto and cranberry, sounds like something I need to try. I like most drinks with amaretto in them. Oren, what are the proportions you use when mixing this drink?

I make a great punch type drink if you like sweet.
For a pitcher full:
3 Cups Cranberry Juice Cocktail (I have been using Ocean Spray have not tried 100% juice)
2 Cups OJ
1 Cup Vodka
1 Cup Amaretto (DiSaronno of course!)

schotzyb 09-24-2011 08:07 PM

I keep mine simple; either an ice cold Michelob Ultra or Jack Daniels and Ginger Ale.

mrfixit 09-24-2011 08:53 PM

Don't drink...BUT..if I did....

..... Dark Roast Coffee w/ a shot of Cointreau on the side....

Most people I meet here don't drink as much as I expected.

Sweetie; Canadian Club Manhattan with just a TOUCH of Vermouth.... or an icy extra dry vodka Martini.

Me. Odouls on a very hot day, or an icy Real Lemonade. I used to like Dewars on the rocks.

I love strong coffee with half and half...if you're buying.

Mount Gay, is nice smooth golden rum. We buy it in the USA to bring back to Uk, as it is half the price!!

2BNTV 09-25-2011 10:17 AM

Any good beer like Yuengling, Rolling Rock, Blue Moon, etc.

Dewars with water. Just enough to feel relaxed.

Gracie: I'll buy you coffee anytime. Bring Henry and Helene. :)

Yorio 09-25-2011 11:20 AM

Coffee

Now what's a good coffee? Folger's? Nescafe? Blue Mountain? Espresso, Capuccino or Irish Coffee? I see old folks like us in Italy at a Bar around 8 a.m. drinking coffee with some liquor in it. There is a name for it but I forgot and I have nothing in my coffee except a good Paul Newman blend.

Expresso with added Sambucca for sweetness and is a shot of liquor.

Anisette is added for people who want sweetness but not the strong kick of liqour in their coffee.

daily, I drink a Hazelnut blend of coffee and I drink it black, nothing added.

Had Shorts, Bells, Jolly Pumpkin etc. in MI during the summer.
Sam Adams is still considered a craft beer but barely.
3 bars in Orlando serve Craft beer on tap with 1 bar that has 180 on tap!
Total Wine has craft beer and in numerous varieties. You can buy it by the bottle to check it out first. Most seem to be $1.59 plus.

momesu 09-25-2011 07:47 PM

Reading all this thread is making me thirsty. I think if it is wet I like it....but I have to say I like it dark.....
Red wine
Stout and Porter beers
Bourbon Whiskeys
Strong coffee and black
and as for sodas only colas.......
I know probably weird for a female....but that's my choices in beverages.
Even in chocolate the darker the better!

Suzanne

Tommy T---White Russians are the drink but next time you have one tell the bartender or waitress to put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top
