I would venture to say that is not the Mormon definition. Southern baptist refer the my faith, Methodist as less than godly. If you get right down to it, every faith has a little bit of cultism in it. I agree that Methodist do not beat members in the head with a bible at every meeting, but I like it that way. Baptists seem to believe that only they do it right and in my opinion, baptist are the closest denomination we have in this country that you could classify as religious extremist. Shameful.

Calling Baptists shameful will not win many friends down here. I grew up as a Baptist up North and they are some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to know.

It is definitely sad that certain Christian denominations are arrogant and prideful about their own particular minor interpretations, especially when they think that they are the "only" ones to have the right way. I notice that the two groups you mention are both Christian groups. Wouldn't it make much more sense that they come together on their common beliefs regarding eternal aspects of the Christian faith?!

Saw Alex Witt interview with him today on MSNBC. He did not appear to me to come across as a nut or extremist. He said his faith influences who he votes for. That's a strong difference with many who do not do the same. While Jeffress said he would vote for Romney against Obama. He went on to say that since Mormons do not follow teachings of Jesus Christ as the Son of God, they can't be called Christians. Makes sense to me. He also said that over 30 million Evangelical Christians stayed home rather than vote for McCain, resulting in Obama winning by 10 million votes.

While I think Mormonism has a lot of false teachings and secret rituals, Romney's public life is what matters as a candidate for public office.

Romney has held public office and has been in the public eye for quite some time. If anyone were able to come up with an example of him injecting his religion into his work in public office, there would be reason for concern. So far, I don't see any.

He conducts himself honorably and decently and he puts this nation first. When he takes the oath of office, he will keep his word.

Harry Reid, Orin Hatch, and Jon Huntsman are also Mormons. They don't inject their religion into their public office or work either.

Romney will do fine if elected. He's a brain and totally dedicated to this nation.

One the fence with this one. We are a nation whose foundation is Judeo-Christian values. We have already seen what a non-Christian President can do...

Guy leaves New England on I 95 south. Going thru Penn, he sees a sign that says phone call directly to GOD $3.50 per minute. As he is going thru Virginia, he sees a sign that says phone call directly to GOD $1.25 per minute. When he drives into Georgia, he sees a sign that says phone call directly to GOD 10 Cents per minute. Well this has him intrigued, so he stops and gos into the building and asks why it so much cheaper to talk to GOD in Georgia. The man replies that is is a local call from here.

That's pretty funny! I know alot of places (many far from Georgia) where the people think it to be a local call!
Seriously, Methodist and Baptist are so close in doctrine, it's ridiculous to even have harsh words between the two. Both have produced good men. Two of the most famous Baptists I can think of are Billy Graham and Oswald Chambers, "author of My Utmost for His Highest" which is a classic expose' on Unconditional Love and Limitless Forgiveness. Charles and John Wesley who founded the Methodist movement, encouraged people to experience Jesus personally...sounds just like Billy Graham to me. John Wesley was originally moved by the works of Martin Luther to preach his first sermon on God's grace "free in all, and free for all." Interesting that all these resulting denominations would wage wars against each other. Reminds me of the bickering of siblings...which so painfully affects the hearts of the mother and Father.
