Obamacare Unraveling
|
Why are you happy that the Long Term Care has been taken out of the health plan?
Do you have Long Term Care insurance for you and your wife? Actually is a good thing to have. |
I view ObamaCare as a hindrance to business. Whether it is fair or not, Obamacare is frightening business owners. People need jobs and businesses are skeptical.

it was destined to unravel and crash before it was passed. As far as Obama is concerned, he got what he wanted a bill passed with some intention in the content to be good for everybody. Remember when it was flailing around in congress, he said he did not care what it wound up being finally....just get something passed. And they did. And he can claim that.
But just like all the other MAJOR issues, whether anything really comes to reality or expectation simply does not bother Obama. Politicians have the attention span of a gnat. And an intention span even smaller. The proof is in the end results (not ocurring.....consistently). btk |

AP "The law required the administration to certify that CLASS would remain financially solvent for 75 years before it could be put into place. But officials said they discovered they could not make CLASS both affordable and financially solvent while keeping it a voluntary program open to virtually all workers, as the law also required. Monthly premiums would have ranged from $235 to $391, even as high as $3,000 under some scenarios, the administration said. At those prices, healthy people were unlikely to sign up. Suggested changes aimed at discouraging enrollment by people in poor health could have opened the program to court challenges, officials said. "If healthy purchasers are not attracted ... then premiums will increase, which will make it even more unattractive to purchasers who could also obtain policies in the private market," Kathy Greenlee, the lead official on CLASS, said in a memo to Sebelius. That "would cause the program to quickly collapse." That's the same conclusion a top government expert reached in 2009. Nearly a year before the health care law passed, Richard Foster, head of long-range economic forecasts for Medicare, warned administration and congressional officials that CLASS would be unworkable. His warnings were disregarded, as President Barack Obama declared his support for adding the long-term care plan to his health care bill." http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories...M_CARE_PROGRAM |

Actually DaleMN is really a nice guy he just is having fun being a nudge and my being influenced for some many years under the "Minnesota Nice eagerly agrees that he should have that opportunity. On the serious side others poster are spot on in their explanation that the CLASS act was only designed to pay for ObamaCare benefits up front and in reality would never have come to fruition. Never have we had a more deceptive president in our history than Obama |

If that about sums up your thinking and you have nothing more to add, you should know we all get it by now. So then what's point, if any, are you trying to make with all the "silly" bomb throwing? It adds nothing, and subtracts nothing, and is just mildly annoying. Is that all you wish to contribute to the discussions; your sense of annoyance? If so, your job is done. It's your privilege, but it's very uninspired IMHO. |

Lots of meaningless back and forth here but I did ask a question earlier on about long term care.
Do any of you understand that your health insurance or Medicare does not pay for long term care? You will be responsible until you have no assets and then a minimum amount will be paid by Medicaid. This minimum will not get you into a very nice nursing home but it will be paid BY THE GOVERNMENT. As seniors in The Villages, check out for your own good the long term care insurances offered by private insurance companies. The younger and healthier you are when you enroll - and start paying premiums - the cheaper it is. Just a word to the future thinking people out there. No agruing intended, just presenting a little bit of fact. |
A couple posters on this thread need to act their age. I've seen 6 year olds more mature than some of you with your back and forth banter. That's not debating but it sure is immature.
