Do you have a plan to stay healthy on Thanksgiving?
Will you be eating a 3,000 calorie meal of high fat, high starch, high sodium, high sugar foods? :loco:

Love all the responses! Chill out and enjoy Thanksgiving!

I have a plan, hope I stick to it. Since I will be away from TV I have to adjust my workout routine. Plan what you'll eat and you'll eat what you plan. I know it sounds boring , but you gotta do what you gotta do.
Enjoy the day. |

Eat everything in moderation.....then go back for seconds on dessert! Suzanne |
I think I'll be good for Thanksgiving - only because I will be just getting off a cruise and will need a few days to digest all that food. (Burp)

Hmmmm, not sure what we are eating for Thanksgiving yet. We are renting a place for Thanksgiving week in TV so we can pick out all the stuff for our new place which we are actually going to start to build. WooHoo! Being not in our own home at that time, not really knowing what is or not available to whip up a Thanksgiving meal, I don't think we will be having one. So, guess that is healthy, right? And then on Black Friday while everyone is out shopping we will be meeting with our design consultant or whoever they set you up with to set everything in writing of our choices. For us, yes, a very different Turkey Day, but a beginning of a new future home which should be ready in a few months!

Last Thanksgiving I had fresh wild salmon, baked yams, fresh green beans, salad, fruit, wine ~~ :beer3: Wishing my TV-friends a very Happy Holiday season from the "still-A-wannabee" (Rosalee) |
Where I think there's room for improvement:
If anyone is looking for a place to cut back, there's no need to have both stuffing and bread at the same meal. And no need to have both sweet potatoes and mashed (white) potatoes with gravy. Green beans could replace corn. And it's always good to have a big salad.
I once went to a Thanksgiving dinner where the hosts put the above ideas into practice. All the guests appreciated it (for health reasons) and the hosts didn't have to work as hard to get the meal ready. There was stuffing, sweet potatoes, Italian green beans, a big salad and perhaps one or two other low calorie items. Pie and coffee was served about one hour later. It was very enjoyable and not gut-busting. (This year I'll skip the coffee and just have some fruit for dessert.) |
