it looks like newt is beginning to shape up into our best prospect to appeal to conservatives and independents and maybe even some democrats who are no longer enthralled with president obama....no one can deny he is intelligent, knows the ropes, and will not be a doormat to any other country nor the UN.

He's rising in the polls at the right time. The liberals media war machine is frantically trying to dig up new dirt on him. They can't run on issues.

LOL - what a coincidence. Was just looking at this polling data this morning. It's nice how you cherry pick. The results you show there are part of a RCP Average of seven polls in which Rasmussen is the ONLY pollster to show Gingrich leads Obama. Even Fox gives Obama a 5 point lead. It is also worth noting, the Rasmussen data is the only poll based on likely voters, while all the others are based on registered voters. And unless Scotty has changed his sampling, they ONLY contact those with land lines, who tend to be older and white.

Here's the RCP link. Obama beats every announced R candidate quite handidly. In fact these numbers for Obama are better than last month's.

The R's have their candidate and it ain't Newt.

So sorry if you want to accuse me of "cherry picking". I work 10 hour days, 45 minutes from home. This makes for a long day, so I choose wisely what I spend time reading online. One of my favorites is the Drudge Report. This link happens to have come from that site. I also never watch the liberal media TV stations, so haven't really a clue about other poll results from this week, but thought Rasmussen to be very reputable.:oops:

I am just curious and have never asked someone who is clearly for Obama what they expect will happen in the economy and the world in general if Obama wins.
Do you think it will be better than the last four years?
Do you think everybody will just start getting along.
If not and it stays the same for the next four years are you fine with that.

Tell me what you think will happen with him as our president for another four years.

The media building you liberals up for a huge disappointment. Obama's rating just keep going down, down, down. He's lower than Carter was at this point. Remember that back then they were telling you that Reagan couldn't win.

Obama's team is trying to find a way to transmogrify Obama into Harry Truman, about the only President to win reelection with as dismal an approval rating as Obama has.

But, you liberals keep beating that drum. It at least keeps you busy.

I'd love to see Newt and Obama debat the issues head to head. No doubt Newt would absolutely crush him.

I don't agree with your analysis. A conservative candidate is exactly who'll be elected, and right now I may take bets that Newt is the next President.

Mitt hasn't risen in the polls for months. He stagnant as swamp water.

I am a Romney supporter, but would be happy to vote for Newt if he is given the go ahead from the GOP. I personally have not read anything that would turn me away from the booth if he is the REP choice. OH, by the way, I listen to MSNBC also, so I don't want to hear that FOX has clouded my gray matter.

All the Drudge Report does is to link to stories from around the world in a sort of clearing house. There's no editorial content, just links to these stories you might not have otherwise known about.

Actually I am more concerned about the senate and house races then I am the presidential since it does not seem to matter who is in the WH...it is congress that is really screwing us.

In another post on this thread you called Newt a conservative. Two days ago, I would have agreed with you. But yesterday Rush gave him a working over. He said the liberals don't like Newt because they see him as a conservative but the Tea Party doesn't like him because they don't think he's conservative enough.

And this morning he was interviewed by Glenn Beck. What an interview! I'm sure you will hear about it. It was tough and, in my opinion, Newt didn't exactly come across as a conservative. After the interview, Beck called him a progressive. One reason is because Newt was a big supporter of the prescription (Part D) drug plan and still is. He defends it to this day. Another reason is because of his stand on climate control. His sitting on the couch with Nancy Pelosi and agreeing with her was not a one time deal. Evidently, he has stated over and over (sound clips were played) that he believes something needs to be done to control carbon emissions. Then, I believe there was something about him once being in favor of a single payer health care system. But I don't remember the details on that.

The bottom line: Beck said that Newt has a strong tendency to come up with plans to solve problems through government programs. In other words, he's a right-wing progressive.

I'm now thinking about giving my vote to Michele Bachmann.

I am glad to see that people are going to give their vote to Michelle Bachmann. A couple of reasons it makes me glad.

First, she is NOT going to be the G'Noper candidate and their write-in of Bachmann is another vote for Pres. Obama.

Second, if by some long shot, Michelle does get on the G'Noper ticket even as VP candidate, American voters are really turned off by this Minnesota crazy. How does Minnesota elect their officials? Michelle Bachmann, Al Franken, and Jesse "The Body" Ventura are all laughing stocks that were elected by Minnesotans.

Anyhow, Gingrich would be toast, too, if he were the candidate - no matter who the VP candidate would be. It would be most negative campaign on both sides we would have to endure, too.

Anyone remember when Obama went to the GOP congressional pow-wow and took questions from GOP reps, and handled them so well that Faux News cut away with 20 minutes left? No teleprompter there.

This myth - and that's what it is - that Newt could beat Obama in a debate - is totally laughable.

Newt has performed well in the debates so far, due to who he is debating against. This is the Faux News nonsense that New is the smartest man in the room. Of course, the room has to be full of other R's for that to be true. Obama's reelection team has to be salivating at the thought of debating Newt. But, they are preparing for Romney, who will be the R nominee.

Have you even been listening to the conservative commentators on Fox News? Except for maybe Sean Hannity, they're not exactly in Newt's corner. You just like to point to that network because you think it adds substance to your comments, but you really don't have any idea what you're talking about, it seems.

As far as Romney being the candidate; have you seen the latest Gallup Poll?

Gingrich is at 37% to Romney 22% (his number never changes much) in a nationwide polls. Still early and things can happen, but....................

I don't read the Daily Sun and split my TV news among Fox, CNN, BBC America and prefer the WSJ because it has very detailed accounts of congrssional bills and follows with the monetary affect on various organizations and people.

I beginning to believe the Republicans need to raise taxes because based on cost estimates Obama's vacations are costing taxpayers in the millions and millions. I aplogize for the mistake.

Do you have a total dollar amount for Obama's vacation costs as compared to Juniors during his first 3 years? And the total number of days Junior spent on vacation as opposed to Obama?

Now, don't forget to count in the dollars spent by Junior's daughters on their numerous drinking binges in NYC - including SS protection, and the $$ spent by the NYPD (including OT) driving them around Manhattan while they sobered up.
