golf cart shopping

I am 3 weeks new to the villages and shopping for a gas golf cart. Hoping that some of you will share your opinon with the various dealers here both pros and cons. Been to Masters and not impressed because he didn't seem knowlegable, Grandma and Granpas was well informed but aggressive, and the Villages store seems pricey. I saw an add today about "Discount golf cart world" does anyone have any advice on these or other dealers?
Thanks

Go see and talk with the people at Carts and Clubs just south of Ocala (new Yamaha carts and anything used). Though the differential between their pricing and what you'll see at The Villages Golf Car store(s) isn't nearly as much as it used to be, I feel they offer some things of consequence on their carts that is not offered by TV's store.

You can also try the Search function on this forum - lots and lots of previous threads regarding golf cart feedback.

Bill :)

After reading several comments, all positive about Carts & Clubs in Ocala, we went there today and ordered ourselves a new Yamaha gas cart. We'll have to wait about 5 weeks for delivery but we're in no hurry! I expected that the price could have been higher, but thankfully it was around what we hoped for! :MOJE_whot:

Re Golf Carts

Out of curiosity for Gas Golf Carts...Do the owners drive them to gas stations nearby or store gas in gas cans? What is the usual practice from those that own gas carts? Thanks..

You'll find opinions on both practices. It'll depend on your mindset about storing full gas cans in your garage versus with how often you find yourself close by a golf cart accessible gas station while out in your cart.

Me? We're down by the "always reliable" Shell station at Colony often enough when we're in TV that we just swing in there for a fill-up. You can go far enough on a tank of fuel that happening by a gas station usually won't be a problem.........so long as you don't wait til the tank's running dry!

Bill :)

Another nod for Carts and Clubs. They are knowledgeable, include all the "Villages ready" equipment on their used carts, are competitively priced and provide great service.

We drive our gas cart to the nearest Villages gas station for fill up.

Use The Villages golf Cars

From my experience don't believe that if it is "the Villages" and close and convienent and accessable via golf cart they are more expense. I have found the opposite they (businesses in the Villages) are usually competative and nice to do business with. The Villages Golf Cars sells over 300 golf carts a month! I've not heard a real horror story about them. You cant have that kind of volumn and be lousy or expensive.

They also provide a few little extra services that the others just can't.

Totally agree. Great cart, fair price, excellent product. We've been very happy with our cart from them

Just purchased one from Carts and Clubs. Tom the sales manager was excellent in helping us make our choices. We chose the options on the top package that suited our needs. Will be delivered the day after we move to the villages (Sanibel) on Feb7th 2012.

See you all around town

Mike

Congratulations! I'm glad you decided to go with Carts and Clubs. What color did you get? (So we can be looking for you on the trails!) Today the wind came up strong, the rain blew sideways, but we stayed snug and dry. Ted Dunlap and his helpers craft a tight cart and we so appreciated that today. Be sure to wave when you pass us!!

golf cart shopping

Thanks for all the advice. I really appreciate your time and insights.

Black with all sorts of (needed) goodies Carts and Clubs with the names Mike and Vera on the cart. Looking forward to using it on February 8th 2011. Needless to say Tom at Carts and Clubs was extremely helpful and courteous and I highly recommend this company.

We just went to Carts and Clubs yesterday looking to replace our old Club electric car with a new gas one. Their carts seemed a tad more expensive but when you look at the many differences in them compared to the ones at the Villages store it is well worth it. We were very impressed! While we're still in the looking process they are #1 on our list at the moment.

Another happy Carts & Clubs customer. Just bought from them a few months ago. I love the cart and their service.
Bought first cart from Discount Cart World last year - their service leaves a lot - a real lot to be desired - stay away from them. Their warranties are in-house only, not manufacturer's

Like others have said, Tom was great to work with. He even lives in the same Village we do. He told us 5 weeks for delivery but the cart was ready considerably before it was promised. The purchase also included one free year of service by Village **** Aide which includes rescue service, roadside flat tire repair, emergency towing, no limits on calls and more. So far we have no complaints what-so-ever.

We spent 3 hours with them as my Wife was being very careful to make sure everithing went together. At one time or another we had half of the people there helping us from Tom to the service guys in the back helping us make the right choice. Everyone was very helpful and we never felt like we needed to rush. There were times that Tom and I sat in his office while one of the service guys was talking to my wife, showing her how things would go together. Would buy from them again.

Since being here we have purchased 3 carts. One Yamaha from the villages cart store, a club car from the club car dealer on 441, and the last one from Carts and Clubs. I can heartily recommend Carts and Clubs.

John
