I think the least the Morses could do . . . .
. . . is publish a map showing all the planned improvements south of 466A. Unless, of course, they don't have a plan yet. But I find that hard to believe.

That's a good question.... I've asked before if there is a master plan but never found anything publicly available. I think the number of golf courses, rec centers, major roads, etc are pretty much determined.
But, I think the Developer likes to maintain some flexibility on specifics so that he can meet changing demands or market conditions. For example, the new bungalows up on 466 next to Morse blvd was originally intended to be commercial space, but, I assume he found it easier to build and sell houses than more commercial space, so, the plan was adapted. As far as amenities, think of the paddle tennis at SeaBreeze...something different that was requested by residents...probably not in the original plan. So, I think they do tweak the plan as they go along. If anyone has seen a detailed master plan, please share. |

I'm not sure if was intended to be publicly available, but it is online. PM me if you want the link. Pete |
Pete, any chance you could post the link here? Seems like something many of us would like to look at and would be a royal pain for you constantly have to PM the link.

Anyway, the map can be accessed through http://www.thevillages.com/newslette...ghborhoods.htm. Just select any unit listed and it will bring you a popup of the map. Just expand or shrink it using the + - indicators. You may need to scroll the map to see Brownwood by using you mouse or pad while holding the left mouse/pad button. |
of course there is a master plan. Out in the open in their executive conference rooms.
And don't forget the reality that there may be a plan but no takers yet and hence nothing to announce. And of course they do not announce in advance to keep their options open until a deal is done, signed, sealed and committed. Things have a way of changing...like the bowling alley to be on Old Mill Run across from the book store. btk |
Billy. You wanted the bowling alley across from the bookstore? You heard from a reliable source there would be one?
I am trying to find out how the furnished Seabrook model in our new neighborhood was sold withOUT the furniture. I didn't think that EVER happened. Those Morses have to get up prrrettty early in the morning to stay ahead of all us villagers who are trying to figure out what they are doing. I love that part. Watching what they are doing. I never cease to be amazed. |

As for stores etc. -- no point announcing plans for them until a lease is signed. TV is very good about letting us know what's coming (newspaper, Vmail) as soon as a deal is closed. |

Thanks for the link, Skyguy. It's kind of hard to sort out the information - I see several neighborhood rec centers but no regional rec centers. I don't see any big commercial spaces.

www.thevillagescommercialproperty.com/index.asp The two links, Bogie's and mine, look the same when appearing here in the posts. But hover your cursor over the links (don't click) and you'll notice a difference. ajbrown did all the research on this situation of accessing direct links to TV web sites: https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...ad.php?t=26137 Bill :) |

Yep, the ol' tried and true cut-and-paste will work as well. :)
The problem with TV's own web sites has to do with "referrer links" - in this case, they are declining referring links from TOTV. See aj's post #10 in that TOTV thread link I posted above. The gobbledygook - 'referer.us' - stuff that's tacked into the link I posted to TV's commercial property web site is what makes the link anonymous to TV's web site - thus it allows it to link. Google 'anonymize referrer links' (without the single quotes) for other web sites that will do the same thing. Use one of these with the TV link of your choice then copy the URL/forum link version into your post and you're good to go! Bill :) |
the space on the corner from the bookstore on Old Mill Run was in negotiations for a bowling alley for months. They were unable to reach agreement on satisfactory lease terms...the project went dead. Then became available for medical support buildings.

I do believe I have seen a map that covers the entire area south of 466a but it did not show just what was going in to each storefront on the square. I think I found it in one of the meeting agendas for the Sumter county commissioners. It would take a little digging on the County agenda web site but that is the first place where any general map would be posted.
