An Ann Coulter I could Like
 

I just finished reading a column by Ann Coulter (aka wordsmith babe) that normally appears in the Sunday's edition of the Daily Sun.

As I recollect there are a number of TOTV members who have an immense dislike for the wordsmith babe.

Ann Coulter apparently wants to single handedly stop Newt Gingrich's run for president in its tracks. In her usual soft spoken approach she resurrects Newt's political life including his love afffair with the Tollers. I do not desire to steal her thunder so leave the details to her. Following this read I anticipate the following:

Liberals may fall in love with Ann;albeit for thirty seconds. They will let out a loud cheer and toast with champagne.

Romney Republicans will also rejoice but since Republicans are conserative it will be in a more restrained and reserved fashion (wink wink).

Newt Republicans will be crushed and wonder aloud just whose side Ann's on.

I prefer Newt over Romney and while holding my nose will pull the lever for him because he has the most effective profile to get the job done in 2013. Keep in mind that whomever walks into that job in January 2013 is walking into a widow maker and it is going to take an individual with a no nonsense approach. There is only one person campaigning that has the intelligence, moxey, experience and aggressiveness to make those hard decisions. What makes us good makes us bad and reviewing Newt's triumphs as well as his faux pas leads me to believe that he still is the best choice out of a bad lot because those negatives about newt if directed properly will serve us well.

Make no mistake the media is pushing for Romney and IMHO it is subterfuge because this liberal media believes Obama has a fighting chance against Romney.

Finally no matter what, I will vote for any Republican over the likes of Obama.

Gotta disagree here rubi. First, I do not buy into the "liberal media" tag, as they are mostly journalists who are simply looking for a story, wherever the chips fall. There are some that take a liberal stance and some that take a conservative stance, but most, not to include the opinion peddlers, are pretty apolitical. Secondly, if the media were taking some conspiratorial postition to swing the election to obama, they would not in my opinion, be pushing romney. In the coming election all right wingers will vote for the republican, as will virtually every registered republican anywhere on the spectrum. All left wingers will vote for obama, as will most dems anywhere on the spectrum. However, I beleive there are a large number of dems who are moderates, who would vote for a viable republican. I also think that most independents would vote for a viable republican. IMO that group of moderate dems and independents would be very likely to vote for romney, but a great many would not vote for newt. Who knows, it may get muddled up and another candidate who could appeal to the middle may emerge, but right now I beleive romney is the best bet for republicans to win the WH.

If you don't see that the major media is liberal and biased, that explains a lot. You might be one of the last to not see it. Even UCLA sees it.

eweissenbach: My verbage leaves the impression that it is a conspiracy of sorts and that was not my intent. Most journalist are liberal and greatly outnumber conservative journalist but whether liberal or conservative their biases, etc leak into their writings/reporting. Just saying. Ann does a number on Newt wow!

Okay, but what say you about my theory that the the media would logically not support romney if they want obama to win?

Can't get much more liberal than UCLA, and even they acknowledge the liberal bias of the major media. I'm just saying.

I do agree Ms. Coulter does not seem too fond of Newt. I'll still be voting for him though. I don't think much is going to change from now 'till the Florida primaries.

Newt will do a number on Newt. Just give him enough rope and he will hang himself.

Maybe they have their Romney bashing campaign all locked and loaded as we speak. They pushed McCain on us until he was the candidate, and then thrashed him while all the while kneeling before "The One"

It could be that they, like many, thought Romney would be the assured opponent of Obama is November. So, I'm guessing they have all their strategies, including the McCain 200 page opposition report and "October surprises" ready for this occurrence.

Just a theory based on many years of campaign watching.

looks like the liberal media need not bother with Newt although he is such an easy target. It looks like Coulter and Romney will take care of him for them.

Well Ann (wordsmith babe) is beating Newt over the head again in Sunday's paper. She forgets that the benefit of Newts emergence is that this bombastic so and so as she calls him is getting someone ready to go nose to nose with Obama. Again i won't know who I will vote for until I pull that lever or mark my X

It will be interesting to see how coulter, brooks, and michael savage, among others in the right wing media, respond if gingrich becomes the republican standard bearer. It will take some furious spinning to take their recent words back.

They will, though. They'll be quickly on the "anybody but Obama" express. You can bank on it. They've all had much more venom for Obama anyway, and that will be their reasoning.

This is right:

I have several die-hard democrat friends/relatives who say they made the mistake once..... but not a 2nd time....by voting for Obama. They said the same thing when Bush was up for 2nd election....."won't make the same mistake again". They can't stand Newt and are going for Romney.

The one good thing of having Newt up in the polls is that he will keep the other candidates on their toes and fighting ready for the real battle....well maybe it won't be a battle...more like the mouse that roared

Newt is more like "the Mouth that roared".

Does anyone remember seeing the movie, "The Mouse That Roared"? Definitely a great movie and starred Peter Sellers in 3 roles in the movie.
