Why does my cat?

Why does my cat like to stand with her two front feet in the toilet bowl? Then she jumps on my lap and drips all over me.
Anyone else's cat exhibit such bizarre behavior?:loco:

The cat is hungry and waiting for a fish to go by.

Not here! Mine don't even like to get their paws wet at all... except for their licking of course. This brought back memories of our first cat Sandy (a Siamese) too many years ago when she was a kitten. We heard her crying like meow from our bathroom and when we went in to check on her there she stood in the toliet bowl with her paws on the rim of the bowl begging to get her out and looking like a... well, you get the picture ! She never got inquisitive enough to ever do it again!

Simple solution -- keep the lid down.

I have one cat who thinks the only place she can get water is the toilet bowl. No problem -- she doesn't fall in, she doesn't get her paws wet. The other one is just weird. She will not lap up water. She scoops it from the water dish with her paw and then more or less sucks her paw. Of course, the second she is done drinking, she seeks my lap. So, know just how you feel. For Weezie, lid down is about your only solution (if she'll drink from the water dish).

Your question answers your question. Why does my cat .......?????? There is no logical explanation, they do it because they are a cat. They all do some weird thing. That is why they are a laugh a minute.

Maybe he's getting a drink? My TommyBoy learned to drink from the toilet from our dog. He learned many things from our dog. TommyBoy also used the middle of the lawn for his litterbox. Not the flowerbeds, not under the bushes... right smack dab in the middle of the grass.

Here is the explanation: Cats devote their lives to doing bizarre, unpredictable and inexplicable things. Cats are awesome because they are so weird.

Another cat fact: Cats sleep more than any other animal, 16 hours a day.
My 19 year old cat sleeps 22 hours a day. I'm constantly checking her to make sure she is still breathing.

One of our former cats used to like to explore the toilet bowl when we'd inadvertently leave the lid up......until one day.........when he slipped......and took a swim! Never saw him move so fast, flinging water all over the house while he was racing away! That was his last attempt at trying to get a drink out of THERE! And he must've spread the word to the other cats in the house - they never tried it after that!

Our cats wore the finish off of our wooden toilet seats by proping their back paws & claws on the inner edge so they could put their front paws in the bowl just above the water and get a drink. I used to use 2000 flushes and would try to remember keep the lid down because I was afraid of them drinking the water. Hard to do with little kids. Cats did this for 20 years with no ill effects.

Another one preferred dipping her paw into the water and licking the water off. That was my favorite. So un-cat=like!

I know my 19 year old cat can't live forever. But it is surprising how tough cats can be. Last year my cat had an operation for malignant cancer. The Vet got it all, she came through with flying colours, and she is gaining weight. She can easily jump up on the kitchen counter. (Not that I want her to!) My dogs both really like the cat. She and my little dog sleep an inch apart. He will be lost without her.

This isn't a picture of my cat, but I thought I'd post it anyway! It's one of my favourites.
