Any Village of Charlotte to be's out there???

We just returned from our visit to TV, lot reservation and floor plan in hand! If all goes well,we will be building a Sunflower on Mayflower ... We are so excited and want to sell here tomorrow. (it was 30 degrees warmer there then in Kennesaw). Would love to get to know neighbors and be ready for the lifestyle when we are all there! We checked out the area, went down to Brownsville, had lunch at Bonifay, NYE at Katie Bells ... Tried to get it all in... Fun
If you are Linda from Katie Bells NYE thanks for all the information
Betty

Bump

Need to bring this back up for Yankee Quilter.

skyc6 01-03-2012 09:10 PM

I have a friend who is going to be a Charlotte in March. I will tell her about this thread. It is such a new village--I was there today and it looks wonderful! Good luck!

angiefox10 01-03-2012 09:14 PM

You just might be the first poster for Village of Charlotte, but I'm sure as it starts ramping up there will be more posters!

How exciting for you! Sunflower is a lovely home! I LOVE the floorplan! What lot did you secure?

"I coulda been a contenda!".....could have been the first Charlotte poster when I posted 'bout a month ago....but at the time I thought I was Sanibel (duh!!) so I disqualified myself, I'd say.

Closing on an Iris on Jan 27....Yarborough Way....if I get my act together! Should all come together now that I know which Village.....it's a start.

Where's Mayflower??

Pturner 01-03-2012 09:53 PM

Yep, this is the first mention I've heard of a Village of Charlotte. Is that the 4th Village now in the Brownwood section?

Funny thing is, even though it is new, there were few lots deep enough if we decide to bump the front and the lanai (which I think we will) It is lot 49, 3376 Mayflower Loop.
So looking forward to it - all of you are great support - thanks

It is in the designer part - circles through pretty much the middle of the neighborhood. I do not see Yarborough on my map but I do not have the whole village.
Glad to know there will be another Yankee there!!! We are originally from Connecticut.
Good luck with your move and enjoy the beeter weather down there!!

Village of Charlotte

We have put a down payment /reserved a lot in the Village of Charlotte. We viewed it over Xmas vacation ... looked like a nice piece of dirt! A home already going up next to us.

Where we are located is not yet on any maps that we can find, but the street is Enisgrove Way. We probably won't build for a few months but we are excited to leave the cold of the north next winter.

Hope to meet everybody in the neighborhood.

Doug

David,

Yarborough Way, (your unit 179.48), is actually part of SANIBEL.

KateTut 02-14-2012 10:30 AM

We are building on Dalkeith, too, an Aspen. We are from Ohio, will be part-timers for awhile. Leaving at the end of February but will be back down in late April for a month to get furnishings, etc. in order. Can't wait!

Not per my Sales Rep nor the maps I've seen. Why do you say that?

My mistake... Just checked my notes. Unit 179 is indeed part of Charlotte.

Finallyfree 02-14-2012 12:22 PM

We are planning on building on lot 37 on Dalkieth. There is an Iris going in on the lot to our left (#38). We currently live in Smyrna a suburb of Atlanta,GA bur are originally from Chicago.

KateTut 02-14-2012 03:17 PM

We are building on lot 35, so we'll be one house away from you! My husband is from Chicago originally, too, from Elmhurst. I'm an Ohio girl through and through!

Look forward to meeting you in a month or so!

applesoffh 02-15-2012 04:22 PM

Also in Charlotte

Just closed and moved to Yarborough Way on Jan. 23rd from Queens, NY. I guess my husband and I aren't the only ones on this street, which is great news!

New arrivals and yor first post. Welcome!!

My son married a girl from Bayside. My favorite baseball team plays in Queens...

We're coming down in April to buy a lot; wonder if Charlotte lots will be available.

I'll warn you, I'm from Brooklyn!

applesoffh 02-16-2012 02:46 PM

Just closed on 1/23 - Yarborough Way. The dirt is beginning to look at lot less "dirty" - houses going up all over the place!

Yankee Quilter 02-17-2012 10:10 AM

Anything being built on Mayflower? On good days here (Atlanta) I get tempted to drive down and check it out ... So anxious to get ours started. I noticed on TV website that the homes available (designer lots) are on the east side, nothing shown on the west...Can it be sold out into a month? Sure wish we had a third of the traffic in this active adult community weare in!

Paul B 02-18-2012 12:45 PM

I'm looking out my Yarborough breakfast nook window at the only house on Callahan. Must be yours.

From the outside it looks like it's already for you!

mayBavillager 02-22-2012 04:40 PM

OK Folks..... I have been posting for months looking for people who would be living in Charlotte. We bought the lot in Nov. Not that I want to brag, but we were the first ones to live in the Village of Charlotte on Belcherry Loop, I think. We closed on our house on Jan 18. We moved in on Jan 19... and were all alone on Belcherry Loop. The only house there. We are still the only ones on the street so far. There are a few being built. We have an Iris and could not wait for neighbors to come. I am looking so forward for everyone to move in. We are from CT. Actually, we are back in CT right now. We had to go back cuz' I need a hip replacement and was miserable with pain. So we will be back as soon as I recuperate. I was so sad to leave as we are not completely furnished yet. We are going to be there full time. Hurry and move in. Look forward to meeting everyone soon!

mayBavillager 02-22-2012 04:47 PM

We are from CT too ......

Welcome! Since yesterday morning, 5 SOLD signs have gone up around us on Yarborough Way - lots on either side of us and 3 across the street. Incredible! Brooklyn? Where's that? LOL! Good luck with your search for a great lot!

Thanks, we need all the luck we can get. Actually we're going to consider a lot that backs up to a CYV wall. It seems lot's of people wait for new villages to open so they can get the best lots available. Sometimes half the lots can be sold within the first hour. One has to be alert and crafty I guess. (and have a good agent!)

brownrpnj 02-27-2012 12:17 AM

Yankee Quilter, we are in lot 48 on Mayflower Loop. An Iris. Construction of the house has just begun and will be completed for closing May 14. We're from Michigan and will be part time residents until we can sell here. We'll be in the house after the closing for the rest of May and June. We think we are your neighbors.

Omg, as the kids say! We are lot 49 looks like to your left looking at the houses. We are planning a Sunflower with a bumped out front bedroom and lanai. Our garage, by the way will be to the left of the home, away from you.
Of course, it all is depending on the sale here in GA. Building before selling here is something we think about oncei nawhile, but i live here and Joe is on a contract in Arlington,VA until towards the end of the year ... Three places would bedifficult!
We are originally from CT and had 7 years in CA. I cannot wait to get out of GA and start to have some fun!
I find it amazing that we can find neighbors from the other end of the country on this site. We will get to know each other before we move!
We are Joe and Betty and we look forward to meeting and getting to know you neighbor!
Betty

Yankee Quilter-We are Nancy and Phil Brown in Presque Isle, MI, near the tip of the first finger of the Mitten. Sounds like you have been through the first step of placing a deposit on the lot and receiving a preliminary estimate? We went ahead with the second step and construction has begun. If you can visit the last two weeks on May or in June, we'll be there and would love to meet you! By the way, our driveway is on the right as you face the house, away from you too. Can't wait to get there, dine at Bonifay, and hang out at Paddock Square in Brownwood. Heard in the third edition of the Brownwood update that it will be finished around September.-Regards, Nancy and Phil

That's not so strange. We have a friend who bought a lot in Charlotte and thought it was The Village of Sumter. :jester: Our home is about two blocks north of you on Avondale. Welcome to the neighborhood, anyway.

Your message was so welcomed! Joe and I are so looking forward to the move and meeting new people and "living the life". We have been down twice, Labor Day weekend and right after Christmas and are hooked! I think I look at the floorplan at least once a week! I am anxious to hear how things go with you and your building and what you see and hear when you move down. We have no way of knowing when we will be there - I am off to put the open house sign up now, and hope for some activity.
Stay in touch!!!

Finallyfree 03-12-2012 12:32 PM

Hey all, that is southern for hi: :girlneener:We just got back from TV and had wonderful news. We originally wanted an Iris but due to lot size had to go with a Lily on lot 37 on Dalkieth; when we met with our sales rep this time he told us they just started a stretch option on the bedroom side if the Iris; so by stretching the garage and the bedrooms we got the Iris. I am sooooo excited:MOJE_whot: we close here in Smyrna in 13 days and it is TV here we come. We will be renting in Duval until the house is built but will be over there regularly. Would love to meet some of you face to face. We are Alan and Helen Wilgus from Chicago then 20 years in the Army moving 16 times then Atlanta area. We are looking forward to being frogs.

Afternoon, mayBavillager, we are from Missouri and move into our Aspen at 3237 Belcherry on March 30th. We love it here, been coming for years and waiting for my other half to retire!
My sister, deceased, was first selectman (mayor?) of Fairfield, CT.
Is there anyone left in the Northeast, you all seem to be here? We run into few Mid-westerners.
