i just checked the cameras! i guess it must be one of those nites when they shut down because of the temperature?

thanx! :)

zcaveman 01-04-2012 08:18 PM

It it is too cold the entertainment is cancelled. We ran into that a couple of years ago.

I'm thinking warm thoughts for you NJ. Specifically, I'm thinking, "warm weather for your visit... warm weather for your visit".

Hope it helps.

I was at LSL for a while tonight...it's market night...and it was very busy. They had a good country band, that helps.

Jhooman 01-05-2012 09:01 PM

It was so cold, my little Yorkie-Sammy looked at me with complete dismay and horror when he put his little paws on the frozen grass. He peed so fast and hurried back into the house, wish I had a camera to catch his expression. I ran back into the house too.

Today was simply gorgeous. Enjoy your trip down, there's plenty of sunshine to be shared by all.

We were at SS last nite at about 5:30 after having cabbage beef soup at TooJays (walked right in and got a booth and was served lickety-split, maybe the snowbirds don't know about TooJays?) Half of the vendors were missing. The tall thin line dance pro was bundled up and dancing without her usual water (or vodka) plastic bottle - maybe it was too cold to hold?

There was no band Tuesday or Wednesday night at LSL. I was told if the temp is going to be below 46 they cancel the show. On Monday with the weather starting to dip and just a DJ for music they had hardly anyone there. The next night Tuesday I had planned to go because I heard so many good reviews about the band 'Uncle Bob's Rock Shop', hopefully next month they'll be rescheduled.

NotGolfer 01-06-2012 07:53 PM

wellll you haven't checked in tonight then....LSL is packed and traffic pretty dense. What a difference a day (night) makes!!!

Lynn222 01-06-2012 08:16 PM

Is she really a dance pro or are you assuming that because she is so good? I've often wondered if she performed in her former life.

There are three cameras in The Villages that send pictures out continually day and night. One is at Lake Sumter Landing Market place, the second is at Spanish Springs focused on the music and the third is in your shower.

Just kidding about the third one.

I think I heard that when the temperature has a chance to dip below 47 degrees they cancel the entertainment. But that could just be the voices in my head talking again. ;)

nope - that's a fact. we'll be arriving mid jan and were hoping for warmer weather to greet us...of course, it will likely be warmer than here on the jersey shore!..altho' today is a good day - going into the low 50's :) am so looking forward to biking, music in the squares and yard sailing! c ya sooon!

Schaumburger 01-07-2012 12:12 PM

I enjoy watching the web cameras from both squares. It reminds me that the TV is really there even though I'm 1,100 miles away.

I don't know if she is a professional or not, but have always felt she is probably someone single, agile, very enthusiastic, and loves attention. I enjoy watching her and her entourage.

Do they have web cams for the town squares? I recommended it about 9 years ago. I wonder when they got it. Anyone know?
