Zoysia Green lawn service?
I'd like to hear what customers have to say about Zoysia Green lawn service company.
We are at the one year mark with Superior lawn service, and want to try a different company. We have a lot of thin areas and a bunch of Bermuda-grass. I know that Bermuda-grass is a tough problem. Superior says that nothing can be done about it, while Zoysia Green says they can control it with spot application of Fusulade. I recently walked the yard with the builder's landscaper, Sloan, and he recommended Zoysia Green for this reason. |
We have had Zoysia Green for four years and have been happy with the result. We had Massey before them and felt the lawn was the worst on the block. Zoysia came out and guaranteed my lawn would look better in two months, and it did. When my lawn got infested with torpedo grass (?), came out to look at it and have treated it to keep it under control. At one point three years ago, the lawn started to look bad and they came right out when I called. They explained they were having trouble getting a particular fertilizer component and had switched temporarily to another one, but had found a new source and were going back to the old formula. Once they did, the lawn has looked great.
I subscribe to the every other month plan and I put a light feeding of balanced fertilizer on the months they don't fertilize. My neighbor has the same plan and doesn't fertilize himself and his lawn looks just as good as mine. Our lawns stay green a bit longer than some of the others around and seem to awaken quicker than others in the spring. So, I recommend them. BTW, I first contacted them when I noticed that most of the new homes were serviced by them before they were sold. |

Torpedograss is one of the most serious weeds in Florida. It grows in or near shallow waters forming monocultures where it can quickly displace native vegetation. It can also be found in more upland situations and is a frequent problem in sod production. Native to Africa and/or Asia, it was introduced to the United States before 1876, primarily through seed used for forage crops. In the early 1900’s the United States Department of Agriculture imported and distributed torpedograss seed for planting in pasturelands, providing forage for cattle. Torpedograss has not yet been listed on the Federal or State Noxious Weed List.

Does Zoysia Green also mow your lawn. I have always mowed my own lawn even though I had a lawn care service but I would want to "relax and enjoy" a little more after I close on my house in February. Thanks Mike |
mbikowski,
I don't think they do the mowing. Most fertilizer/weed companies only apply product. You then cut it yourself or hire a mowing company. One exception is KB, they do it all. |

Thanks for the responses. Just can't until I have to make a choice in 11 days.

Contact Information?
Can you please provide contact information for Zoysia Green? I'm looking for lawn fertilization and would like to get a quote.

Zoysia Green Incorporated
Address: 36600 Micro Racetrack Rd Phone number: 352 323-8454 Zip code: City: Fruitland Park, Florida (FL) Last week I signed the contract and had the first treatment. I am paying by the treatment, rather that for the whole year in advance. We have to go home tomorrow, and won't be back until May or so. I won't know until then if the lawn is getting better. |
Buyer beware. We purchased Zoysia Green by paying a full year in advance for services that are provided every other month. When I paid the 2nd year of service, I told them that I was interested in only a one year contract. After the final service, I purchased lawn products and treated the lawn myself. Without contacting me, Zoysia Green came to my home and treated my lawn, then left a $70 bill for the unrequested service. When I called them to inform them that I had not requested their service, they said that I'm still required to pay for it and that the contract continues unless I specifically request a cancellation. So, despite the fact that I had paid for a year and informed them that I was interested in a one-year service, they still came and treated my lawn and charged me for it. It just doesn't seem right that I should have to pay for a service that I didn't request; however, they said I had to pay it and that their contract clearly states I need to separately call and cancel the service for it to end. I will not recommend Zoysia Green and have no intention of ever using their services again. So very disappointed in their policy.

"goose grass" ?
Our lawn is about 3 months old and infested with what someone called "goose grass." Looks a lot like crab grass to me, but now I'm wondering from this thread if it's Torpedo grass. I've had it sprayed, but doesn't seem to matter. Does anyone have any suggestions or clarifications?

Buzzy,
How did your lawn turn out? Pleased with Zoysia Green? |

If it's torpedo grass, good luck. It has taken over most of my side yard and is present in patches everywhere. I was told there is no treatment for it that will not also kill the zoysia. And if I take everything up and re-sod, it will reappear after a while. |
Anyone have a picture of "Torpedo Grass" ?????????:bigbow: Goose Grass too???
