Find out who your neighbors are
Scary..................
This was sent to me from a friend I tried it and it's uncanny how well it works. Interesting website, but this confirms that there's no such thing as privacy. Easily find out who your neighbors or someone else's neighbors are! http://neighbors.whitepages.com/ Enter your address and up comes a map of your area and a list of all neighbors and their phone numbers. |

Not very accurate.... My next door neighbor lives at MY address.
If you don't have a phone, you won't be listed. I don't have a phone ... Two other neighbors have someone else living in their homes too ????? |

I LOVE this!!!
Not much different then a reverse phone book... Just on line.
This is great for if you need to call a neighbor for any reason. I just bookmarked it! |
It lists me living with the guy who we bought the house from!

My next door neighbor listed moved two years ago.

If you wanna find out what your neighbors are up to, just look 'em up on Facebook or Google+ . . . ;)

FYI - guess I need to move. It just lists Sandy as living here by herself........sniffle........sniffle. :D
But I guess it's better than seeing some OTHER guy's name show up with hers!! :1rotfl: Bill :) |
just tried it
I just tried it and saw all my neighbors in my development. I just posted this on FB to show all my friends this feature.

Thanks, Islandgirl,

Wouldn't it be easier to just knock on their door and introduce yourself?

How else....
Would Bill have known that Sandy was kicking him out?:popcorn::popcorn:

Does not work with all addresses. Way off on my address.
|
Looks like we've got 6 people in our CYV!! T
The previous owner, myself and the wife - twice each, along with her mother too ....yikes -- |
Other oddities: My phone isn't listed, though I have a listed phone.
When my father died, I had his mail sent here. He is listed as living here, though nothing with his name is linked to this address except mail. As someone else said, wonder what the criteria are. |

For my address in suburban Chicago, it lists 3 other people living at my address plus me (don't know who these people are -- I've lived here since 1998). Maybe the cat let them in. Kitty and I will have a talk about letting strangers into the house. These 3 better start ponying up for the mortgage, property taxes and utilities. :)
For my sister's address in suburban Cincy - it lists her, her husband and their 10 yr. old daughter -- how did a child's name end up on this directory? Scary. Glad I have an unpublished phone number. |

Ownership of properties is a public record. If you go down to your local tax board, it's easy to find out who owns the houses in your neighborhood. As far as the phone numbers...if the number is listed it's available for anyone. When I put my address in, I got a google picture of our neighborhood. There are also reverse area phone books..that's how we realtors used to cold call people (hey, I didn't like it either!!!) Right now I have access to information showing the owners of almost any home in Michigan, this list also shows any mortgages, sale prices and tax information. As I said, it's all a matter of public record.

Oh Dear
That cute bag boy at the Publix can now get my phone number and call me? :coolsmiley:
|
I went to the White Pages site and took my name off the listing.

I still would like to know how a child's name (my niece) ends up on the listings for her parent's address. I don't think my sister and her husband have her listed on the mortgage... |
This is great information. We are seasonal residents and sometimes forget a name or telephone number. But at the same time, it's scary to have that information out there, in a format so accessible. I sorta feel like I should shower wearing a rain coat.

If two or more people have ever occupied the same residence, or have been connected in some way credit-wise, then they will frequently show up lumped together in these type of search sites. Even if they haven’t lived together for years, don’t live together in the current home, or in some cases never lived together...their names are still linked for the purposes of internet searches. Data is collected from a wide range of sources (many companies sell their mailing lists and other information). Try searching for your name on a site such as www.intelius.com. and see what shows up in the “related to” block. In my case, my spouse’s ex shows up on a search of my name. (*Note: Basic search information on this site is free, more detailed information is fee-based.) There are many sites out there like this.
If you want a more accurate way to see your neighbor’s name (in Sumter County), you can go to the Sumter County Property Appraiser’s site at http://www.sumterpa.com/Important.asp and click on “Record Search”. |
