A new toy arrived in our kitchen recently... called a Keurig K-Cub coffee maker in case you didn't get it. Where are K-cup users getting the best price for the coffee pods?

We find Sam's has the best price. Find a type/flavor you like then go to Sam's and buy it by the case.

I order mine on-line from Green Mountain Coffee. Lots of variety and if you order 4 boxes of 24 there is no shipping charge. Can set up auto delivery and change as needed. Love my Kuerig !

We get ours at Bed, Bath & Beyond.... Gotta love the Jamaica Me Crazy! :icon_wink:

I had been using COFFEECOW.com and buying the 24 packs. But recently the price increased to $13.99 per 24. It used to be $11.99. Need to find a better source in the future.

It's amazing to me the huge price difference in the same boxes! At Kohls the 18 pack was $17.99 and I got the same thing at Publix for like $8.69! Most places are around $10.00 per 18. Once you " pick your favorite flavor" you have a pretty good selection at SAMs by the case. I think Bed Bath and Beyond is usually about $12.00 per 18. I am always on the lookout for sales to get varieties not available by the case. Be sure to try Chai Tea Latte for these cold evenings!

Amazon's prices are pretty good, and Sam's club with the limits being what they stock. Bealls sells them for a reasonable price. I was in Home Good's recently and they had a bunch of varieties of 18 cups for $9.99. Best price I've seen retail yet.

The "single cup" concept is an expensive way to buy coffee, IMO.

We are paying for convenience.

I don't even think it's very convenient. I want more than one cup of coffee in the morning and when I have guests. It's just a way to market exotic flavors of coffee at a high price.

The least expensive route is a K cup adapter that allows you to use any coffee or tea bag. You definitely pay a premium to use ready made K cups but with an adapter it is equal in cost to traditional coffee makers.

My wife and I are primarily espresso drinkers and we love our Francis Francis espresso machine, EXCEPT that it is not particularly convenient (have to clean out the stainless steel filter after every two shots of espresso and reload the coffee each time which sometimes gets messy).

We have been considering getting one of the Keurigs, but I have not been able to find out if these machines make espresso shots. Does anyone know if you can make espresso shots with these machines? If so, is it done by just regulating the amount of water that the machine serves per cup?

Green Mountain makes an espresso variety in the Keurig single cups. I saw it for the first time in the store this morning.

Haven't tried it, just saw that it is available.

Sam's & BJ's have the Green Mountain K-Cups for $39.95 for a box of 80.
Using the K-Cups, the coffee is perfect, every cup. At 50 cents a cup, it is well worth the cost for me and a lot cheaper than Starbucks!!

Life is to short to drink cheap tasting coffee!!

No espresso shots that I'm aware of for the Keurig or Cuisinart machines....if you like espresso...the K-cups may not be for you but here's a link that might be helpful to you:

We saw filters at Walmart for the Keurig type makers. I need to go back and purchase one as THEN you can use your regular coffee! Makes ALOT more sense. IF you prefer the pods...SAM'S as another poster related is fairly cheap. We figured at their price you get approx .50-cents per cup then. ALOT cheaper than the coffee spots in town (other than home of course)!

You can occasionally find the keurig K-Cups at Bed Bsth & Beyone.
Also at Walmart, and Publix. However, the variety is usually very limited. I've found that I'm better off ordering them from Keurig online at www.keurig.com. It's easy to register with them, and they always have sales. When you first register, you can "buy 2 boxes-get 2 free". It cost us $29.00 complete with free shipping, for 4 boxes....different varieties. Each box had 24 K-Cups. That was 96 K-Cups for $29.00. Also if you purchase a few boxes at once, it includes free shipping. The average 24 pack of K-Cups is $14.98, so if you order 3 at a time, you don't pay for shipping. Hope this is helpful. We used to waste a lot of coffee, but not with the Keurig. We get 2-3 cups per pod. I like mine stronger than hubby, so I take the first cup (using the middle button for mugs) and he takes the second. Sometimes, if mine gets too cold before I drink it (sometimes get busy and forget it), then I just put it back under the dispenser and use the small cup button for a warmup.

If I have somewhere to go early (like to a breakfast meeting with the gals, lab work, etc.), then he can make his own one cup when he gets up. He will usually add a little cream if/when he gets the first one. Otherwise, we both take it black.:icon_hungry:

I might agree with you....however Keurig sells something....(actually usually comes with the newer brewers). If not it's $15.00. You can fill the little filter with any coffee grinds you want. This way, I can make an individual cup of Hazelnut for myself, and regular unflavored coffee for my husband. No need to make a whole pot for each of our different tastes.

most convenient and cost effective for us is the Keurig filter that lets you use your own coffee. Make as many or as few a one needs and no wasted coffee from making too much.

We use the pods when we have company for the convenience of not having to make a whole pot.

CappyJohn, our daughter received a Keurig for Christmas, and she bought espresso pods at one of the "B" stores on sale... Bealls or Belk. The after-Christmas-sale pods were in an aisle display, not in the kitchen section of the store. You might want to give them a call to see if they still have them.

It's just the opposite for us. We use the Keurig for the convenience of just one cup, but for company we make a whole pot because so many are drinking it. I use CoffeeGiant http://www.coffeegiant.com and pay $13.32 with free shipping for decaf. Not sure if decaf is more expensive or not other places, but it's what I drink so it's all I know. I like their selection and they have sales on different kinds sometimes. Works for me but I have so site loyalties so if someone has a much cheaper price I could be convinced to switch sites for my coffee. I am only using 2 cups a day and don't mind using the machine which I keep in my office at work. It's so much easier then having to make a small pot and dealing with grinds, filter and dumping the mess. I just can't bring myself to use it to make tea for the higher price, though, although I do use it to make hot water and then use a tea bag.

I rarely pay more than 50 cents per cup for k-cups including tax and shipping. However, coffee prices are really skyrocketing in the supermarkets so this could change. I currently have a subscription service with amazon.com. They send me 50 cups per month for about $25 and free shipping. When I get a $5 off coupon in the mail for Bed, Bath, Beyond; I use it to buy a couple of boxes. Since I'm retired military, I also buy k-cups from aafes.com and get free shipping on orders of $50 or more. I've bought k-cups from Sam's but don't really care for the limited brands that they carry.

I purchased the My K-Cup which allows us to use our own coffee grinds in the Keurig. We like a 10 oz cup of coffee but have found the Dunkin Donuts regular grind coffee too weak. Which coffee brand are you using for adding your own coffee grinds to the Keurig?

After trying several different brands, I have found that Folgers works best. You will probably find that you will need a finely ground coffee, and Folgers fits the bill.

I use Maxwell House decaf...I try to get the strongest blend they have (which is rare...usually medium body). I use two coffee measures in a 12 ounce cup (essentially two cups of coffee).
