Just Wondering......
Charlie Brown would say, "I guess I just don't understand". I think that the moderator(s) do a great job. I'm sure that they get tired of wading through all of the poop, too. However, last weekend I responded to a post about an experience that one poster had at a restaurant. In my post I said that I believed that his account was true but that he should beware of the types of responses that he would receive. It was all very tongue-in-cheek. One kind poster got it and laughed but the thread was deemed "off topic and inflammatory" and was removed. Fair enough. Rules is rules.
But my question is, why is it okay and appropriate for posters to attack another poster or their questions or opinions? Case in point: Today a person started a thread asking where to get a tattoo. It degenerated into how that person would be perceived by one if they sported a tat, etc. On topic? Non inflammatory? The posts stand. Why is it okay to tell posters who have any questions about what they would like to see in TV or have any negative comments about anything that they don't like or have noticed to "just move out or buy in Orlando"? These comments are in the true spirit of the board's purpose of exchanging ideas? I think NOT! Just my inquiring mind wanting to know. :cus: |
I have the same question. Sometimes posts are just removed. Often times people are kidding with each other and those posts are removed and the really mean posts remain. I don't get it.
I know the post you are referring to. People who didn't read it were lead to believe there was something wrong with it and didn't understand it was a joke because it was removed. By removing the post, there was no way to explain. |

Hey! I've been hijacked! I don't have a tattoo. Nothing against them. I might have to get ironed first!
Okay. This is an official hybrid. Comment on my rant or show us your tattoo! |

If there is ever a concern about a post you can click on the triangle in the upper right corner of that post and it will be directed to admin/moderators for review. At the end of the day I wish I could say we always get it right but we can't and we don't but always make our best efforts. We thank everyone for their support and feedback. |
Thanks

Morning, Skyguy.
You know we love your cartoons! Do you think there might be a market for animated tattoos? Hmmm.

Maybe it is because you are extremely witty and smart Carol, and sarcasm is very funny, but lots of folks don't get it because it is typed.
Our good friend Swimdawg has told me that when I am attempting to be funny to always add a wink. I think almost everyone who posts here is sincere and we all have the things we are passionate about and other things that have always been with us that have seen us this far and we are certain they are right. We all come from different places, both geographically and in life experiences and we all have our hot buttons. I think we do a good job on here, most of the time, respecting each other. Behind the post is always a real person, just trying to type their view of things. I have had my mind changed so many times by the thoughts of others on here. I love this place and I think you are one wonderful person that I can't wait to meet. Keep typin' girl! Gracie. The behind the times untattooed overtyper. |

You make some very good points. What seems perfectly clear and obvious to us isn't always that clear to the other person (or audience in this case) most particularly when it's written. |
