I was told by a salesman from the villages that the SAFEST place to hide any of your jewelry ................................is in the oven, nobody cooks in TV:icon_wink:

Paul did a great job on our walk through and he tried to explain to Angie what the shiny thing under the micro:a040:wave was but even he gave up. Once she found out it couldn't be used to make reservations at restaurants she gave up on it. :a040:

Happinow 01-28-2012 07:54 PM

What stove?

I'll bet Angie isn't going to make those brownies for you after that comment! You'd better whisper sweet nothings into her ear....:a040:

Oren L Miller 01-28-2012 07:57 PM

not married for her cooking ability

She hasn't cooked for me in 24 years. I married her for her brains not her cooking ability.

angiefox10 01-28-2012 08:08 PM

Brownies??

You mean people actually.make them???

lovsthosebigdogs 01-28-2012 08:14 PM

Oh, good grief! I am so in trouble reselling my home if I ever need to. I bought my home because of the beautiful big kitchen. I love to cook and do so almost every night. My problem is usually leftovers. Perhaps I need to post the menu on my door and invite all of you in for dinner. Unless posting is against the deed restrictions. I'm not that fond of leftovers. Maybe THAT's how I'm going to make new friends when I'm a fulltimer.

I think you could get a job as a personal chef for some homes in TV :). All I can say is thank God for Lean Cuisine and Stouffers microwave meals. When my microwave died about 1 year ago, I hightailed it to Target for a new one.

Warning: This is NOT a joke.

A Villages friend of mine decided to reheat a pizza in her four-year old home. As the oven was preheating, she smelled something "funny." She opened up the oven door and discovered all of the original documents, including the manual, still in their now-melted plastic envelope on the bottom shelf. So, four years and never once used the oven. Impressive even for TV.

Is that the box that was mistakenly left on the front door stoop?

I remember a similar story about new NYC apartments - that real estate people leave their brochures in the oven, betting that it won't be turned on.

My wife says the safest place to hide things from me is right under my nose ! :)

2BNTV 01-29-2012 09:15 AM

A friend of mine always is entertaining and likes to cook.

One day, his wife's sister, who always ate in restaurants invited them over for dinner.

He remarked, "first your going to have to dust off the stove". :1rotfl:

Happinow 01-29-2012 09:36 AM

No cob webs in my stove

I like to cook. I mostly like to bake because I love sweets. We are grill people, so having a working grill at all times is a must. Can't beat a good steak on the grill! We usually go out to dinner a few times a week but that may change once we move to TV. I have a feeling we'll be so busy and be having so much fun that I won't cook as much. Although, nothing beats a home cooked meal...

MMMM ... steak and a homemade dessert! Can't beat that concept. So, when's the first bbq? I can bring the bbq sauce and/or the beans.

My husband used to say the safest place to hide a spare key outside was around the 28" neck of our Great Pyrenees dog. He figured of you could get near him you were ok to get into the house.
