Emergency Animal Clinic

Great News, we now have a 24 hour Animal Emergency Clinic in TV. It's called The Animal Emergency Clinic at Buffalo Ridge and is located close by Wall Mart off of CR 466. The address is 748 Village Campus Circle, the telephone number is (352) 750-4711. It will open February 4th at 8:00 AM.:a040:

Many thanx!

Thank you so much for posting. You just never know when you will need such a service.

It really puts my mind at ease - I used the one in Ocala twice and the one in Leesburg once. Not a fun ride when something is going on with the dog or cat. I am so pleased to have something close.

A quick comment about Dr. Krause at Buffalo Ridge. She performed surgery on my dog 2 weeks ago and did an outstanding job. Sunny came home acting pretty normal and never showed any signs of discomfort and his rather large incision never gave him any problems. He is already healed. :clap2: Both she and Dr. Rake are great vets.

This is wonderful news! I've done the drive to Leesberg with a critically ill pet, and it seemed to take forever. Pet owners should rejoice that we now have critical pet care available on campus.

Thanks for this wonderful news. When my cat was ill, I had to travel all the way to Leesburg. It is great to have one right here in TV.

I have been using Dr. Kelly Krause at Buffalo Ridge since I moved here in June and absolutely love her and her staff. I am so thrilled they have set up the emergency clinic. :clap2:

I'm bumping this because it is such good news. I hope that all pet owners keep the telephone number handy on their fridge.

We all hope we won't ever need emergency services at night or on the weekend. But sadly it happens. This will make hard times a bit easier. That trip to Leesburg was a never-ending nightmare with a very sick pet on board.

swrinfla 02-05-2012 03:18 PM

Hooray!

I hope that The Cat never needs to visit this place, but I am so happy that's it's so close.

I always dreaded the thought of the drive to the Leesburg facility. Happily, neither Omega nor her predecessor, Beta, so far have needed such a facility.

The only place I had in St. Louis was nearly 15 miles from my home and hard to find. I still recall an awful late Friday night trying desparately to find the clinic with my poor Cat howling miserably at the top of her lungs!

The good news was that they took immediate charge and she recovered nicely. Years ago, now.

I have been bringing my dog to Buffalo Ridge Animal and they are fantastic. They also have Pet Boarding as I used them only once so far and they were very clean and neat. Highly recommend.

By adopting a dog from a rescue or shelter, you not only save their lives but in return they save yours!!! :doggie:

And it makes you feel really, really good to adopt an animal that nobody wants.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Directions:
Take Village Campus Circle north off CR 466 (opposite the Charter School). Buffalo Ridge Animal Hospital is located in a large grey building to your left (the west side of Village Campus).

crbsoul pointed out important information .... you do not have to be a client of Buffalo Ridge to use this emergency service.

I hope that you never have to use this emergency service for your pets. But it is just wonderful to have this facility available to us nights and weekends.

For those of us on the "south" side,,, Leesburg is really quite convenient. I brought my dog there the other night at 4am and they were fantastic. He had a severe case of hives and they took him immediately and treated him asap so he was no longer in distress.

Please don't negate the Leesburg facility because they are very good and not inconvenient for us on this end.... Buffalo Ridge would take me FOREVER from Heavenly Hadley.

For those who don't know, they are next to the Comcast office in Leesburg off CR 44. They do close at 7:30am.

Kathie, you are absolutely right! Very good point. For southern residents, Leesburg may be more convenient. I took a critically ill dog there and it seemed to take forever. But then I was terrified, and the dog was in pain. When I did arrive there, I found the service to be great.

I got really excited when I heard about Buffalo Ridge opening for emergency service. We live "mid town", so Buffalo Ridge is minutes away from our home. And for northern residents, it is definitely closer.

But as Kathie points out, Leesburg may be closer for newer areas.

Irish Rover, I'm praying that your pet is doing better. I was there the other day with my Duffy who has developed dementia, recently went deaf and is in the last stage of his liver shunt problem. Dr. Krause is an excellent Vet and has been helpful. She told me that she has not known of a dog living longer than 6 years with this condition and my Duffy is now 13 so I feel that he has a good life filled with lots of love. Of course there is nothing to compare to the unconditional love we receive.:doggie:

I'm so sorry to hear about Duffy's problems, and I hope he lives a lot longer. We lost our 19 years old Himilayan cat about three weeks ago. She had a wonderful life and lived a long time. But surprisingly, that doesn't make it any easier. I still miss her terribly, and our dogs miss her also. She was such a special little kitty, always good natured and sociable. Our little family just doesn't seem to be complete without her.

duffysmom 02-16-2012 02:58 PM

Barefoot I'm sorry to hear that your kitty has gone to the Rainbow Bridge and I can only imagine how lost you are without her. 19 years is a long time for a cat to live and I do know how loved she was. I'm sending you a PM.
