Live Band, new venue, Blues & Boogie & R&R
Just returned to TV after a long vacation in CA, and hear about a new venue with a live band playing blues, boogie and Rock and Roll on Tuesday nights at Gator's Dockside. Music starts at 8pm to midnight. Dancing and good food there as well.
I mentioned this in previous posts a while ago, I'm trying to start a Blues Club in TV and I know some of you expressed an interest in joining. Come to Gator's on Tues and we can talk about setting this up. This is a good group from Ocala, I believe. It will be a jam session. Hope to see ya there!! |
Bump!! Anyone interested????

My husband loves R&B and R&R
so we will get over there when we get down in March and check it out. Don't remember seeing much area for dancing. Do they move furniture?

Big blues fan! If the creek doesn't rise, I'll see you at Gators this tuesday.

Glad you bumped this Kath. There's not much I won't do to hear good blues. If it's not freezing, I'll be there on Tuesday (probably after 9:00 pm). Bout time TV had some blues!

If sweetie gets over her cold by then we'll be there. We were supposed to go to St. Augustine for a few days for Valentine's Day, but this cold has knocked her out of commission. We're both big blues fans.

Went to Dockside last night to hear this band. It was fantastic, a 3 piece band where the lead musician played keyboard, bass, and organ... What I loved about it was it was a variety of blues, rock and roll and 60's music. Very large dance floor in the back room, behind the bar.
@Barefoot, Gator's Dockside is in Span Springs next door to the old Wellness Center (or now MVP club). The music was NOT ear-wrenchingly loud, as I have noticed at McCalls and we could talk at the table and hear ourselves. This seems like a really great venue, one that I will support every Tuesday. Come and join us, esp newbies,,, just look for me, I look just like my profile picture, LOL.... @Scarecrow, yes, I am a member of Tricounty Blues Club and I do go to McCalls regularly. Thought we should try this new group. I took a video and am wondering if I can link it to a post on TOTV???? |
I've been meaning to let you fellow blues lovers know of a great station at Atioch University in Yellow Springs (Dayton), Ohio that plays blues songs you can get over the computer every Monday night starting at 7PM. WYSO.org
WYSO | Public Radio for the Miami Valley Enjoy! |

Yes, it was Dockside in Spanish Springs. I'm so sorry you missed such a good night, but you have next Tuesday to look forward to. I'll be there with my dancing shoes on, snapping my fingers and acting foolish. !!! @Misky, yes, basically same band but there will be jammers who will join in on segments. Hope to see ya all there. |

I had heard a rumor that Pat Atkinson (bass player) was starting a jam somewhere in Lake Sumter Landing,...is this the one you are going to? Just curious....:) |

Mr. MAC9 and I were at Gator's Dockside last night. This group is REALLY good. It's open mike...if you want to play you can. Also had a couple of good singers that came up. One guy did an unbelievable version of James Brown's "I Feel Good." We'll definitely be there next Tuesday!
