I think it must be very rare. I've lived in Florida for over 40 years (owned wooded land) and have never heard of owls being born on anyone's property. It must be a sign of good luck for you.

The Daily Sun likes to write stories about such rare happenings. Why don't you call them and tell them about it? :)

Thx for the info PL:) Duh, I didn't even think of that. I'll call them & see what they say. My wife was just sayin, the Baby Owl's only stay in the nest for 4/5weeks & fly away. Thx again.....

Great pics, thanks

That reminds me of an owl that found it's home under the hood of an antique car that my dad was storing...He was covered in engine oil and we kept in a bird cage until "Oliver" recovered....Very difficult sleeping with two giant eyes looking at you at night.....When we opened cage door, he was a very happy owl and we were also.

JSW IMHO I wouldn't advertise the address since people will be gawking at the owls and this may cause them to be alarmed and abandon the nest. Since they are nocturnal and elusive animals they need to know that their babies are safe. I know that some eagle nests are abandoned when too many people congregate around the nest. Something to think about.

Posh 08 02-18-2012 06:19 PM

Are these the same type that eat cats?
