Golf Cart with Indiana Plate

Golf cart with Indiana plate 34E2942 please stop throwing your lit cigarettes butts out of your cart and onto the cart path. You're giving other smokers a bad name. There are portable ash trays you can buy that would keep our beautiful hometown clean and safe from brush fires during this dry season.

Thank You

NotGolfer 02-23-2012 07:43 AM

Bets are....that guy doesn't even look at TOTV!!! Wonder what would happen if 1/2 of what is posted on here (re: safety etc....not the neggie things) got in the Sun?! "Maybe" it would make a difference....but then maybe not!!!

Can never find a squirt gun lady when you need one.

My guess that INDIANA throws his butts out the car window too and the golf cart is no different. Me? I would try to get INDIANA'S attention and ask them ever so nicely to please not do that. If INDIANA buzzez you off, then so be it.

Challenger 02-23-2012 08:43 AM

We don't smoke , but have had to become adept at picking up butts in our front yard every day.

Wow, road rage in a golf cart! That would be something to see.

asianthree 02-23-2012 09:28 AM

With the new speed limit there will be a road and maybe a rage but just in slow motion

It has happened. A few years ago near the intersection of Buenos Aires and El Camino Real two guys in golf carts got in a real brawl. Some serious punches exchanged.

VillageSitter 02-23-2012 09:37 AM

It's all over...

My home backs up to St. Charles in the Village of St. James and I pick up butts at an average every third day or so. I usually get between 12 and 20 each time I pick them up. I got a prize last time ... a stoggie butt. I know there are also alot of construction workers in my area but come on, have a little respect please. :cryin2:

Penguin 02-23-2012 10:04 AM

Pick up his discarded butts, follow him, and when he stops, throw them back at him. Or throw an ashtray at him. He will get the hint.

Don't think I will throw anything at anybody. Now that would be scarey

I don't, someone has to take a stand against these idiots. Smoking is a nasty habit that you should not force on others. I would rather find dog poop in my yard than a cig butt. Rain will take care of the dog mess about 30 years before the butt.

That is not true. Tolerance does not mean excusing someone with a habit that they force on others.

daca55 02-23-2012 01:42 PM

Thats what I don't like about smokers. They think the whole world is their ashtray!!

Post your address. There are a bunch of inconsiderate dog owners looking for a yard like yours.

jpharmat 02-23-2012 02:54 PM

I would personally approach this person and politely ask them to refrain from throwing their cigarette butts out of their cart, as I would approach anyone who is littering. With the lack of wet weather it is such a fire danger and so poor for the environment.

Geezzz, do you like litter? Especially hot burning litter that could easily start a brush fire during the dry season? Just saying dispose of your butts in a safe clean fashion and have some consideration for the environment. Is that too much for you to grasp? I am hoping that by posting this then maybe, just maybe the guy would read it and get an ash tray for his cart. This is a much better way to approach the issue then a direct face to face confrontation, don't you think? Sorry if you think it's petty, I don't.

Sorry you feel this way, I guess it's not a problem until a field catches fire and little animals lose their homes.......

Smokey the Bear say's Only you can prevent forest fires.

redwitch 02-23-2012 04:15 PM

Okay, I'm a smoker and I'm in the camp that says no, this post has not gone too far. I'm also a Californian and I've seen the devastation caused by a lit cigarette tossed out of a car window. Not a pretty sight. Think I'd be picking up this man's butts and waiting til I have a decent collection. Then, I'd follow him home and leave them with a portable ashtray (get one at the dollar store) and a note on his front porch stating these were his butts picked up from the period X through Y and a simple request to please use the ashtray. You don't have to confront him and, who knows, the simple request might work.

CaptJohn 02-23-2012 04:16 PM

Isn't littering illegal as well?

It's not just animals losing their homes. We could lose ours as well! We are in brush fire season (lots of them in this region of the state and up until last night it has been VERY dry here and it has been windy for the last couple of weeks), many homes in TV are frame construction, and most homes are pretty close together. Why increase the risk of a fire in our hometown?

PJOHNS2654 02-23-2012 05:58 PM

I agree with you cappy. I said animals because some people care more about animals then they do about humans. I intended to "strike a cord" as they say.
