Restrictions?
What are the restrictions for pet owners in TV? How many dogs/cats are allowed per household? I know we have leash laws, but can we have invisible fencing?
Thanks |

I do not know for certain about the invisible fence question, but a neighbor has installed one and said that the dog still has to be on a leash when outside. The fence was installed so that the animal could not leave the property if it got out. |
You can move in with more than 2 pets, but you can't replace them until you're down to 2. (Hope this makes sense.)
I've seen dogs run loose in yards with invisible fences and no one has complained, so really don't know how legal it is to have them out there without a leash. |

I believe that most covenants state two domestic pets per household. That is what we were told by our Villages Sales Rep. However I know many people who have multiple cats because they stay indoors and are therefore "invisible". Same with goldfish! |

Thanks[/QUOTE As far as I know we don't have any "crazy cat ladies" (with 28 cats) although I suppose it would be possible if the cats never go outside. Dogs would be harder because they have to be walked. But in general I don't think anyone gets in trouble over the 2 pets per household restriction unless a neighbor chooses to complain. I have 2 cats and 2 geckos on my lanai that I count as pets. |
Was shocked and very disappointed to be yelled at by someone that no dogs are allowed at the new Live Oaks Park off Morse Blvd. Why should I have to go to a dog park? My dog is park of my family.

Who was it who yelled? Another villager or an official person? What did they say? |

Question
Was the dog leashed?
|
....
Was the man's name Fumar?
|
Another villager. She just kept yelling, No Dogs Allowed. Read the sign. Started walking towards us yelling it over and over.
|
Yes, dog was on a leash.
|
Another villager. There's a BIG sign of rules and regulations at this new park. We didn't read it when we first went in.
|
Any more info on this?

Yelling.
Was it calling over to you and saying..Did you know dogs aren't allowed here? Or Hey, Dogs aren't allowed here! Or You and that Mutt can't read? Get out of here with that Dog! Or Something even meaner? AND....did it really say on that sign that dogs weren't allowed in that area?? That is the biggest question. If so I am REALLY surprised. I know Jane who posts on here and looks out over that park is looking forward to taking her pooches for a walk there. I am sorry that someone hurt your feelings and sorry to hear that dogs aren't allowed there. I am so surprised that I feel I haven't quite understood your post. And hoping that someone is mistaken and you dog is allowed there. Welcome to the Forum Rose, I see this is your second post, but your first post says you have lived here for six months? |

I think that is a good rule, easy to follow just no dogs. Read the many other threads where the inconsiderate dog owners have their dogs doing everything, everywhere. Soon the new park would be a destination for both good and bad dog owners to walk and run their dogs. Can't there be one place where dogs are not allowed??? |

O.k. No dogs allowed. It is what it is.
Some will like it ,some will not. I don't have a dog, but I like them very much and have friends who are dogs, yes I do . If it was decided that no dogs are allowed, there must be a good reason for it. I am content with all of the other rules here. You can't please everyone. Abe Lincoln said that, not me. |
Park
We are looking to buy a Hacienda in Mission Hills. My realtor told me leashed dogs were welcome in the park.

Can there be such a thing as a people park?
|
We bought at the Haciendas and we look out directly on the park from our side view, and we also purchased a picnic table for the park. I just got a call from the District about some info regarding the table and I asked this question about dogs. It is absolutely confirmed, NO DOGS, even on a leash, in the park. We have two dogs. I was suprised! But that is the rule. I did not ask why.
|
When I first read about this park in the newspaper, it did state that no dogs would be allowed. I'd be willing to bet that there will be more restrictions in the future where dogs are concerned because of the "special" people who feel that rules and regulations do not apply to them and they don't pick up after their dogs and they let them run loose in spite of a leash law. These people always ruin it for responsible dog owners.

If some people are careless not picking up after their pups, than new homeowners who live adjacent to the park would suffer from the smell. That may be the reason. This is a very dog friendly community. |

Just for those who did not see the post, you can search Live Oaks Park but I will say here that I talked to the Parks Dept and it was explained it is a nature preserve and they did not want a disturbance to the sensitive nature of the park-birds, bees, the nature preserve itself, and the delicateness of the flora and fauna. They called it the first people only park. I did feel confident that the explanation of the preserve and all that it contains was the reason. I also have two dogs and have disappointment but also am appreciative of keeping a protected environment when there is a chance of destroying what exists there. I lhave a home next to the park so had a vision of dog walks there.
We presently live in a community outside of Seattle called Woodway. There are only 1000 people. We have fenced preserve land and limited sensitive walking trails so as to not destroy the wildlife and plants that are protected. So I guess I am accepting of a protected park because we live in an almost fully protected community here in Washington because of the environmental impacts. |
