Rush Limbaugh has lost seven sponsors as of today, and the republicans have seen an 18 point swing in women's support. Keep up the good work, Rush. It's been a week of calling women sluts, Blunting contraception, forced vaginal probes and living in 1950. Or 1850.

The Rush Limbaugh tail does seem to be wagging the Republican dog at the moment.

Of course it was not advisable for him to speak in the terms he used in trying to deal with the subject through absurdity. It fell flat.

But, it's no worse than many leftist commentator's comments about Republican or Conservative women over the years.

This is a bit of selective outrage drummed up by the lefist media who have been out it get Limbaugh for years out of professional jealousy and ideological differences. Rush is just too effective for them for over 20 years.

Rush didn't help himself with his initial comments, but the "national outrage message" is a total farce.

The only reason, I repeat only reason Rush apologized was because advertisers were bailing on him. He remains an unapologetic pig. :rant-rave:

It's not an apology to post a statement on your website. An apology is calling the apparent victim and saying "I'm sorry". Of course, Rush Limbaugh and Clear Channel are only concerned about advertising dollars. What does that make him? The same think he called Sandra Fluke.

The message....THE MESSAGE!!!...was not wrong. It is what most people would think.

How he delivered the message using the words he did was wrong. The following is not a justification, just an observation: the name calling method certainly is not unique to Rush alone!!!

His view was right (Federal Government should not be involved in birth control). His delivery was wrong.

Now, a few advertisers headed to the exits true but it wouldn't surprise me if a few Party suits were dispatched to WPB with a strong message of their own.

I've seen no report of that and I've just made a Google search. I think you might have heard wrong.

AOL becomes the ninth sponsor to bail out on Limbaugh. Any sponsor that remains runs the risk of looking like they condone his words and actions. Poor Rushbo won't be able to afford his Viagra soon.

Sandra Fluke said on "The View" that she doesn't accept his apology (I'm paraphrasing here).

Rush's only sin was behaving in the style of the leftist commentators. He came down to their level and thus shamed himself.

I'll lay odds Rush survives this sham outrage as he's survived all the other leftist attacks on him.

Don't see how you came to that conclusion. Bill Maher's been infinitely more contemptible than Rush Limbaugh has ever been.

It's extremely relevant to compare Maher's antic's to Limbaugh's.

There's more liberal commentators who've use foul terms in referring to Conservative women like Palin and Bachmann, and those can be brought up.

Because he is a known over the top comedian and I say comedian lightly. Rush is the source of news for so many Hard Right Conservatives. They are not the same type program.

Bill Maher is not the titular head of the democratic party. He is a comedian, as is John Stewart, Stephen Colbert, David Letterman. Bill Maher doesn't have democrats shaking in their shoes afraid that they'll offend him, lining up to kiss his ring. He is not the grand poobah of dems.

Whatever he said about conservative women never made the national news, never had sponsors bailing, as far as I know. Democrats should pray that Limbaugh survives. Whenever he opens his mouth, the gender gap widens.

Anyway, this ploy is going to fail also, and any sponsor vaccumm will be filled pretty quick by companies who want Rush's mega audience and have been on waiting lists. Rush will go on and on.

You are right. Maher is not a comedian, he is a joke. You forget that Rush, much like "Madcow Madow" "Overreaching Olderman" "Wolfman Blitzer" and Rush himself are all self promoters. They are merely expressing their views on the talking points that are given to them. THEY ARE NOT RUNNING FOR PUBLIC OFFICE. You! Dummy Liberals, equate these talking heads as the gospel of their "parties" and the Libs, especially, try to equate the rantings of these voices of conscience as the statements and/or platforms of the candidates. Wake up, and let us judge the candidates on what they truly believe, not feeding us their line of rhetoric, and what some self promoter, earning the big bucks, is trying to say what they,(the candidates) mean.

By the by, with all the issues on the agenda, why does Potus even bother to get involved with what some activist (law student) is so concerned with who pays for contraception so that she doesn"t get pregnant.

Our Potus is attempting to avoid the real issues of the day by deflecting our attention to trivial matters which should not be on his agenda. He should be more concerned with the price of gas, world wide wars, Israel and Iran, National safety, securing Social Security benefits for the elderly and the disabled, genocide, illegal immigration, defense of this Great Nation, Tax reform, as well as other matters of National importance, and not this Crap! After all, he is supposed to be the leader of the free world, then he should act like one, and not an apoligizer for this great country.

We have the laws on the books as well as a Constitution, let us enforce those laws and not corrupt them or abandon them or ignore them or try to interpret them to fit the "agenda."

Sears and Allstate just quit sponsoring Rush Limbaugh. I believe we're up to 11 sponsors who have bailed.

How could anyone miss it the Obama machine was in full force to capture his best profile. Obama did nothing more than play to the cameras and is pandering to the Jewish vote. Obama has ignored this problem for three years and allowed Iran the opportunity to dig in.

Did you count how many times Obama used "I" "me" in his presentation and did you notice that he never once used "we" "us'

My apology I neglected to answer the original question. I believe that Limbaugh knew about Sandra Fluke's background and chose words that fit both her real position or purpose for testifying and the usual reason it is used
Personally I would have not used those terms and a good wordsmith would have made the same point with humor and cemented agreement.

But like George Bush and Sarah Palin liberals will continue to kick Limbaugh down merciless. It will be never ending.
