A change of heart
 

I quit posting her for the most part but just can't resist. It is reported that Dick Cheney has had a change of heart. Or maybe he just now has a heart for the first time. :smiley:

I met Cheney and his wife on two occassions and found them to be nice people. No doubt Cheney is a serious minded individual but then we need all kinds to ensure events that affect our country are well thought out.

Cheney Was An Extremist Idealogue
 

The country was endangered moreso as the result of his service in the second highest office in the land. History shows that he was not particularly loyal to his President, often maneuvering to accomplish his personal agenda. Yet we must admit, he won his office in a fair and square democratic election.

I differed greatly with the principles important to him. In my opinion, the country is better off in his absence from power and influence

Having expressed my opinion, the example of his years as Vice President provides all of us with forewarning. We all need to deeply examine the principles our political candidates stand for. If we react only to sound bites and shallow political rhetoric, or simply vote for a political party, we are likely to be disappointed with the outcome. We should hold our elected representatives to a higher standard of what we expect of them. If we act, if we vote, in response to shallow, popular claims or negative accusations against political opponents, we may not only disappointed, but put in great personal peril. There are aLtogether too many recent examples. Dick Cheney is just one.

Amazing..one of the duty liberals just chastized some posts on the Harvard Sex Week and you folks come on here to specifically go after a man who is not in office and just had a heart transplant.

These posts in my opinion are just plain cheezy and not necessary at all.

Cant wait till he dies...you guys will be in all your glory. You folks made me proud that I left the liberal march years and year ago....I am not happy with the other side much either,but you guys are brazenly open about the hate

These are the same people who openly giggled when people got upset about a low budget movie depicting the hypothetical assassination, and it's aftermath, of then President Bush.

after one has spent any reasonable amount of time reading thru the political forum, it becomes obvious that some of the posters here would benefit from the same surgical procedure as former vp cheney endured! just sayin', ya know?

PS....I have always been careful, being a mature person, to never take my feelings to this level, HOWEVER, as the day goes on I am going to rethink my choice of criticisms and since I have NEVER gone after anyone on a personal level and surely not this low, I will need to gear up because it seems the acceptable thing on here is to take it right to the gutter. Not sure I am comfortable with that but why not try.

my estimate is a little more critical than some being at the gutter level. To me that would be an improvement as I view some as low as looking up at whale

The shame of it is for everyone is that these folks take great pride in being in the gutter, being crude and snide. There is an attempt to be funny, snide and downright cruel by these folks.

I called the President by his full name...bad stuff, huh. THAT has gotten folks that use the hate talk all riled up....imagine with the names called on here if we began to use that type of talk on Obama...you would be racist, disrespectful, etc, HOWEVER.....it is ok to call sitting congresswomen by rude names worse than slut...THAT seems to be approved

Now, we make fun of a man getting a heart transplant and further insult a previous President....the only motivation for these type folks is an inbred hate.....and whomever somebody that cruel and insensitive supports, I DONT.

The acceptance by these people of the snide, cruel, hate filled comments of people of a different PARTY and the reaction to simple disagreement on policy has really gotten me riled. How a different party registration can make a human being hate so much confuses me...how the fact that someone disagrees with you on pubic policy becomes the object of your hate, snide and nasty comments is confusing and very upset.

I really would love to see an example of the RUDE, SNIDE, NASTY REMARKS made by those that YOU consider conservatives (It appears that you allow yourself the liberty to make that decision).

I am especially interested in reading the posts that slander the President based on race and I am sure the administrators would love it also.

Since it happens so often based on your ACCUSATIONS of a few people it should be no problem to cut and paste them on here very quickly.

I don't know how to say it with more clarity. My statement about how we slander the liberals on this forum is 100% correct. My statement about who I will vote for and how I feel about Obama is 100% correct, but now stay with me on this:


They are two different statements and have nothing to do with each other. You said yourself, Implication is:::::::::: that is your assessment of my statements and your assessment is 100% WRONG.

Now::: if you are questioning my opinion on how we conservatives talk to liberals, that would be absurd and not worthy of comment.

I think they are very strong accusations to make about unnamed people and reflects extremely poorly on this forum. You cannot back them up and you feel that we all should accept a fact......that there are in fact " incredible rude, snide and nasty remarks most of us Conservatives slander the liberal posters with" just based on what you have told us.

Not sure of what term applies to that......but you find it "absurd and not worthy of comment." but would seem that you see yourself as accuser, judge and jury !!!

You have succeeded in doing what I have been trying to avoid and that is to get into these kind of conversations but I take pride in this forum and I think a general condemnation with nothing to back it up is poor.

I am sorry you continue to misunderstand me, but I have been on this forum for years and I HAVE SAID RUDE, SNIDE AND NASTY REMARKS TO LIBERALS. Now that does not mean that you have if that is what you are reading into my posts. It is a fact that conservatives say rude, snide and nasty remarks to liberals. Now in an attempt to make you feel better, I will add:::: Liberals often say rude snide and nasty remarks to conservatives. Does that make it more clear. Please don't get upset with me for stating facts.

Now, in an attempt to be more clear on my post:::: I want Romney to win in Nov, but I being a retired military man will not slander my commander in chief just to enhance that outcome. I think Romney will do a better job, but Obama is my leader at the moment.
