When tinfoil hats are not enough---UFOs?
 

Anyone else believe in UFOs? I agree with that genius Stephen Hawking who thinks that they are out there but they would probably be hostile if they visited us in force. I cannot see an intelligent species on some other planet who also have peaceful intentions even bothering to come to earth with the amount of environmental and political problems we have here on this planet. Earth would just be too violent and dirty a place to stay for a peaceful species from outer space.

This is a very interesting development about UFOs.
 

A few years back we had this very discussion on TOTV. I said it then and I will say it now in august 1969 at about 3:00 PM on bright sunny day with blue sky and no clouds I was on my way from work. I was on a road named Short Cut because it was connected two state highways.

I saw a bright shiny object from my left and immediately pulled onto the left shoulder of the road. By the time that I exited my car and in the distance perhaps a mile or less was a giantic spacecraft just hovering over a hill and blocking out the horizon. I did not see any lights, nor windows and absoultely no sound. It was as if I was underneath a giantic stainless steel bowl.

It occured to me that I had a camera in my car that I used in association with my biusines. I reached in the window grabbed the camera and while aiming that crafted lifted so quickly and left making a back ward Z that I never had time to get off a photo.

I never told my wife about this encounter until 1973. To this day she is afraid of rdicule and asks me not to talk about it.

I know what I saw. It was real. It was a real______you fill in the blanks all I know is I have never tol this day witness an aircraft that could move in such a lighting fast manner. I was spellbound.

...Just wondering....were you anywhere NEAR High Voltage OVERHEAD Transmission Lines (HVOTL)???.

I personally know of at least 4 others who have seen objects at NIGHT hovering VERY near the HVOTL Tower ....described as at least 250 feet across and 50 feet high....with a white hot looking beam directed at the HVOTL Tower. {We have similar HVOTL towers running along the Lake Co. - Sumter Co. line .....and thru the Villages.} Each person saw them at NIGHT and also described a band of light about 6 feet high between the top and bottom halves of the object.

I think you're very lucky to have seen a UFO. Was there anything in the press about other sightings in August 1969 in that area?

All this fuss about UFO's. Lets get some facts. Traveling at or near the speed of light how long do you think it would take for an object to travel from the nearest solar system to us. The answer is longer then we are alive and several generations of travel.

May be you think the UFO's are in our system OK. Lets say they are. If they are capable to travel at the speed needed and have some type of ship to get them here. They would also have the tech. knowledge to be able to view and examine us without landing. They would not interact with us because that would change the study of how we live and react to things. Basicly once you know that they are there the study is over.
You need to understand that if someone or some thing can get here they know a lot more then we do.
You now have three choices you can believe. One if you really saw a visitor you are probably on their menu. Or two what you saw was not anything more then wishful dreaming, something that was caused by us on this planet. Or Three you saw one of our governmental leadership landing. For sure they come from another place they sure don't care about the people on this planet.

Just waiting for the Mother Ship to come back and take us all back home, or some of you any way. Mostly our elected criminals, they surely are from another planet.

On a serious side, I do believe that there is life on other planets. Some will be way more advanced that us and some will be way behind us. Can you go faster than the speed of light, well we can't as of yet, but who is to say that, that technology has not been invented someplace else. I will reserve judgement until it is proved one way or another, and greet the visitors will all due respect.

The one and only time I thought I saw a space craft, I was 18 years old and parking in the General Electirc parking lot waiting for my father to get out of work. The car was facing south and when I looked out my door window to the east I thought I saw a bright saucer looking object in the window. I rolled down the window and it disappeared. So I rolled up the window back up and it was back there as quickly as it disappeared when I rolled the window down.

It took me a minuted, but I finally figured out what it was. Can you guess? Well it turned out to be that I just happened to be positioned just right to be seeing a reflection in the window from one of the parking light structure's light globes on the west side of the vehicle. Just in case I do encounter an alien visitor in the future, I thing I'll start carrying a guest book and ask them to sign it!

I haven't seen one, but I don't discount anything.

So many things we "earthlings" believed and learned that we were so very wrong.

We are still learning and discovering. I would like to keep my mind open to all possibilities.

Good poem, VillagesPL. Just hope they do not run into an Alien like those from the Alien movies. I'd would think that if there is life on other plants much of it will resemble the creatures that lived on earth 500 million years ago.

I would assume there is a lot to this amnesty offer.

My husband , who always was the biggest skeptic re U.F.O.'s or anything that he couldn't see, touch, taste.......in other words, anything unworldly at all HE DID NOT BELIEVE IN...........whereas I did.

Until.......one day in the winter, not too long ago, on his birthday as a matter of fact, he was driving down to a neighbor's home to deliver a college recommendation letter for our friend's daughter.......he had the window open, even though it was winter, as he was smoking in the car.

TOTALLY SILENT..........(so not a helicopter), a HUGE CIRCULAR DISK
CAME ABOVE THE CAR.........HARD TO TELL IN THE EVENING LIGHT, BUT HE WOULD ESTIMATE 300 OR 400 FEET UP ABOVE HIM.........he immediately pulled the car over to the right, looked out his left driver's side window and watched this circular object moving slowly to the northwest. He was aware of two things........number one there was absolutely no sound coming from it.....and number two, there were four lights coming down from it........twelve o clock, three o clock, six o clock and nine o clock positions.........but what mostly disturbed him was for such a large object to be absolutely quiet as it was moving through the air..............he knows what an airplane or helicopter would sound like.
This object was SILENT..........and he was not drinking nor doing drugs.
In about 20 seconds it slowly moved off into the distance. The lights were white. He would estimate it to be somewhere between 200 and 300 feet in diameter.......just guessing. It was large.

He became a believer.

A few weeks later, a local carpenter told him he had been coming into town from a different direction and about the same night, saw an object zoom off into the distance. When comparing notes, it seemed to be one and the same. A local florist said she would see similar objects going towards the hospital. Meaning "over the mountain". Back in the 1970's, priests, teachers, realtors, etc. and others in town saw hovering blue lights..........above our town, not moving, just hovering.............then would zoom off.

That's a good narration. I would think that if there is intelligent life somewhere close to us in space, they would want to keep an eye on us so to speak but probably not want to give us any advanced technology.

Well, I believed him. Knowing him as I do, and knowing what a total skeptic he always was........a true "doubting Thomas", he was so freaked out by what he saw, it had to be something........and again, I've always believed in U.F.O.'s..........not necessarily all sightings are true, but I do think there has to be life elsewhere.

My friend, to whose house he was delivering the typed letter, said she'd never seen him so jittery and shaken. It really impressed him.

I used to think they would be highly spiritual / intelligent, etc. but the past few years or so I've thought "What if they are predators and looking for a new food source". Yikes.

Anyway, at the same time this "sighting" occurred, we were having our home vinyl sided........the next day I told the 3 workmen. Well, they thought it was hilarious......and said it had to be a glider. A glider in January in the dark of evening????? That big?

He said it was NOT a glider. This was after suppertime.....so 6:30 p.m. and dark out....in the winter.

Anyway, I think I was the only one who believed him. If anything, he got a dose of how he used to react to other people's recountings of odd circumstances.

The object I saw was also totally silent I saw no lights no windows etc minly because I was so close to this huge object that i was okking up under it but not under it. It had spped and manuverability that I still have not seen matched to this day.

Why it disturbed my husband was that it had no normal sound of any aircraft that he had ever seen.....no jet engine sound, no piston engine sound, no sound of a helicopter blades beating into the air.....

For an object as large as what he saw to be absolutely SILENT dumbfounded him. It sounds similar to your sighting.

I always wanted him to post it on M.U.F.O.N. or something like that, but he never did.

He did call our local police........they probably thought he was nuts.
He called the Plattsburgh Air Force Base........same deal.

He thought it might be something from our government but we don't live near a government facility. It was if he was seeing something that he should not be seeing.

Awhile later, at a funeral, we were in the presence of two Air Force guys, one a general at the Pentagon and the other a Colonel , both in the Air Force........brothers in law actually. I asked them about Project Blue Book, etc. and told them our "story". They just "smiled" as they knowingly looked at each other and at one of the officer's sons who was also in the Air Force, a Captain. He was more willing to talk about Project Blue Book than his dad, the General or his Uncle, the Colonel.

The older guys were not going to discuss anything, even though they were family friends. The young son was very much interested. He later left* the Air Force to fly passenger jets out of Colorado. Went from active duty to reserves. The grandson of a dear friend of ours.

Anyway, we believe you.
