Does anyone know where I can find a Blue Heron lawn ornament. They have special meaning for me... but I don't know where to look for them. Thanks

Thank you for such quick replies...

Before you put it in your front yard be sure to check your deed restrictions. Unfortunately, lawn ornaments are not allowed in most of TV anymore.

I don't consider that unfortunate.

paulandjean 03-31-2012 07:05 PM

You can put them in the back.

After your response, I realize I worded that wrong. Sorry.

Mudder 03-31-2012 08:58 PM

Lots of times Beall's or Beall's outlet has them.

My wife had two small bird statues in the back yard sitting in an island of bushes. We were told to remove them because someone complained. We live in Buttonwood. Our front yard faces Redfish golf course and back faces Triggerfish. We're they wrong for making us revolve the birds?

Has something changed?:loco: I still got my 8 plastic pink flamingos that stand 5 feet tall that I want in my front yard. Have the rules changed? Can I do it? :2excited: They really look good, honest.

I think the restrictions are according to where you live. Probably north of 466, you might be grandfathered in. I'm sure the issue is about hurricanes etc, that blow these into peoples yards and thru windows etc. Thats probably why they don't want garbage pails here too. If it was me, I'd try anyway to put a lawn ornament on property. All they can do is tell you to take it down.

Actually the rules have changed now that covenant enforcement is complaint driven...so...if no one complains you can have your flamingos.:MOJE_whot::MOJE_whot:

Take a ride around parts of Hemingway and you will see all manner of birds, gnomes, fairies and the like. Also saw some interesting ornaments while driving through some of the newer sections.

No problem! There are no restrictions when you're living in a little shanty deep inside the Ocala Forest. :duck: :1rotfl:

Check out floridadancingbirds.com. We have two pink flamingos in our back yard. They are so relaxing to watch, not to mention fun. They have blue heron, too, along with other birds. Enjoy!

angiefox10 04-01-2012 03:53 PM

You can live next to me. My pink flamingos would get along just fine with your pink flamingo. I think Pooh has a few herself.

skyguy79 04-01-2012 04:03 PM

We used to have raven lawn ornaments, but ravens were never more appealing than flamingos! :throwtomatoes:

If I see them on a front lawn ---I WILL CALL ---thank you -- just so you know who called --- and yes it is my business - I also live here -- no need to explain more - i think you get the drift of what I am saying

Disneychix 04-02-2012 11:42 AM

I know that south of 466 as I was told...you can be called on the front yard but not the back yet a friend of mine (who's) backyard backs up to St. Charles Place had a very discrete yard ornament in the shrubs and she was called on it. They told her only holiday decorations will be tolerated so she put a bow around the neck and placed plastic Easter eggs around it and put bunny ears on it and now it looks rediculous but they discharged it as a seasonal display...so watch what you wish for...it can backfire !!!

Rules

So again it all comes down to which rules we wish to enforce right!!

JohnN 04-03-2012 06:09 PM

I found the really "nice" blue herons at the Dockside Imports store in Ocala on the road to silver springs. Locations

Those herons are hard to find!!!! The price as I recall was $86 for one or
$139 (something like that) for the pair.

Unless you live in proximity to your "offender", your compulsion to tattle must mean you are a retired "confidential informant" who just can't get away from snitching. If the neighbors are OK with the "offender", leave it alone. These things have a way of working themselves out. If you must "inform", try turning in serious offenders like speeders and red light runners. Now that would be "snitching for the greater good"!

I like your style and couldn't agree more - if the neighbors don't mind than neither should you!:spoken:

Are fountains allowed? with or without running water? bird baths?

Fountain and birdbaths must have running water. We use a "water wiggler" to keep our birdbath water constantly moving so mosquitoes do not lay eggs.

Thank you so much for you advise - which I choose to ignore
I check the source of the advise and - if not creditable I ignore it - thank anyway. I also feel it is my duty to report rules violations. No matter where they occur. Dont break the rules and you will do just fine

You do realize that you are just now replying to a 5 month old post, and of course, once again you are anonymously adopting a position that you know will be unpopular and confrontational. Why be that way?
