Tiger Woods is such a disappointment

I USE to be a "Tiger fan" BUT so tired of his tirades of profanity!
Poor poor Tiger, boo hoo, hit a bad shot, give me a break!....Will have
to go home to his 25 million dollar mansion, so sad! The ability to handle adversity ( A missed putt) helps build character, the inability to handle adversity shows your true character.....Tiger still thinks he has a sense of intitlement, he can say and do anything he wants because he IS Tiger Woods, I don't think so.....So surprised that the media covers him knowing that he has no control of emotions and vocabulary, Grow up Tiger, we are tired of your immaturity!

Mudder 04-06-2012 06:16 PM

I totally agree !!! I am so sick of the media still covering him as tho he's a star to be admired. Let us see some of the real genuine young stars who are gentlemen on and off the course.

paulandjean 04-06-2012 06:24 PM

Just had a bad day.

jsw14 04-06-2012 06:49 PM

Tiger Woods to the media = $$$$.......as is Dale Earnhardt jr is to Nascar.......

Neather one of them can DO wrong in the media's eye's>>>>>>>JMO

rubicon 04-06-2012 07:00 PM

I guess it has to do with my short attention span but when one player or one team dominates a sport and/or garners all the attention I get very bored.

Golfer in Sanibel 04-06-2012 07:20 PM

You think he's disappointing to you? How about to himself?

pivo 04-06-2012 07:43 PM

Golfer in san --He's not a diaappointed in himself, reason is he's arrogant, ignorant, and protected by the media for so many years, he's a disgrace to his race which ever one that is, to his Mother but probably not his Father who so far he takes after.

Pturner 04-06-2012 07:47 PM

Agree that Tiger's tirades are tiring.

Agree there are rising stars to admire!

But...but... GO FRED COUPLES!

"Tiger Woods is such a disappointment".............a mild/PG-rated version of the same thing Elin probably said back in '09.

:agree: Love to see Freddie have more great rounds. He and Phil are golfers you can admire. And lots of the up and coming one's as well. Tiger and his profanity is not what the game is about. He was (operative word was) a great golfer. Still is a really good golfer. But he has to get back to being a gentleman on the golf course. I Just go do something else when the cover him. Sad to see such a change.

The media is fixated on high profile players and that is all they show us. Did Tiger lose his cool on the course, absolutely. However, Henrik Stenson also lost his cool on Thursday on the 18th hole, but it isn't overly publicized. We get to see only what the media chooses. I am very disappointed in the ESPN coverage of the Masters. There were many great players on the course, of which we saw only a few. Couples had a fantastic 2 days and yet we rarely saw him, Jim Furyk and Vijay had great days, Sergio also.

paulandjean 04-07-2012 06:15 AM

He just had a bad day,Like the guy saying about his race in the eary post.

thekeithfan 04-07-2012 06:25 AM

You think that's a tirade ? You should golf with me... LOL. Lighten up Tiger's game for years was the best the sport has ever seen and now that he is average he is frustrated so are we. We want Tiger to win another Masters and we also want Junior to win another race!

Kind of a low blow to mention race. Just sayin'.

These Tiger Woods cartoons are funny.

I think Frank Nobilo is in love with Tiger Woods --- Where is Michelle Wie --- is she playing with the men yet? - i think she is lucky to be playing with the woman - such a real disappointment - stay in school - another media hype

I so agree with every single thing in your post and in PTurners too.

Mudder 04-07-2012 08:34 AM

Go Freddie !!!

rp001 04-07-2012 08:41 AM

race??

What has that(heritage) got to do with anything relative to behaviour on a golf course? Think it(the comment) may be a little off the hook...

mac9 04-07-2012 11:44 AM

Hey, Pivo, do you consider yourself a credit to your race, whatever it is? Just asking, but please, don't let it be my race!

BmoreGal 04-07-2012 01:53 PM

agree

Gotta say I cringed when I read that post.

Tiger is good for TV ratings, always has been. Network TV goes a long way to keeping golf popular and pays a lot of bills for the tour. I keep waiting for him to return to form but the clock is ticking with all the young players coming up and doing well.

Golfingnut 04-07-2012 03:35 PM

I like Tiger and love his ability on the golf course. It is so easy to criticize someone better than you. If ya can't say anything good about someone, why not just keep your mouth shut and fingers off the keyboard. I live in The Villages Florida where everyone is happy and we don't want to hear or see such incredible negativity.

Good to see him competing with the best in golf again.

I'll tell of what race Tiger is a member, the Human race. Apparently you can't see beyond his ethnicity which says a lot more about you than about him. I wish Tiger well in learning to control his negative moments and wish you well in learning to control your whatever.

Then you are in the very small minority. When someone dominates a game like Tiger did (or Federer, or Manchester United etc) the viewership when they are in contention is much, much higher.

The best thing that happened this week at the Maters, as far as tv viewership goes, was to have Phil break to the top on Saturday. People love winners.

Check the TV ratings when he dosen't play!

LAshby50 04-09-2012 08:18 PM

I too wish Tiger would not curse on the course, but I think it will continue. The game still needs him to be playing and to be a factor. I have seen Tiger in person many times at the Masters and 2 PGA's. I have seen some unbelievable shots. He will still win on tour and I think he has 2 more majors in his future. He is too good when he gets the lead late in the tournament.

I think there are just too many good players in the world for one player to dominate like he did before.

Hi Russ: I may well be a small minority. i also like winners but week afteer week World Series after World Series....its like "Ground Hog Day"

This past week was one of the best Master's in many years because so many players were in contention and you could root for anyone of them Phil, Sergio, Fred, Bubba, Louis and yes Tiger. I am a Yankee fan but isn't it better when a team with a small payroll beats the odds.

succintly stated,I beleieve Americans love the underdog and since a "Tiger" yankee's, etc dominant for so long it gets kinda well boring

Personal Best Regards:

P.S. I have the highest regards for RN's they all rock

Shimpy 04-12-2012 04:01 PM

He's not a disappointment at all to me, I love to see him lose.

LAshby50 04-12-2012 06:24 PM

Not sure the negative comments were directed at me, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am more of a fan of the game of golf. As high as we put anyone on a pedistel we are usually disappointed. Tiger is arrogant, self absorbed, among other negative traits. But the fact is he has won 13 majors and over 70 tournaments. You either love him or hate him. I like guys that perform under pressure in any sport. I am also a Phil fan. Great family man and golfer, but he had his bout with prolific gambling episodes in the past.

Advertisers love Tiger because he drives ratings. When he is in the hunt in a golf tournament (not a major),the ratings are significantly higher.
