Cart Gas Sumter Cty North of 466

If you live in Sumter County North of 466 where to you drive your gas cart to fill it up?

The Shell station on the east side of 441/27, across the golf cart bridge.

It depends where you live in Sumter county north of 466. That is a pretty large area.

If you live towards the west side you have the Shell in Summer Trace. If you live out towards the Marion county line you have the Shell on rt 42 in Marion county.

So that makes 3 gas stations that are available to Gas Golf Carts for all of TV North of 466 and probably half of TV between 466 and 466A. It could take up to an hour or so to drive your gas golf cart to one of these stations to fill it up and get back home.

They could increase the number of stations by 33% if they let gas carts cross Buenos Aires from Spanish Plaines Center to the Circle K Shell.

2 Shells on Wedgewood Southern trace

True. It has never made sense to me that you can walk, bicycle or ride a mobility scooter across some streets, but not a golf cart. It may have to do with the fact that crossing certain streets with the golf cart takes you to businesses that do not pay Villages rent. I kind of see their point, but?

and they are usually the cheaper of the area shell stations!

i believe that the shell station across the golf cart bridge in the historic district is owned by jesse james - he has just given up robbing folks with a gun and uses a gas pump since it is the only cart accessible station for that area! ;)

I was aware of that but because they are so close to each other they count as one.

There is also the Murphy station next to 441 Walmart that can be accessed via the Ho Chi Minh Trail but I don't see many golf carts in there.

Accessed through the Historic side. Tough to explain - can see it on Google Maps by displaying 'Bicycling' option........compliments of TOTV's own memason!! He did all the work to get all the multi-modal paths on there.

Bill :)

Sorry Bill, I didn't read it very well and was thinking of the Murphy station across from Wally World on 466. As far as I know, it is not golf cart acc.

No problem, Shimpy.

And I believe you're right about that Murphy station not being golf cart accessible.

Bill :)

The Villages Gas Stations

I am not sure how far north you are wanting to know about gas stations in The Villages. But there are 3 gas stations right along 466 (2 Shells & Murphy Express) that are cart assessible. Plus there is the Mulberry Grove Shell. And the other 2 (Shell & Kangaroo) are on the east side of 441 via the golf cart bridge. For other folks to know, the only gas station (Shell) South of 466 is on 466A right now. Hope that helps!

How do you get to the Murphy station by golf cart?

chuckinca 04-29-2012 07:32 PM

I don't think you can legally cross Griffin Ave in a golf cart to get gas at the Kangaroo Station (similar to the issues of crossing Buenos Aires to get to the Circle K Shell and crossing 466 from Walmart to get to the Murphy Station).

you're correct - one cannot access the kangaroo station by cart - just the shell station.
