Regional Rec. Center south of 466a

Does anyone know when & where the first Regional Rec. Center south of 466a will be built (comparable in size to Seabreeze)?

Gene

On another post I believe someone said a rec center is being built accross from the newest fire station on BV.

NJblue 05-03-2012 10:27 PM

There are two planned - one each at the southern part of Morse and BV. Not sure about when they will be started.

the walls are up for a rec center on Pinellas just down from Bonifay

That's not going to be a Regional Rec Center, though, is it?

Bill :)

The new map shows Bradenton & Captiva as rec centers.

Pinellas, Gilchrist, Sanibel & Charlotte as neighborhood centers.

When we were there we visited Sea Breeze, so I know the size of that one

Ok, now I have to ask what's the difference just size?

Here's a link that provides descriptions of the 3 different kinds of rec centers in TV:

(Here's the link after having resolved the problem) Recreation Centers

Skyguy posted this link a while back so kudos to him for it!

Zoom in/out to your heart's content!

The only Regional Rec Centers I could find south of 466A are Eisenhower and Lake Deaton, clear at the far south end of BV and Morse, respectively.

Tons of detail re: golf course names, etc., etc., etc. Note that the map states "Preliminary" so things can be subject to change.

Bill :)

Bill, great map of the Villages. Thank you.

Bill-n-Brillo 05-04-2012 09:20 AM

No problem-o - it's the best one I've seen to-date!

When I get to Sumter count page, there is message that requested page does not exist. Help! what am I doing wrong.

You've got me on that one, Bogie. I clicked the link I posted and it still works o.k. on my machine.

The pdf, though only one page, has a ton of detail on it and always takes a while to load when I access it. Maybe something on your machine is timing out or something.

Bill :)

On the last page of this PDF document there is another view of what the Eisenhower Rec Center will be. There is no part of it that shows a softball field or complex and I saw nothing in the general area shown on the map that would indicate one.

I believe they have broken ground on the Eisenhower Rec Center by Brownwood.

tainsley 03-10-2013 01:34 PM

I inquired about regional rec centers south of 466A back in November as I was curious. Was told that construction on Eisenhower would begin in 2013 which it has. If you have any questions email John Rohan, Director of Recreation. I am sure he will answer any questions you may have!

the walls and roofs are built

Bill would not do anything like this period and amen. I don't know how people hack but this was somehow done on purpose to embarrass Bill.

I am furious that anyone would do such a thing to such a good person.

Thought it was just my computer. And for future reference, I prefer brunettes.

Bill-n-Brillo 03-10-2013 03:47 PM

skipandsue and gracie - - - thanks for the heads up on the link problem. Fortunately, nothing's been hacked.

The problem is tied to a change (apparently/obviously) with a web site - referer.us - that you used to be able to use as a workaround for being able to reference sites that don't allow redirects. The Villages web sites can't be linked to directly from TOTV so using referer.us was one way to load that into the link to allow it to work. Seems that site "has been reappropriated for other uses".

Go to skipandsue's post above where my original post is quoted, hover your cursor over the link (don't click on it), and you'll see the referer.us referenced that I tacked onto the front of The Villages - Recreation .

You can copy-and-paste the URL for the recreation centers link above by Quoting this post then copying the actual link out of the quoted post and pasting it into your browser.

Sorry for the problem!!! I'll figure out another site that can be used for the redirect and fix the link later on.

Thanks again for the heads up, folks!

Bill :)

Bill-n-Brillo 03-10-2013 07:09 PM

Update: I found another site - blankrefer.com - that can be used successfully. I've incorporated it into the link in my post #7 but can't update the one in skipandsue's post.

I did find that the issue with referer.us getting hijacked dates back to mid-2012. I've got a number of other older posts on TOTV where I used the referer.us reference - going to go back in, find them, and straighten them out as well.

Thanks -
Bill :)
