New home prices increased!

We got a message from our rep yesterday that new home prices have gone up $4,000 to $5,000 now and that the designer appointments are now being scheduled for Aug.!
Thought I would pass the good news on!:yuck::yuck:

Thanks for the heads up. Was your rep referring to designer homes (since you mention designer appointments) or does this include all the home series?

Finallyfree 05-04-2012 08:53 AM

We were told that ALL home prices went up $6000.00 on May 1st. We were scheduled to meet our designer on April 30, so our agent was able to do a lock at the lower price since we would not be done with the process before the price increase. No change in the cost of the selections/modifications at this time just the base price of the homes. Sorry.

Maybe now the builder will be able to put hardware on the cupboard doors....

l2ridehd 05-04-2012 10:54 AM

This is great news. This means they are selling everything they can build and people want more. Supply and Demand. Also means all the re-sale homes will follow and go up in value. Hopefully the first of many.

Prices of homes up

I am surprised that people can actually AFFORD these anymore with the economy the way it is. Probably people can't retire till they are 70 now. Guess we were lucky to get in when we did.

Prices on homes up, so are bonds?? How do people do it??

Not if they live at TV, the place of the best senior healthcare. Right? :super:

Yea! Why the Daily Sun doesn't even see the need to carry an obituary section. And its all directly related because folks made the wise choice of moving to The Villages after retirement.

Yes, but they have smiles on their faces.

Only "great news" if you were able to buy before the increase.

l2ridehd 05-05-2012 05:05 AM

Not really Bettiboop. Would you rather buy a home when prices were falling or rising? If you knew they were likely to continue going down you probably would not buy. If you saw a price increase and believe it is the first of many, you probably would buy. So if your thinking about doing it, probably should just do it now.

Retire, even though you don't go to a job anymore do you really retire? I see many people that are so busy that this is just the second part of their life its just without a paycheck

Prices

Did the base price go up or did the 4% discount come off ?

The 4% is still there, for the time being. And I was wrong, rep said 5 - 6 thousand. Unfortunately for us, Atlanta area keeps going down and there is little turnover so by the time we get to build, we may rethink the model or the upgrades! Oh well, just want to get down there and enjoy.

jimbo2012 05-05-2012 09:22 AM

What 4%, I didn't get that offer, can someone give me the details about that?

Suggestion: If you've already gotten connected with a TV sales rep, contact them for the details - get it from the horse's mouth. If you don't have a TV sales rep, call the sales office and ask to speak to one.......or you can follow any one of the suggestions others have had here on TOTV about their favorite rep and call one of your choosing.

It's the best way to ensure you know about the current status of things.

Bill :)

Definitely NOT what we want to hear! Sold our house and deposited the check last Thursday. Won't be enough to completely cover the cost of a new house, but we really want to live there. We arrive May 21 to start house-hunting. Hoping for a pre-owned bargain.

jmac1031 05-05-2012 10:00 PM

I'm thinking it is a ploy to get rid of existing inventory! Have seen the discounts on some of the new construction spec homes??? As a an FYI, We were told we can can still the 4% discount as long as we have not had set up an appointment with a designer and cancelled or tried to reschedule.

Wow 6k that's a jump. Are they still playing the 4% game?

Home values up here! That would be a change from the price whipping most of us took selling to move here.

Box's almost all unpacked! I can see the garage floor!

Now back home till July and then finally Frog time:highfive:
