Motorhomes

Apparently you can leave your Motorhome parked on the street but not in your driveway. Does anyone know what the restriction is (if there is one) south of 466? I thought there was a restriction that you could only park your motohome on the street for 24 hours to load and unload. However, my friend was told by Sumter County there was no such restriction and would not require a neighbor to move there motorhome that is ALWAYS parked on the street. barf

Here are the deed restrictions....its in there.
VCDD Deed Compliance - Sumter County

You might want to do a search, this topic was covered in great boring detail within the last few weeks.

justjim 05-07-2012 11:06 AM

Thanks I'm new-----what was the answer? Can you just park your motorhome on the street south of 466 and leave it there?

Motor Home

You might want to call Deed Compliance because the last notice I have and from an HOA posting was 72 hrs. Nobody can be living in the unit and it can't impede traffic flow. In other words the biggest firetruck has to be able to get by witout riding on the curb or lawn on the otherside. Sumter County also has rules about permanent on street parking. If you get nowhere with deed restriction you might want to give Sumter County Sherrif a call.

Common sense is something a few people do not have.

deed restrictions

According to the Deed Restrictions you cannot leave a motohome on the street night after night. Thanks very much for the information. Question: who enforces these restriction ie. if the Sumter County Sheriff office will not?

KittyKat 05-07-2012 08:36 PM

justjim, click on Bogie Shooter's link then click on "deed compliance." Along the right side there are phone & fax numbers & email addresses for Community Standards.

Harry Gilbert 05-08-2012 04:05 AM

Since the roads are public property and free for the use of all, How would the deed compliance office have any jurisdiction over them?

I have an RV a 40 foot fifthwheel. (yea it's huge it's also 13 feet high!) On the rare occasion I pull it in front of the house to go on a trip (4 times a year) I try to load it and take it back to storrage asap. BUT someone in the neighborhood ALWAYS calls the Sheriff or the Villages security to complain. Once that happens I say to the Sheriff well I was going to take it right back to storrage but now I'm leaving it there for 71 more hours (My alloted time!)

Such an adult way of thinking.

mulligan 05-08-2012 07:03 AM

Hopefully, when our district is taken over by the owners, we can put in a "no overnight parking restriction".

paulandjean 05-08-2012 07:24 AM

"Such an adult way of thinking"Maybe to the crybaby who called the police because he was unloading his motorhome. I would be embarrased to waste the police department time on such complaint. People who do this remind when I was a kid who made a big deal if you stepped on their grass. Grumpy people who have nothing better to do. Think I would part it also for the 71 hours. Please some of you people get a life.

mulligan 05-08-2012 08:47 AM

It's not the police, it's community standards, paid by all of us to enforce the restrictions.

I agree with you 100% and another way to put it----very mature!

paulandjean 05-09-2012 06:02 AM

Doesn't that just become a pisXXX match.
I think the call by your neighbor was childish and I think your response was also.
Why not just do your thing of loading or unloading and then leave. The neighbor will get the message. I have a neighbor that has an Airstream, he comes and goes several times a year. We all know thats the case and its not a problem.

borjo 05-09-2012 12:24 PM

There's also some time needed in parking it out front to get the refrig. cold before food is put into it and upon return from a trip, to clean the lovebugs off of it. 72 hours is fair, overnight is impossible.

I CRINGE to think of when, if ever, I hope not, this place is taken over and run by the homeowners.

OMG....all of the complaining and politicking and silly changes that would occur.

I like it JUST the way it is. The restrictions seem good to me the way they are.

Yep, when the politicians run TV you can kiss your paradise goodbye. It'll be just another crappy city with the same crappy city problems. Take lots of pictures now so you show everyone how it used to be.

justjim 05-11-2012 04:43 PM

Skip----something to be said about being able to blame "The Developer" for all the small stuff. When it becomes neighbor against neighbor it can get very "entertaining."
