Challenging water aerobics classes

I am looking for a water aerobics class. There are so many that I would like some suggestions of good challenging ones. Thanks!

Have heard the "deep water" ones at Laurel Manor might fit the bill for you...or maybe the zumba ones!

I'll suggest Colony Cottage Monday (Steve) and Friday (Vince) at 9AM. Great aerobic workout Mondays, and Friday combo of aerobic and weight training! Better get there at least 1/2 before class.......fills up quickly.:welcome:

Thank you! That is close by. I will look into them. I am very near Savannah. There are several there. Does anyone know about the water classes there?

yogalover 05-21-2012 06:48 PM

Thanks Woolman! Getting some good tips!

Great deep water aerobics class at Mulberry. Tues., Thurs. and Sat at 8 and 9----- You'll get a good work out.

asianthree 05-21-2012 07:14 PM

So far I have not found one challenging. What I did find if i speeded up the work out I did make some people upset cause i got their hair wet, zumba just doesn't work well in the water. so if you see a person over in the corner working out and make waves its me trying not to get any ones hair wet but mine chilout

Sounds like you have the right spirit! Go girl!!

Sable99 05-21-2012 08:04 PM

I can't wait to try them!

yogalover 05-22-2012 05:49 AM

Try them Sable! I think you would love them. Actually I am presently doing Larry's Water Aerobics at Savannah, and it has been wonderful. I am having a time conflict though and was wondering if anyone knows of another. Great suggestions all! I know there are some others in the morning at Savannah. Has anyone tried those?

Yoga....you'll have to check the rec news that comes out on Thursdays in the Sun newspaper for different times of aqua-exercises. Think ALL the pools are in that with their schedules.

Sherrie does a good water aerobics class at SeaBreeze on Tues & Thurs at 6 pm. It is a pretty good workout. Also I attend a kick board class on Mon & Wed. at 6 at Laurel Manor.

in a pool? Wet hair? And that is a bad thing? Woah.

jblum315 06-04-2012 06:10 AM

Look in the Thursday Recreation Guide. There are msny water aerobics classes at SeaBreeze, at Colony, at Laurel Manor and I'm sure at other sports pools.

I think the class called Aquashyne is water pilates. I'm not sure but maybe it is only 9 months of the year so may not be going on now. Think it's at Seabreeze. Heard it was very good.

The AquaSYHNE class is good but it is not aerobic. It is mostly stretching and is very relaxing. I like it because it adds the stretching and balancing dimension to my other activities that are aerobic and weights.

Where do you find the water dumbells? I've looked at target and Walmart, no luck.

Mudder 07-30-2013 12:51 PM

All the sports pools have them for you to use while in the pool.

T&D Pool and Patio has adjustable resistance ones. Ace hardware carries the lightweight ones often.

I attend Laurel Manor water aerobics- instructor- Delores Kost- MWF /9 a.m.

We work with water dumbbells, noodles, long and short exercise bands and also do exercises while suspending ourselves sans equipment. She works in the water along with us. Excellent workout!

Hi yogalover - I'm new to The Villages...a snowbird...I do not see that you got a reply to your search for Water Aerobics. Our house is in Gilchrist off Pinellas. Did you find a class or classes? thanks
