Favorite perfume/fragrance...........

Hi Ladies.......What is your current favorite perfume/cologne?

I've used the same perfume for years (Shalimar)! I always loved it but lately have been trying to find something new that I might like. I'm just going around in circles trying to decide :loco:

Hi Bettipoop. My current favorite is Dolce & Gabana Light Blue, not sure where it might be found near TV, I've seen it at Macy's. Have received many compliments when I wear it. I also wear Shalimar, among others. Good luck with your search and enjoy. Brenda

Schaumburger 06-03-2012 04:52 PM

I love Bath and Body Works. I cash drop serious cash in that store. My current favorites are Sea Island Cotton, White Citrus, White Tea and Ginger, Mango Mandarin and Irresistable Apple.

LittleDog 06-03-2012 06:29 PM

My dear departed mother wore shalimar and I hated it. AThe scent was too heavy for me. Sorry that I had to post on the feminine forum but I couldn't resist.

John

Brenda, the D & G Light Blue is one of the ones I have found that could be a possiblity for me. Rather than buy a big bottle of something, I ordered some samples bottles from an online site and that was one of them.

Bath & Body Works is a popular place that is for sure! I've dropped my fair share of cash there in the past myself!

Donna Karan Cashmere Mist is my favorite! Belk carries a decent selection of perfumes.

ronsroni 06-03-2012 08:43 PM

Hi. My favorite /signature /one and only is ORIGINAL MUSK BY CABOT. Every day someone comments on it and I love it. The 60's started me off and just another thing to be grateful for from the 60's.

graciegirl 06-03-2012 08:48 PM

Dove.

mac9 06-03-2012 08:49 PM

The one and only perfume that I use is Tuscany by Estee Lauder. Mr. MAC9 approves.

Sable99 06-03-2012 09:51 PM

My favorite is Miracle by Lancome. I always get a compliments on it.

al & jane 06-04-2012 06:28 AM

None

Phanatic Luvr 06-04-2012 10:58 AM

The best...

Euphoria by Calvin Klein is by far my favorite and I get tons of compliments when I wear it. Also Cashmere Mist and Burberry, the rounded bottle not the plaid one.
Also, if you are a member at Sam's Club, they have a nice selection and their pricing is a little lower than dept. stores, believe it or not.

Enjoy it while you can Ladies!!! Now that they got their way on "smoking",. The "NUTS" are targeting the wearing of perfume in public places!!! Soon there will be no pleasures at all for the male species!!! NOTHING is as enchanting AS A WOMAN who knowns how to look and smell like a female!!!!!

Hi Ronsroni,
Where do you buy this please? I think I used to use it too, but haven't seen it lately.
Thanks, PJ

Bonny 06-04-2012 12:20 PM

White Diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor & Euphoria by Calvin Klein.

salpal 06-04-2012 02:23 PM

Used to love Estee Lauder's Spellbound, but now I find it to be too heavy. My new favorite is called "Pure Soap" by Demeter. I can only buy it on-line. It really smells like soap and gives you that just showered smell.

mikeandnancy1112 06-04-2012 02:30 PM

My favorite fragrance is Tiffany of New York.

rubicon 06-04-2012 03:20 PM

We had out of town vistors and played golf at Havanna and then had dinner. About half way through dinner a group of people were seated across from us. Within seconds the aroma of perfume permeated our breathing space. I am certain the carrier was more pleased with her selection then were we. This experience is becoming too familar in these parts and I hope folks who do feel a need to use perfume, etc recognize that less is more.

I personally rely on anti-perspirant, body wash and shampoo...To each his/her own.

Judith Ann 11-12-2012 07:50 PM

Chanel Madamoiselle...love it.

graciegirl 11-12-2012 07:52 PM

Dove soap and Colgate toothpaste.

The same for guys. I do NOT like perfumed scent on men.

OldDave 11-12-2012 08:01 PM

It isn't needed

I have to agree with Gracie Girl. Nothing is by far the best. There are a lot of us that actually become ill when exposed to strong scents, even those meant to be pleasant. More and more workplaces are requiring scents not to be detected more than 6 feet away. It is terrible when someone walks through a lobby area and you can still smell the perfume an hour later. Elevators are the worst.

Just something to think about, I read a couple of research projects as someone gets older they don't notice smells as well, which results in some women using more and more perfume as they get older.

I'm truly not trying to rain on your parade here. My wife has always been frustrated that I would prefer she not wear anything, and I don't complain when she does. But you can be hurting others if you go too overboard with the fragrance.

Uptown Girl 11-13-2012 07:55 AM

I am one who gets instant migraines from being exposed to most perfumes. As others have said, it could be from the next table at a restaurant, totally ruining my dining experience. If only you knew!
Doesn't matter if the scents are expensive or cheap.... it's the synthetics they are made with that cause the problem. I have actually had to eliminate some surely very nice people from my social circle, because I couldn't take their perfume!!! So sad!

PLEASE consider trying essential oils as an alternative.... REAL ones, made from one ingredient....roses, oranges, spearmint, basil, clove, cedar or something like that. Health food stores carry them and they will NOT offend the way synthetics do, unless of course you are allergic to the actual plant. A drop smeared between two wrists is all that is needed. Body heat does the rest.

Although I don't wear them, I have often placed a drop or two, usually spearmint (with an eyedropper) inside the cardboard roll of the toilet tissue in my powder room before a party. Fresh smelling without being intrusive. LOTS of compliments on THAT..... and NO migraine.

Then there is good old REAL vanilla extract placed behind each earlobe. People will think you're just yummy.... and won't even know why!!!

Euphoria by Calvin Klein
Chanel #5

Count'n the days 11-14-2012 09:30 PM

I like only fresh light scents. Usually wear Clinique - Happy or Perry Ellis - 360. Had a hard time finding 360 the last time I purchased it. Finally found it at Sams.

Eternity and Euphoria by Calvin Klein

mikeandnancy1112 11-15-2012 07:42 AM

I was a Fragrance Model for Dillards in 1994 in Tallahassee, Florida. I modeled fragrances by Liz Clabourn, Givenchy, Faragamo, and Tiffany of New York. Tiffany is my all time favorite.

Cedwards38 11-15-2012 08:29 AM

My favorite is whatever my wife is wearing! She loves Obcession. Mmmmm, mmmmmm.

I have used and loved Aromatix Elixer for years and years. I still love it when I pass someone else who is wearing it, but can no longer smell it on myself. It's made by Clinique. They also make one called Happy that I like for summer (but not as much) I think it smells like gingerale!

Flintstones 11-15-2012 11:12 AM

I like Beautiful by Estee Lauder but Dove is a great choice Gracie! :a20:

Fav Perfume ~ Lancome

My favorite perfume is Tre'sor by LANCOME. Plenty of compliments when I wear it.

Anyone remember TABU? Popular in the late 50's early 60's, it came in a stick form and my mother kept it in the fridge to keep it from melting. Everything in there ended up tasting of TABU.

Bonny 11-16-2012 07:49 AM

I used to wear Tabu and Helena Rubenstein's Heaven Scent.
My favorite discontinued fragrance was Enjoli.

Trish Crocker 11-16-2012 09:44 AM

I really like Sensuous by Estee and Lalique (by Lalique). I never put it on heavy, very, very lightly.

We recently flew to Barcelona for a cruise, a six-hour flight. A woman walked on board reeking of perfume, and I prayed she wouldn't sit close to me. Of course her seat was right behind mine, which meant instant headache. There were no other seats available on the plane. Half way through the flight she went to the ladies room and sprayed on more perfume.

Patty55 11-16-2012 09:26 PM

Escada Red and K de Krizia. I used to wear Opium, but I think my chemistry changed and it smells weird.

Joaniesmom 11-17-2012 06:04 AM

I certainly agree that perfume applied too heavily is unpleasant. Does anyone want to share any tricks for a light application? I squirt it in the air in front of me and walk into the mist.

De Lis 11-17-2012 06:34 AM

BLUE for day time, and when I worked, as it has such a clean smell.

SAFARI for night. Love this and my daughters always associate that smell with me. Nice benefit.

Both by Ralph Lauren.

That's exactly what I do with Dolce & Gabbana "light blue" ... spray a mist and walk through it. I also use Jasmine Vanilla body lotion (not at the same time) from Bath & Body Works, a store that I love to visit.

That's so strange ... I loved Aromatix Elixer for years and now I can't wear it anymore. I wonder if it's us or if they changed the formula.
