Posting photos - impossible
I am trying to post some photos and have looked at the instructions on how to post photos. I have gone to "new Topic" (post a new thread) , entered my text. then the instructions say that there is a button on the bottom row of icons, third from the left. However, the graphic that they show, shows up differently on my page then their example, and I do not have a second row of icons. I don't see any way of attaching a photo. Need help....thanks |
Are you trying to ad a pic from your computer or a pic that is already online?
Where is it located? Is it a .jpg or gif |

there is supposed to a paperclip in the tool bar https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...tor/attach.gif, the admin has to fix this setting it appears to be set to off at the moment, perhaps overlooked on this new look.
Send an email to admin, it not you! |

It's not on my iPad, Z. haven't checked my laptop. I love that little paper clip, saves me the trouble of putting pictures on PhotoBucket. Will go check my computer right now.

Yes FF = Firefox
It works on IE, so there's an incompatability issue with FF, the Admin needs to check this with vBulletin It works in the default format in FF but not the new one |
Ok now it works on FF I ran an upgrade to Version - 12
In FF click all the way on top "help" > about firefox > update |

FF has more users everyday and has features the others don't.
Great for pics and passwords for instance. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...x-Wanzijia.jpg |
Just checked on FF. for my iPad.....it's an app and not the operating system....drat....and guess what, the paper clip now shows up on my IPad!
Not sure what you did Admins, but THANK YOU....:BigApplause: |
Should posting a photo be this difficult? It does not work on my system. Charlene was kind enough to try and walk me through it, even though I have been successful many times in the past in loading photos to this site. She has been successful in the past in uploading photos and spent some time with me walking me through it. She finally gave up because she couldn't find a way of doing it etiher. Something is wrong. There is no "Paper chip" nor "manage attachments" showing up and a box is checked with says "not allowed to load attachments". It should not be this hard....and I've seen many people(who are computer literate) complain before about this before.

Ok it does work, but it may be your browser or it may not be updated.
What kind of browser are you using how old is it. Did you try going back to the old version of the forum? Need more info if you want to resolve it. |

1. Click on post reply. (not quick reply)
2. In the gray area above the white message screen is a paper clip. Click on it and it will open a new window. 3. Enlarge that window. 4. Choose a picture from your computer. Hit Upload. Click out of that window. 5. Click on paper clip again and your file should be there. Click it. 6. Your picture will show once you submit your reply. |

under the quick reply box is a Go Advanced button which should take you to the Reply to Thread box. above the message area should be 2 rows of icons. paperclip is between smiley face and undo/redo arrows.

I can't get my photos to upload either  I placed a for sale posting the other night and I couldn't upload the recliner photo. After I go thru all the recommended steps it tells me I have and "upload error". Does it have anything to do with "JPG" ....for example the photo picked was numbered
100_0657.JPG ? |
Image may be to big, there are size limitations, 97KB - 640x480.
Run it thru an image re-sizer |

test. Yes, it looks like you have to reduce the size considerably before trying to upload.
|
here is one free online site to resize your pics, there are many more including free downloads you can have on your desktop.
