MSNBC caught again...

Can't say as it surprises me. We all know the left has no charter or common decadency, especially in the Obama main stream media.

MSNBC Caught Deceptively Editing Video Of Mitt Romney

Guest 06-20-2012 08:26 AM

Do you remember back in 2009 when the media (finally!) actually admitted that they gave way more air time to Obama vs. McCain? I do.

Guest 06-20-2012 08:42 AM

I really do wonder how many times before that Mr. Romney had bought a sandwich in a WaWa and used a debit card to do it.

Yes, editing a clip like that is the wrong thing to do - for any newsgroup to do.

Guest 06-20-2012 08:43 AM

Suprised how blatant.....

When I watch news stations, I tend to understand that the broadcast is often 'based on a true story' and various broadcasters have there own bias. My concern has always been the number of people who takes a story as the truth if they see it on television.

That said, IMO this was not your normal bias, this was a blatant lie, a COMPLETE misrepresentation of the truth. Watching the video on MSNBC, I wonder if she even knew the tape was edited? If she knew this and still portrayed the story as she did, she should be called on it by colleagues on all stations. I am not calling on firing her, but I would not mind if she was a headline story in a very embarrassing way on all networks for the day :evil6:

Guest 06-20-2012 09:10 AM

And nobody on this forum is calling for the firing of Neill Monroe, The Daily Caller reporter, who very rudely interrupted President Obama while the president was making a statement in the Rose Garden? It's shocking that anybody on this forum even watches MSNBC.

Guest 06-20-2012 09:14 AM

Those responsible at NBC for editing George Zimmerman's 911 call to police so that the tape appeared to show that Zimmerman was making a racist comment instead of merely answering the dispatcher's question were unceremoniously fired.

MSNBC should follow suit and can the employees and their supervisor who perpetrated this hoax on the American public.

But really, NBC has shown over and over again that it is virtually just another arm of the Democrat National Committee.

I would not call it a hoax by any means. Personally, I do not care one way or another about it.

However, do you honestly feel that Mr. Romney has visited any WaWa or other convenience stores before this campaign and used a debit card to buy a sandwich? It probably was a new experience for him.

That's exactly what the results were of Bloomberg National Poll, which has President Obama leading Mitt Romney by 13 points - 53-40%. The poll says that voters view Romney as out of touch.

Lets stay on point here....the subject is the trampling of news by MSNBC.

Those who feel so righteous when on here criticizing Fox always and ever and with no credence supplied must understand this network has been sold out to the Democratic party.

In just a few weeks, we have had

.....A disparaging remark about vets done for a political point. Saying he felt uncomfortable calling our vets "heroes"

.....I will admit that question that was asked of Obama the other day should not have been presented in that way, an MSNBC guest was allow to question whether or not it would have been done had the President been white

Now the editing of a story presented during a campaign stop by a candidate.

The evidence mounts that this is in fact an arm of the Democratic party and they even make that clear in their ads for shows on that network.

I do not know the relativity of the drop in numbers....all cable channels had a drop in the last year and MSNBC was second only to CNN in drop of viewers and CNN is in a free fall.

I think we could all agree that MSNBC is the progressive voice of the Democratic party. Just as Fox News is the conservative voice of the Republican party.

It would appear that most posters do not agree. The only PARTY leaning network is Fox according to our posters.

Guest 06-20-2012 10:54 AM

It's not just MSNBC. They will all pull out the stops for their guy Obama no matter how much they will have to lie and distort. That's what they do.

On another note, at this same point and time, Carter was up in the polls 15% over Reagan as the very same media pounded Reagan every day.

Reagan won in a landslide.

Nov is coming up folks... watch and see. No matter how the left spins it, people are done with Obama and his anti-America and anti-business ways.

I think you would have to look mighty hard and long to find posters who did not think that MSNBC is very liberal and kind of hard to listen to for more than a couple of minutes. FOX is the same way with the right but they do have more interesting commentators on FOX.

if people were NOT done with obama, why would msnbc feel the need to distort their reporting? if obama has the votes of the dems, women, blacks, hispanics, etc, why is there so much of an attack on romney?...why is there such a need to raise buckets of campaign cash?...why isn't the obama campaign and msnbc just running him on his record?

Guest 06-20-2012 11:44 AM

The MSNBC report narrated by Andrea Mitchell, wife of Alan Greenspan and edited intentionally to make Mitt Romney look like he is out of touch with the average guy was a serious infraction of a journalist integrity. This breach is exacerbated because it was committed by a well thought of professional such as Ms. Mitchell who is married to one of the most notable Americans of our century.

The misrepresentation while egregcious pales in comparison to the implications of this breach. It is really tragic because if the American people cannot believe what is reported in their local newspapers then perhaps we are beginning to witness the beginning of the end. The integrity of our journalist , the voice of the people should be accurate to the degree of journalistic certainty.

You could very well be correct in what you say...no way to know.

All I know is the support they seem to get on everything and one of your cohorts said in an earlier post about having it on all the time and being an avid fan of the network and certain shows.

But, you might be right....dont hear many folks mention near as much as Fox !

Guest 06-20-2012 11:58 AM

the discussions could become very short and to the point if the concept of right or wrong could be applied by some posters.

The continual defense by some by using examples from else where is nothing more than trying to establish a wrong is OK because lookie, lookie who did or said something like it before!!!!

Two wrongs never make a right!!

What a dirty, disgraceful thing to do. I use to be proud to say I worked as a journalist. How much more obvious can the tilt to the left be when it comes to the news media? What MSNBC did is disgusting and they should be called on the rug for doing that blatant editing to make Romney look bad. People! Wake-up!

Can you prove Gov. Romney never went to aconvenience store and used a debit card?

These reporters have a story to tell and find "facts" to back them up. Case in point; Katie Couric used to be a local reporter on NBC Channel 4 in DC. She made a series of reports about singles in DC when HIV/AIDS was new. She wanted to say that people joined singles clubs to avoid Aids. She came to one of our monthly Catholic Alumni Club of Washington dances. No officer would say such a lie, they filmed at our dance, and found a visitor who would say on camera that maybe it was a way to avoid AIDS, she put that on TV. She also filmed a Jewish Singles softball game. cut to a MD who said you can't tell if someone has AIDS by sight. But she persisted in her fake story.

Of course he cant prove anything he says about Romney....that takes too much time and effort...facts are tiring I suppose !

Just say it and move on, as a poster likes to say.....cannot think of the name used for folks who just come on to stir things up and then leave...but will check on that.

Turn off the tv and read newspapers, follow up on what you read, validate it all and do not allow the talking heads to tell you what you think...they ALL bend the truth to where they want the story to go.

Having said that...I am about half way through the new book "CRONKITE" by Douglas Brinkley....it is actually a great history told through the prism of Conkrite's career !!!! Just a suggestion
