Obama doesn't trust Latino's with forks???
Hot on the heels after his announcement that he would free young Latinos from the onus of their illegality, Obama was to be feted at a gathering at Disney World's Contemporary Resort by NALEO (National Association of Latino Elected Officials)
Before Obama would come into the room the gathering was informed that their forks would be taken away. Knives were already absent from the room, it was mentioned, for "a reason". It seems Obama has been in many rooms, many times, in the company of people who possessed a fork. Why at this gathering, were the forks confiscated? I don't know the answer. If I was one of the assembled group of Latino's waiting for their honored speaker, I would be wondering. http://www.politico.com/politico44/2...nt-127056.html President Obama Can |
If you read the whole article, you'll learn that this was a decision made by the Secret Service, not President Obama. No Politico reporter or poster on this forum has information that the Secret Service might have.

I would bet this security feature has been in place for a long time before Pres. Obama's term in office. Still kind of funny to read about it, though.

Maybe those vampire hunters needed the silver from the forks. :ho:

He just doesn't trust a large group of Latino's with sharp objects is all you can deduce. |
This little tasty tidbit of knowledge says something about the tight Secret Service protection given to earlier Presidents. It is not the same thing but very interesting and flush with information.

Still can't get away from the fact that the only room it appears Obama won't go in to that is equipped with forks is a room of Latino's.

I guess if anybody would know what it might be like to be forked it would be Obama, He has been forking us for the last 3 1/2 years.
Sorry could not help myself  |

I voted for Bush, both times, and like many of you (or many of you should with Obama) I had buyers remorse when it comes to the economy. I am glad he was there for 911 or else we would all be bowing down facing Mecca 5 times a day by now. And good God! Is all you guys got for a come back is "what about Bush? He is not the Pres. Your guy is and he is "forking" it up big time. The difference I can admit my guy "forked" it up and you can't!! :boom: |

Did you read where the deficit doubled in the past year? As expected the Democrats blame this on Bush's recent visit to the White House. |
I thought is was kinda funny. :1rotfl::shocked::1rotfl:

It's also clear he singled them out as he's never done this before. Do a Google search and see if that's not the case. I am so thrilled that every post of mine garners such personal attention from you that I become bigger than the story. You are such a gallant defender against all my posts that might show The Anointed One in a bad light. Maybe he'll send you a free bumper sticker if you continue your crusade against these negative stories. |

I wonder if this is how health care will work, Give you health care and remove the doctors? And just to add to this, is deterring a fork attack really outside the capabilities of or secret service? |
Say what you will or will wht you say, irrespective of who made the call the fact is that knives and forks were removed from the tables of adults. This decision speaks volumes. WOW!

They should have just served hand held food :beer3:

Right, I doubt if the Secret Service check out the cutlery offered at some function ahead of time. This is probably how they have done it over the last few decades so I would not try to put this on Obama. That's like trying to blame Obama for the extent of contraceptives at some hotel in Columbia. I do hope they was more planning though in that affair by the Secret Service.

Gee, thanks for clearing that up. It's so much better now...........ha ha |
It seems that some posters on this forum are more concerned with President Obama's huge advantage over Mitt Romney with hispanic voters than they are with the use of silverware. To suggest that the secret service confers with the president before every event to get Obama's suggestions for his security is complete lunacy. The secret service's job is to protect the president.
Ask yourself, which of Mitt Romney's policies would hispanics applaud? Five trillion dollars in tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires? Increasing taxes on all others? Repealing the Affordable Care Act? Repealing the Dream Act? Defunding Planned Parenthood? Privatizing public schools? Supporting self-deportation? Saying that ending the Iraq was was a "tragic mistake"? Saying that corporations are people? Saying that he likes to fire people? Romney needs to win 40% of the hispanic vote in order to have a chance of winning this election. Which of the above are winning issues? |
To the administrator....
I have reported the last post on this thread as being totally unrelated except as a ploy to do political advertising. If this is allowed, ie. to allow a beginning phrase and then a sheer political ad to follow, please let us know. Those of us who attempt to discuss an issue OR respond to a post should be aware so that perhaps we may want to take this up also. In addition, it would be nice to know that during the elections season, the board will even be more polluted than normal with the little quick ads for one candidate or another whether they relate to the supposed issue presented in the thread ! Thanks |

Protection does not matter whether it is elected Hispanic leaders or the Future Farmers of America. Precautions have to be taken in every situation. |

Forget the hispanic vote - Willard knows this is a lost cause. He has no chance to win this group. CO, NM, and NV are blue. Willard and his genius advisors are now going to suck up to the old, Midwest, conservative whites. Of course, MI is also too blue for Willard to have any hope there, and OH is very close. Thing is, even if Willard wins Ohio, Obama is still over 300 EV. |

i thought it was pretty funny that the article richielion originally cited explained that the kitchen served the chicken PRECUT for the guests! lol thought about when my mother used to cut up my meat for me, too! ;) janmcn - i thought it was politically incorrect to interchange hispanic and latino? - since not all of those from latin nations are hispanic and not all hispanics derive from latin nations? no? i was once called to task by a group of latinas for interchanging the terms! |
