Put window tint on. It helped with ours.

Sleep in the back bedroom ! !
|
Search out "room darkening shades or curtains" I use them in my RV.
|
Take bulb out of streetlight........
|
Custom full window shutter, top to bottom.
Check out Daniel's Installation, 352-454-4823. Pricey, but a great above-average product that also helps keep the heat out.... |
Consider it a free night light.

Google "sleep mask". Lots cheaper than window shades and/or tinting.

I thank those of you who actually gave a thoughtful answer.

I would look into buying a blind to fit the transom window. I have a half moon window in my bedroom and have done the same. Works well
|
Up North in situations like this, the electric company that owned the street light would mount a little shade on the light itself to block the light that would otherwise light up your window.
Dunno if they do that here but it's well worth a phone call or two to find out who 'owns' the streetlight and if they will do that. I know that it'd drive me nuts, good luck and all that. |

You may want to consider Plantation shutters. We back to a Rec ctr and they block the parking lot lights. Plus you can control the amout of light you want. We used 48hr Blinds and are very happy with them. Cost to do every window in a designer ranges from $3200 -$3900. Depends on # of windows and size. You could do just the room in question.:MOJE_whot: |
We just put in 3 " blinds in house which were not inexpensive and wouldn't want to have to throw that large one out and spend again for an entire plantation shutter treatment.
We will have to contact someone. I just wonder if it is a TV electric or I guess I should call SECO? |
Just called SECO and they said you have to talk to TV. WHO would you call in TV?
|
Phone call
If it is the same as up north, SECO maintains the lights but the county or district pays for them. Our orders would come from the county. SECO may be able to help or give you a Phone #.

As it turns out, I have been referred to the VCDD.. Village Community District Development. I will call tomorrow and see what they can do besides tell me to sleep in another room or get a night mask. The bb gun response is the last resort.

light
Be nice first, that usually works. If not get mean, real mean!:boxing2:

Shcisamax,
I was telling my husband and daughter of your delimma and we couldn't think what model had the bedroom in the front... And then thought, You must have the Sanibel. It goes from back to front. All of the other models that I could think of had the master bedroom in the back of the house. |
The Elm is also in the front! It could also be a corner lot where the light comes from the side?
|
Gracie: It was the front bedroom in a Lantana. My daughter was sleeping in there. We generally have an endless line of family and guests and that is where they will be sleeping. I don't see myself believe in telling them to wear sleep goggles. :)

Had to chuckle!

Sky...looks like the OP edited the original message. Unfortunately, no one else quoted the OP, so things are now out of context.
OP probably should have started a new thread. Think we will close this one down...the original topic was vetted pretty thoroughly. Thanks for the heads up. |
