The rich get richer and the poor get taxed.
Krugman: This race really is about the rich versus the rest - Houston Chronicle
I doubt if very many Villagers qualify for the 1% club. |

And, if Mitt Romney is elected President it is sure as the dawn will come tomorrow that he will raise taxes on the middle class and poor. How else is he going to handle the national debt? |
Krugman is a partisan hack. He's "working" for the Obama reelection campaign. You expect a favorable look at Romney?

Fix the tax code...I am for that and so are all rich people and even those damn rich Republicans, but stop with demeaning anyone who has lots of money. Those are nothing but stupid generalities ! The bigger problem is 47% pay nothing. The top 10% pay over 70% of taxes and earn only a little of 40% of all earnings.

You are correct....the national debt is huge and growing and the question is who can lead this country to both parties doing something. The man in the WH has been there for 3 years and it is worse than ever. The new healthcare law does not come due yet, but it has doubled in price since it was passed unread by our leaders and if you review how it is supposed to be paid on assumptions, those assumptions already look very shaky. We need leadership and this man has made this country more divided than ever and the promulgation of rich versus poor rhetoric is simply making it worse. And the point of my link was that you come on here and give us a link from a cronie of the President and give it credence....well, my link showed how much of a crony he is which to me makes any link to him supporting the President very suspect. Try a few other sources....better yet...read about the tactics of our President in Chicago as a young guy...same tactic...same message....rich versus poor |
Can I, can I, can I be one of the 1 %ers.

He is FAMOUSLY pro Dem and FAMOUSLY anti Rep. That alone does not make him wrong but it surely has to be considered and he is a "shill" for the administration. |

I try, not always successful to validate something I read and want to post....people still do not accept it, but I always check who wrote and check on them.....the fact that it is on the internet or in a certain magazine does not make it fact. |

Cut the corporate income taxed to a level that is the lowest in the world. That will attract businesses to come to America and it will be an incentive for a lot of businesses to come home. Jobs jobs jobs, the more people who have jobs but more people there will be paying taxes. The more people who will be paying taxes the more taxes there will be in our coffers. Basic economics is all you need to understand that increasing taxes is really counterproductive as far as the private sector is concerned. There has been no indication that the present president has had any thoughts of using the higher taxes that he wants paid to be used for anything other than expanding government. I don't expect you to understand any of this because you're so blinded by your ideology. Socialism has failed throughout the world. You may pick one or two very small countries as anecdotal evidence of its great success but the truth is Socialism needs capitalism to survive and once you get rid of capitalism Socialism dies. |
Clinton tax rate 39.6% .... 20 million jobs created
Bush tax rate 35% .....663,000 jobs created |
I personally can't see that an additional tax on the so called 1% will ever become law. Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneris, Warren Buffet, Bill Gates & other members of that 1% won't allow it. Why doesn't O.B. just forget about a law, and ask the 1% to contribute to the national debt? I'm sure they would be happy to.

People living in The Villages are very close and many are in the so-called 1%. Who else can afford the high prices of the new built houses that are pushing $1Mil?
The debt is high because BHO wants to destroy the US economy and build a Socialist Utopia on the ashes. He made ObamaCare, does not do anything to trim Medicare costs, but he raided the Medicare fund to pay for Obamacare. A vibrant economy like we had before would generate enough revenue at a lower percentage, but a bigger tax base. Reagan did it. |
Excellent Post, now explain with some specifics please

I tried looking up the tax rates under the Reagan administration so I could compare them to those we have now, both on businesses and individuals, and as a percentage of GNP but I just couldn't find the right ones as everything I found showed that that tax rates were higher under Reagan than under Obama and that the largest tax increase in peacetime in US history was signed by Reagan, as well as the largest decrease in tax rates for the highest earners. Please help me out with some specifics. Of course with a Socialist Muslim, Kenyan in the White House, we don't really need specifics beyond those epithets to know we need to get him out. |
