The moving company is coming tomorrow and we close our NJ house on Friday at 10. Pick up the dogs and onto 95 to our new life in TV. Hope to be dancing in one of the squares Sunday night! :2excited::pepper2:

Just arrived 6 weeks ago - same story as yours - it is even better than I imagined. Lovin lif here. The dogs seem pretty happy too!

You are going to be so happy. We sold our home in Ohio on June 9th, got here June 20th, closed July 2nd and are thrilled. The biggest problem is keeping our relatives away so we can finish putting the home together and start playing. :pepper2::pepper2:

Congratulations from another former NewJerseyite! We moved here 6 years ago and did basically the same thing. Settlement was @ 9am...took the check to the bank and left for TV. That was the longest 18 hour ride that we have ever been on! Was well worth it and haven't regretted a minute of our time here!:gc: This will be your next new "ride!"

Congrats on the move. Today has been 2 months that we moved into our home here in TV. Before you know it you will have been here 2 months and wonder how you got everything unpacked and put up. Then you will wonder where some the things are as you did not put where you had before. Don't worry they will show up sooner or later.

Consider skipping I95 and coming I81. Nicer ride, faster speed limits and plenty of nice rest areas with dog paths.

We decided to do 95 over 3 days. Richmond tomorrow, Savannah Saturday and TV Sunday.
The movers have been here since 9:30 and are 80% done packing. Hope to be done by 5.
Then off to the Marriott. Closing tomorrow morning and picking up the dogs and getting on the road.

We closed on our home in NY yesterday. Coming in Oct for our design meeting. We still have 2 more years before we retire but will be down as much as possible before than till we can be full time. We are thinking we will build a Lilac, but Iris is an option too. Any thoughts or suggestions?

That sounds like so much fun. Not so much the closing and all the packing, but the trip itself and getting going with the next phase of your life. Congratulations, I am so jealous.

I highly recommend Red Roof Inns for dogs. They usually have outside entrances to the rooms which makes walking the dogs easy/peasy. Good luck with your trip!
