Wawa in Florida

The Mid-Atlantic people will know what a Wawa store is. IMHO, the best gas/convenience store. Great coffee and Hoagies. They just opened a store on Orlando with 100 stores to come in Fl. Looking at their future store site, none are near TV. Maybe we can start an E-mail write in to get one here. I have sent mine.:mmmm:

Just saw a commercial for Wawa last evening. Had never heard of that store before. Thanks for the info.

babbs455 07-19-2012 07:41 AM

wawa!!!! :)

skip0358 07-19-2012 07:42 AM

Mines sent. I liked them in Pa. whenever we were there.

surfergirlov 07-19-2012 08:07 AM

Wawa is the best! Each store has someone constantly making new coffee, their hoagies and breakfast sandwiches are delicious, and the stores are always spotless. Can't wait for them to be here in FL.

asianthree 07-19-2012 08:39 AM

yea another place we can go to outside of TV.....maybe next door to trader joes and costco:doh:

Joaniesmom 07-19-2012 08:43 AM

Never heard of them, but just sent mine!

salpal 07-19-2012 08:46 AM

Yippee

Been missing WaWa....Great news!!

For those not from Philly area, WaWa is a Lenni Lenape Indian word that means Wild Goose.

graciegirl 07-19-2012 08:54 AM

Childrenese?

If we need Wawa...do we also need milkey?

Sorry. It is what little ones say for water and milk.

Once a mother, always a mother.

rp001 07-19-2012 09:52 AM

love it

There we were, riding through the beautiful area of French Creek, northern Chester county, Pa..The young blonde real estate agent was describing the area to me and my ex..She uttered the famous words to me," Wait till you see my WaWA"...I almost fell over.....Turns out it really is a great store..To me it's like a country gas station/store on steroids...Very fast paced, good selection, and very clean...

ladylake1 07-19-2012 09:54 AM

Wawa is a great convenience store with gas station. Loved them when I lived in Pennsylvania. And just did see the ad on TV for Wawa. Wondered if they were planning on enterng the market here. We also don't have 7-11 nearer than Orlando. Nice convenience store as well.

bluedog103 07-19-2012 10:14 AM

If Wawa is coming can Turkey Hill be far behind?

tranceminder 07-19-2012 10:53 AM

WaWa is so great! We enjoyed their food, drinks and customer service just about every day in Virginia. Wonderful company, private owned and priced to beat.

Bill-n-Brillo 07-19-2012 11:02 AM

We can only hope they would choose to set up shop on 466a.............. :sigh:

Bill :)

nah - convenience stores are just another blot on the landscape - like real estate for sale signs! oh wait - that's another thread! ;)

although, like bill posted, you guys out near 466a with gas carts could benefit from a reliable gas station with competitive prices! maybe ya could get the wawa design team to incorporate their building into a villages type design, especially re signage and color and construction!

Would love to see a Wawa. Fantasic coffee and flavored decaf too. I like that you get calorie counts and nutritional info right on pkg for salads, wraps sandwiches, etc. You can also pick up a (packaged) hard boiled egg for breakfast or cheese stick instead of a fattening fast food item on the go. NJ also has Wawa stores, btw.

As for Turkey Hill, love their 16 oz bottled decaf oramge iced tea. Don't know any other stores that carry that!

I lived across the street from a WaWa for ten years until last year, I-95 exit 77B (Route 24) in Maryland. I used to go there all the time, but the gas pumps got so crowded there was lines to wait for a pump. Then Wegmans opened next door so just before Wegmans arrived Giant Grocery on the otherside installed their own gas pumps. You got 10 cents off an gallon for every $100 you spent on groceries. So then we got our gas at Giant but I would still go in WaWa for get a sub sandwich. The ones they have already made are good or you can have one made special using the touchscreen ordering.

The two most dangerous places to drive .... the neighborhood mailbox around 3PM and any WAWA gas station/store.

I grew up near Wawa, PA. After I married Wawa opened up a store near my home in so. Jersey. When I moved to VA in the mid 90's WaWa soon followed (about 2005) opening stores in the VA Beach area. Going back and forth from Va to Philly area always stopped at Wawa for gas, bathroom visits, coffee and hoagies. Great breakfast sandwiches too! Now here I am in Florida! Could a Wawa be coming soon? I can only hope...

Cedwards38 07-20-2012 06:06 AM

OK, I give up. What does WAWA stand for or mean?

Cedwards38 07-20-2012 06:09 AM

Don't know what Wawa means but, the company was started from a Dairy Farm in Wawa Pa. It is a private owned family run business.:clap2:

Wawa is an Indian (Ojibwe) word for Canada Goose. There is a goose in flight in Wawa's logo.

Blue Oval 07-20-2012 07:01 AM

I've been to Wawa Canada - does that count for anything?

Wawa92 07-20-2012 01:57 PM

My wife and I were both born and raised in Wawa, Ontario Canada. In fact the town has a statue of a Canadian Goose as you enter the community.
