give me the far righty approach...no regulations on banks,no regulations on Wall St. no regulations on business,no regulations on anything. Survival of the fittest. No one gets any help. Make it on your own. That's the righty gospel. Give them back the money they put into Social Security. Let them invest in an unregulated Wall St. The big boys will have you broke in a month.Let them find their own medical insurance. I'm sure all the far rightys have no preexisting conditions. Finally required reading"The Guilded Age". You rightys will love it.

It didn't take our Virginia Governor long to apply to the Federal Government for help for storm damage. Never a conservative around when you need one.

With all the tax money you are forced to send to the Fed to fund these programs, you think your governor should not have utilized these programs?

What point do you think you're making here, really?

Obvious point. Cut government spending cries from the right. All talk, no action. Small Federal Government until it suits the right. Both sides spend.

when one is a politician one learns very quickly to be aware of the definitions and conditions under which one can get money from the government....it has nothing to do with party or their concern for their constituency.

Not really. Cut government spending by scaling down all these programs. Then limit the aid proportionately to fund strictly truly vital needs where lives are in question.

But you were saying that your Governor is akin to a hypocrite because he's using the program in place, as we speak, which is draining his state's coffers of available funds.

I'm sure your governor is all for severely decreasing the money your state has to give to government to fund these nanny state programs, but he would be a fool not to utilize the programs while they're still in place.

That's right. It's called hypocrisy.

Gov Bob McDonnell (R-VA) wants smaller government except when it comes to pregnancies. Then he wants to monitor each one to make sure it has the outcome he advocates.

He would make the perfect VP candidate for Mitt. Can't stick with any issue.
