I would like to know what the reactions of both political party loyalists would be IF their candidate lost in November. Who would you blame (if anyone); what will you do for the next 4 years; do you think a split Congress should work together for the country or just keep with the strict party lines and hold up progress?

Me - I will say the people of the nation have spoken and Congress should work together for the betterment of America with give and take from both sides.

1. Blame ? Not sure what you mean by that but I would suppose I would blame the complete lack of any discussion of what needs to be done.

2. What will I do ? Same as I am now unless the candidate makes such the changes that need to be made in this country and then it will be rough as we try to get rid of the deficit.

3. Congress ? I now have to go a bit party on this, because one candidate had a chance and failed, thus if that is the way the election goes, no change or worse as that is the direction it is now going. If the other is elected, he has a mountain to climb but is better served with experience to get it done although that means very little.

Let's deal in facts and not fantasy.

Either way it goes Bugster, them boys on the Hill need to stop fiddlelin. Example: Harry's waste of Senate time spreading rumors about Gov. Romney's taxes.

On the evening of November 6, at around 11:05 PM, after California results come in and Obama wins reelection, at 11:06 PM, expect to hear Faux News begin their ACORN whinning. After which their "special correspondent" (aka The Wasilla Quitta) will be on whinning about the lame stream media.

I am a Democrat but sometimes vote for Republican candidates. For instance, I voted for Bush in 2000 and 2004. Obama in 2008 though. And, I had little notion of just what Obama meant to do except for the national health care promise.

So, if Mitt Romney wins in November I will just have to work with what I got. If Romney wins, it would be very interesting to see what Romney does in January after taking office as POTUS. I see Mitt Romney as being someone who puts practical realities above campaign promises so it is very hard to guess just what he is going to do in the future.

He is kind of like President Chester Arthur in that he could turn out to be a huge surprise both to the party that elected him (as VP though) as well as to his handlers. http://www.whitehouse.gov/about/pres.../chesterarthur

I do not see Mitt Romney winning unless President Obama takes some very serious missteps or Romney excells against Obama in the debates. Doubt if Romney's VP pick will have much of an impact unless it is someone like the NJ Governor, Jeb Bush, Condi Rice, or someone else with a huge political following.

If Romney wins the righties on this board will suddenly have to find a new hobby or interest to consume their time and "passion". :smiley:

DaleMN we will probably have to eat crow for a few months at least if Mitt Romney wins in November.

The far righties will have plenty to whine about

some of us don't use the concept of finding "blame" for anything.
If Obama wins it would be a result of everybody that bought into his words last time did so again this time.....that is unlikely.

In addition the usual voter apathy will be a major factor for Romney (and Obama as well).

If Obama wins I would expect no more improvement over the next 4 years than we have seen to date. There will be no more cooperation in congress than there is today. Obama as a lame duck POTUS will do some even more unpopular things as a result of no worry about being elected again. A major concern is the number of Supreme court justices who are getting old enough to bail out during an Obama term just to have him put in more liberal replacements.

And if Obama wins life would go on...the good news we will at least know for sure when we will get rid of him.

Now that I have participated in a la la land scenario....I look forward to Romney crushing Obama in November.

Not a chance in Hell President Cry Baby will win, I'm telling you right now. I also predict that the economy will begin turning around next year almost immediately once BO is gone... simply because he is gone. Once we start dismantling the damage he's done it will start getting even better.

The USA is ready for a recovery and the only reason why it's stalled is because most business is afraid of what BO is doing and may do if he does get reelected. If we take the Senate back which I believe we will, you'll start to see things happen very rapidly.

Second prediction, when BO does loose by a landslide, you'll see the left turn on him and lay all the blame on him.

Don't forget that Carter was up double digits in the polls running right up to election day and then he lost in a landslide. Remember?

If Mitt Romney wins fair and square, without people being denied the right to vote, I'll have to live with it or move to Costa Rica. If Romney wins because of voter suppression and voter purges, it will be a very sad day for America.

Maybe Mitt can bring out the Black Panthers with billy clubs to stand in front of the polling places? Maybe if we have a few more dead people, illegals and pets registered to vote, Obama will have a chance.

if obama wins it will be due to the same folks doing the same thing over and over - obsessive compulsive behavior or insanity if they expected a different result; and i will encourage my nieces/nephews to enter some field of research to discover a pill that will cure it.

if romney wins, when i say my prayers i will surely include a great big thank you for the win!

You have mentioned over and over on here that there is no, and has been no voter fraud in this country of any kind thus why worry about that.

Wow.....how many have been purged ? Not looked at, acutally purged. That would make a very long night as that number is so small....now, it could happen if they dont have an id, but you said that is not a problem !

It is an excellent idea to encourage your nieces/nephews to enter some field of research - but, I should warn you (you probably already know this, though) - republicans don't believe in education - or in science.

Just because some of the Reactionary Right like "BarbieDoll" Palin have no educational credentials whatsoever and believe that dinosaurs and humans roamed the Earth together when Earth was created 5,500 years ago - is no reason to say ALL Republicans do not believe in education or science. It is. The Texas legislature, for example, is trying to ban critical thinking from education.

There are only two scenario's Romney wins or Obama wins.

If Romney wins the country wins and no one will be blaming anyone but rather patting each other on the back.

If Obama wins Republicans will blame each other and the entire country will go into deep depression when Obama has free rein to impose his socialist agenda giving us a future view of the world in total destruction much like those scenes from Hollywood's doom and gloom movies where people walk along deserted streets with grocery carts forge for food or anything of value :22yikes:

btk: Most of my posts on the political forum are on the light side because I am so done with the lefties here. All you are going to get are unfounded allegations, sniping demeaning remarks....but its not their fault. The leader of their party has left them with nothing in their quiver. This "voters being denied the right to vote" and "voter suppression" stuff is pure crap.

Freedom comes with individual responsibility.

It is a voter's responsibility to make sure he/she registers to vote on time and truthfully fills out the forms.....and no more than once. It is also a voter's responsibility to actually show up and vote at the polls on the appropriate day/time, or in advance with an absentee ballot mailed in or dropped off on time.

It is also a voter's responsibility to periodically check on their current voter registration record, either online, in person, or on the phone, to make sure of their poll location and to assure they are currently registered in time for the upcoming election.

Newly naturalized citizens are thrilled to take up these new responsibilities with their new citizenship. If a person for whom English is a second language can make sure they're properly registered and can show up to vote in the appropriate place/time, then a person born in this country speaking English from birth can do it, too.

So why is it all these republican leaders are coming out and saying these photo ID laws were passed to suppress the "black vote", such as Representative Mike Turzai (R-PA) GOP lawmaker who said on camera that this law is "gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania"?
Or Jim Greer, the former chairman of the republican party in Florida, saying that meetings were held just after the 2008 election to talk about ways to suppress the black vote?

These comments don't bode well for the open and free elections this country is supposed to have. Hopefully, the courts are going to decide that these laws violate the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and overturn them.

There are TWO ways to look at this. One, voter id law stops the fraud in the booth which traditionally has been to the advantage of the left and then of course your reading of it. Guess it depends on how you view it and history !

for the umpteenth time a question for those who have a problem with eliminating voter fraud.....are you in favor of allowing known voter fraud to continue? And why?

The question, like many, many other very specific questions requiring one to state their opinion.....but to date never answered.

The truth has been known to be damaging in the past.....especially in politics.

I have no problem with fraudulent voter registrations deleted from the roll as there are as many republicans being deleted as democrats, but I have a problem with elected republican officials saying they "are trying to suppress the black vote".

I really do not understand Democrats, I was a democrat when I was 18 years old, but then I had to grow up. Taking money from people who made it and giving it to those who don't is only going to get you one thing in the end and it isn't pretty. Of course it took Russia 70 years to reach the end and maybe the Democrats of today are only living for today and tomorrow can take care of itself.

I do not buy your argument from fear. How are taxes going to result in whatever you claim could happen? Some countries have much higher rates of taxes than the U.S. and they seem to be doing quite well.

And this is the crux of the whole decline of our nation.....voting with teenage thought processes when you're 30-70 years old.

Doubt if many people actually vote with teenage thought processes. Most of the people on TOTV sure do not seem to do this. I also do not see the human rights strengthes of the US Democratic party as sophomoric. The right to abortion, separation of church and state, looking out for the poor, and fighting terrorists are very admirable endeavors.

In the case currently being heard in Pennsyvania, government officials, including the Secretary of State, stipulated that there have been no cases of voter fraud in past elections in PA and that they do not anticipate any voter fraud in future elections with or without the voter ID law.

There are responses for both situations and of course similair striking comments from the Democratic party !

The issue is voter id, with no motive...just show me who you are as you do when you buy beer, use a credit card, etc before you excercise your vote.

I assume from your comments that you are on the column labeled that you do not need to prove who you are. I am in the other column, as I consider voting a step above buying booze, using my credit card, etc, and I DO care whether someone votes who should not.

Everyone would be better served to forget anything but addressing the problems in this country. The deficit, the unemployment, the despair of so many, the spending, etc....it has to be addressed no matter how many times you want to throw mud at people and ignore what is going on.
