Tim Pawlenty
I could handle him as VP. He is with American's on so many issues. Also, he does not pander to the Tea Party nor the overzealous religious folks. He would be a good choice for Romney.
:beer3: |
It will probably be Rob Portman.

Mitt Romney needs more of a boots on the ground advantage in Ohio, so I still seem him going with Portman. Not sure if Tim Pawlenty would help Mitt Romney get more female voters because of Pawlenty's stance on abortion. Portman would also strengthen the Republicans credibility in foreign affairs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Portman |

Pawlenty is an Evangelical, was a lousy governor in Minnesota and, to be so trite, is as exciting as paint drying.

:BigApplause: Just can't see Paws - he contributs nothing to Willard's campaign. Willard will lose MN even with Paws. Portman is the logical choice - 'cept he was Junior's OMB Director ...... and carries a lot of baggage. There really isn't anyone else. The base't won't accept Powell or Rice. |
check the chris christie facebook page - there a people from all over the country who would like to see him be vp. seems he could puul lots of votes from lots of states for romney. i question why he was sent out of state to campaign out west yesterday instead of be allowed to greet gov romney coming to nj and to attend his two fund raisers. and why are there stories that he has been removed as convention keynote speaker after the big stories announcing it a bit more than a week ago?

Humphrey and Mondale, the last two Minnesota based VP candidates carried their tickets.

I'll use it in a sentence Mitt Romney on his worse day can run circles around Barack Obama. |

A better question is why would Paws - or any R - wanna book passage on the SS Rmoney Titanic?
When the R ticket gets destroyed on November 6, Rmoney and his VP will be sent into political oblivion. I guess they'll be able to get jobs as "special correspondent's" on Faux. |

The Carter/Mondale barely beat a surging Gerald Ford in 1976 and then lost big time in 1980. Mondale, running with Ferraro, was beaten in an historic landslide to Reagan/Bush. The most one-sided win in history both in electoral votes and percentage of popular votes. Minnesotans don't seem to impress the rest of the nation. BTW, I greatly admired Hubert Humphrey - an honest and loyal man who could always be counted upon to do what he thought was best for the country even if it was not the best thing for his political career. After his performance on the Church committee, I had zero respect for Walter Mondale. He clearly demonstrated that his political career was more important to him than the good of the country. |
